Another week is here

And I'm gonna be a busy bee. So if I'm not around, you'll understand. I have to work 11-7pm everyday but Thursday, and that's the day we celebrate the youngest's 6th B-day. So I will have to spend that day cleaning ( as Mom will be over, along with hopefully the B & SIL) and all that goes with that.
My weekend was pretty good. I got my herb/veggie garden all replanted, did some weeding around the yard, and harvested the lemons off my tree. I have a Ponderosa lemon tree in the backyard, which puts out fruit almost year-round. Never heard of that type of lemon? Well, these are HUGE lemons. They are actually the size of grapefruit or larger, and have a very thick rind. But they make the BEST lemonade you've ever had:

I put the paperback beside it so you get an idea of the size!
They are less tart than regular lemons, so lemonade made from them requires less sweetener. But I got THREE paper grocery bags full this harvest, so I will take some to work with me to share. I don't mind, since if I drank that much lemonade, I'd probably pucker myself inside out! lol!

I also managed to buy Kimmie some B-day gifts, and one is a stuffed Minnie Mouse. Which I will give to her with a little card tucked into it's hands saying "see you REAL SOON!!" I think that will be a good way to let her know about our little trip, no? We haven't told her yet, since kids at her age aren't real good with time. She'll be getting up every morning asking if today is the day as it is! But since she' the one that's been asking FOREVER when we're going back, and the reason the whole idea came to be, it would be downright mean not to tell her.

Oh yea, and they tried to call me into work yesterday. Which means they must have been desparate, since there are others I work with asking for more hours ( which I am not!) But I had bought all those plants ( not to mention laundry, cleaning, etc!) and my next day off isn't until Thursday. So I said no- which means I may be walking into a mess today- cross your fingers for me. Mondays are hectic to begin with, this can only make it worse.

Speaking of which, I'd better get my "rear-in-gear". I have to make my lunch, and stop for gas. So I'll just wish you all a good day/week, and I'll try to get back here as soon as possible!

Peace and Love, KC

** P.S.- I got a really nice shirt in the mail Friday, I'll get a picture sometime soon so you all can see it! **
Hugs, KC

Wow! Sounds a lot like me!

Well, I have to go out shopping today. I remembered yesterday that next week is Kimmie's birthday. Now, don't chastise me- I knew it was coming up, but not quite that fast! And I've been wrapped up in work and planning our little vacation that I just forgot the "time"! And since this whole Disney thing is really her idea, that is part of her birthday presents. But I can't just hand a 6 yr old Disney tickets for a month away, and say "Happy Birthday". So I must go out and find some stuff for her to unwrap next Weds. Mom will be over in a little while, and then we will raid Toys R Us, and Target. So I'd better get dressed and ready to go. But it is Friday, and as such it's time for our weekly giggles:
.................................................................................

Three Hillbillies are sitting on a porch shootin' the breeze.
1st Hillbilly: "My wife sure is stupid!...She bought an air conditioner.."
2nd Hillbilly: "Why is that stupid?"
1st Hillbilly: "We ain't got no 'lectricity!"

2nd Hillbilly: "That's nothin'! My wife is so stupid, she bought one of them new fangled warshin' machines!"
1st Hillbilly: "Why is that so stupid?"
2nd Hillbilly: "'Cause we ain't got no plummin'!"

3rd Hillbilly: "That ain't nuthin'! My wife is dumber than both yer wifes put together! I was going through her purse the other day lookin' fer some change, and I found 6 condoms in thar."
1st and 2nd Hillbillies: "Well, what's so dumb about that?"
3rd Hillbilly : "She ain't got no pecker."

And just because- Another one!

For a laugh . . .
There was a preacher whose wife was expecting a baby so he went to the
congregation and asked for a raise. After much consideration and
discussion, they passed a rule that whenever the preacher's family expanded, so would
his paycheck.

After 6 children, this started to get expensive and the Congregation decided to hold another meeting to discuss the preacher's salary. There was much yelling and bickering about how much the Clergyman's additional children were costing the church.
Finally, the Preacher got up and spoke to the crowd, "Children are a gift from God," he said.

Silence fell on the congregation.

In the back of the room, a little old lady stood up and in her frail voice said, "Rain is also a gift from God,
but when we get too much, we wear rubbers."

And the congregation said, "Amen."

Have a great Friday all!
Peace and Love, KC

I'm Pissed!

I went out this morning to hook our dog out to her lead for her "morning constitutional". And when I turned around, I noticed that the bed where a couple of months ago, Hubby and I planted these pretty new bushes was all DUG UP! Some stray had obviously taken a liking to my plants. Now, 2 of them were torn out, and will probably not survive ( although I have replanted them). And all the marble pebbles/stones that we placed around them are buried under the dirt this little monster dug up! It's one big mess, and if I catch the varmit that did this- his owner is gonna get an earfull from moi. I know we don't have a fence, but dogs are NOT supposed to run free around here. I don't allow mine to, and she's not a "digger" dog. I spent a fair amount of money/time on that bed, and this just twists my knickers.

I have to go to work now, but at least it will be a good day- "D" is off!

Love and Peace, KC.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!

The story of my life right now. BORING! Just work, work and ( sometimes) sleep. I really have nothing much exciting to share, hence the lack of posts. I mean- buying a vacuum is a highlight? Sheesh!

I AM trying to change some of that. I've book a villa over in Orlando for 3nights/4days during spring break. The kids all want to spend some time at Disney, and perhaps Seaworld. And since it was cheaper/easier to get the villa off Disney property, I've decided to go that route. With 5 people in this family, Disney is just way too expensive, I.E.- you either have to book 2 rooms ( at $200 a night minimum!) Or get a suite, which are like $500 a night! No, my last name is not Gates, so off-site we go! I got the Villa for $400 for the 3 nights. MUCH better all around! Now maybe we can afford the tickets to the attractions themselves lol! Plus, there are 3 bedrooms, kitchen, TV's ( notice that's plural!) and all the comforts of home. Which means we won't have to eat out every meal while we're there. And getting away, even if it's only a few days will be worth it.

Work is -well - work. I still haven't heard anything about the e-mail. I don't even know if the DM has read the darn thing. But there are so many other problems right now, mine/ours is probably down the list of priorities . I'm sure something will come of it eventually. I did get a giggle on Monday. After 23 years with Walgreens, I finally got "drug-tested". I've always either been off or something when they came. So that was a bit of a laugh ( obviously, I'm not worried. I haven't done anything Illegal like that since HS!). And I've just been keeping my mouth shut, and doing whatever to keep the peace. I refuse to let this stuff get to me, I've got much more important things to worry about than whether everything is perfect in the Pharmacy. After all, I"M NOT THE FLIPPIN' MANAGER! So that's where all of that stands at the moment.

I'm sorry I haven't been around to all of your blogs lately. I've managed to skim through a few of the posts, but I've been spending so much time scoping out the vacation info, and working 10am- 7pm. So by the time I get home I just don't have the time/energy to spend hanging around on this thing. Not to mention everyone else wanting a chance on here! I'll be back around soon, never fear! I'm planning on doing some work on my yard over the weekend, and just kicking back. So I'll have more time to play here. In the meantime, hope you all are having a good week! Oh, and here's something I came across the other day: My favorite Dark-Hunter ( actually- he's technically a "were-hunter", but you get my drift ;-) )

HELLLOOOO Handsome! His name is Vane- which, he has a right to, don't you think?

Have a great "hump-day" ( how about that segue? Hehehehe!)
Love and Peace, KC

I have a new toy ;-)

A Dyson, all area vacuum.
( isn't it awful- This gets me excited???!!! What does that say about my life???)

The vacuum I had ( a Hoover windtunnel) was begining to die. It just kept getting clogged, and the belt kept breaking. I swear I'd replace that darn thing 4 times since New Years! So I promised myself I'd get a really good vacuum this time. This is the best! This darn Dyson would suck up the carpet if I let it. And boy- did it work like a dream. It's not cheap, but heck- when you figure in what you pay in either bags or filters- this is a good buy. No bags, the filter is WASHABLE ( I.E. no replacing the darn thing at $35 a pop!) And it works like a dream! DEFinately worth the money- IMHO!

I didn't do much this weekend. Gardening mostly, with me clearing out all the old veggies. Getting the beds ready to re-plant. The cold snap we had pretty much killed whatever was left, so I just cleared them out. I'll get around to replanting them in the next couple of weeks. We're having the last of the tomatoes, and a couple of bulbs of fennel with dinner tonight. The herbs- thankfully!- survived the freeze, and I just left them there. That, and the usual housework kept me pretty busy. So I'm just going to relax tonight. I updated my I-Pod, and downloaded some new tunes. So I think me and J.D.Robb are going to comune to the music tonight. Since I'm back to work at 10am tomorrow. Seems like a nice, easy finish to the weekend.

I wonder if anything will come of a certain e-mail I sent Friday afternoon?
If it does, I'll let you all know ;-)

Have a wonderful Sunday evening. And have a great Monday, if I don't get back here before then!

Love and Peace, KC!

I Won!

A Slang T-Shirt! I've tried to get one off e-bay for years now, but most of the time the darn things go for BIG $! But I got this one for $30 dollars. Which, by my estimation, is only slightly more that what they charged for it back then!

Well, I have a ton more cleaning to do. I just thought I'd share something happy for a change ;-)
Catch you all later! Peace and Love, KC!

Thank Goodness!

The week is over! ( at least for me!) I've had a lousy week, and I'm glad all I have to look forward to is housework for the next few days. Which is pretty scary since I hate housework. But it beats the heck out of what I've been dealing with at work.

I am working on that e-mail to the DM. I've decided someone has to make an effort, and if not me, WHO? No one else knows the big guy like I do ( he was the pharmacy manager at the first store I worked at. Heck, we used to go to his house every New years eve for his "blow-out party"! ) So once I've composed it to my satisfaction, I'm sending it off. Things just can't remain as they are. They just can't.

One good thing that's happened is that while I got ready to do my bills this morning, I noticed that our Tax refund was here! WOO HOO! I love Turbo Tax! Now I can start planning something to do with the kids for spring break. Jon and I have both taken that week off, and I thought that it would be a good time for us to do a "family" thing together. Maybe a trip to St. Augustine, although the kids have been wanting to go back to Disney, or Universal Studios. But those would seriously cost, and I'm still trying to pay off the last of my medical bills. But I sure DON'T want to spend the week loafing around the house. So I'll figure something out! I haven't even thought about a summer vacation yet ( can't make plans until I hear about a certain tour that will be happening ;-) ) But a nice little trip somewhere is gonna happen. I don't care if we end up just getting in the car and driving! The one problem with going anywhere in Fl. During spring break is so many college students come down here for their breaks . And I don't want the kids exposed to that kind of craziness if I can help it. I know, I've been here, done that! I even got conned into the wet t-shirt ;-)

So that's my weekend in a nutshell. And since I've worked until 8pm every night this week, my house needs some TLC today. So I'd better get off this thing and start cleaning. I'll leave you with our traditional Friday Funny- which comes to you via my "roomie" Janine-
......................................................................................................
As You Slide Down The Banister Of Life, Remember.........

1. Jim Baker and Jimmy Swaggert have written an impressive new book.
It's called "Ministers Do MoreThan Lay People."

2. Transvestite: A guy who likes to eat, drink and be Mary.

3. The difference between the Pope and your boss...the Pope only expects you to kiss his ring ...

4. My mind works like lightning. One brilliant flash and it is gone.

5. The only time the world beats a path to your door is if you're in the bathroom.

6. I hate sex in the movies. Tried it once. The seat folded up, the drink spilled and that ice, well, it really chilled the mood.

7. It used to be only death and taxes were inevitable. Now, of course, there's shipping and handling, too.

8. A husband is someone who, after taking the trash out, gives the impression that he just cleaned the whole house.

9. My next house will have no kitchen - just vending machines and a large trash can.

10. A blonde said, "I was worried that my mechanic might try to rip me off. I was relieved when he told me all I needed was turn signal fluid."

11. I'm so depressed. My doctor refused to write me a prescription for Viagra. He said it would be like putting a new flagpole on a condemned building.

12. My neighbor was bit by a stray rabid dog. I went to see how he was and found him writing frantically on a piece of paper. I told him rabies could be treated, and he didn't have to worry about a Will. He said, "Will? What Will? I'm making a list of the people I want to bite."

13 Definition of a teenager? God's punishment for enjoying sex.

14. As we slide down the banister of life, may the splinters never point the wrong way.

REMEMBER, GROWING OLDER IS MANDATORY. GROWING UP IS OPTIONAL!
( can I get an AMEN!?)

Have a great day- I'll catch you all soon!
Peace and Love, KC!

Sometimes.....

I wonder why I bother.
No, I'm not talking about Valentines day. That went just fine, except I didn't get home until 8:15pm, and both Andy and Kimmie were "down for the count" already. I'm referring to work.

First, as I mentioned in my previous post ( Monday) about all the sick people we'd be dealing with. Well, I was right as usual. What the problem is that because we've been having these waves of sick people coming in, our supplies of antibiotics and such are low to non-existent! And you can't find a box of Tamiflu in the county if you tried! ( I did- believe me!) Customers are having their dr's call in the above, only to come in and find out we can't fill their prescriptions. And the vast majority get pissed off- which I can't blame them. Hell, I call their house (the telephone # we have on file) and leave a message. But you've been at work all day/have no answering machine ( this would be the older folks- they hate technology in any form!) and so now your pissed at me? What am I supposed to do? We had 40 boxes of Tamiflu on our shelves for over 2 months, and in one WEEK we sold them all? We were supposed to *know* this was going to happen and order more???? And you can always tell when a drug company rep has been through the area- suddenly there are tons of prescriptions for a medicine that we haven't sold in a year or more. OOOOPPS! Sorry we don't have 20 bottles of a cough syrup that you suddenly need, that we've not sold one RX of in 6 months. So shoot me! I spent yesterday on the phone to various pharmacies ( including the local competition!) Trying to find one that had some of these meds for patients. But it's all my fault- and I'm an idiot! You go home, and find your own damn medicine, and see how you like it! If someone treated them like they treat me- they'd tell them where to go! But I have to stand there and take it. I feel like a punching bag sometimes. What happened to common decency? I firmly believe that everyone should have to work in retail, and wait tables for about 6 months at least once in their lives. They'd have a better appreciation for what we do!

The second is "D" again. She's gotten only marginally better at her job, and she's added another thing that just annoys the crap out of me. She will come out and ask( or more often tell) us that something needs to be done. Now, since I have experience doing just about everything back there, I tell her I can do it if she wants. Then later, without even saying anything to me, she tells someone else to do it. More often than not- she has to take this other person aside and TEACH them how to do it ( bear in mind, she first has to teach HERSELF!) Without acknowledging my offer! She just ignores me totally at times. Then, when the crap hits the fan- it's "Karen, I need you to do this-No that- No! Over here, fix this for ( insert name here)! I feel like a beaten-up Ping-Pong ball! And while I admit that it's a good idea for everyone to know how to do things ( like returns, inventories, etc.) there is a time and a place to learn these things. And that does not mean in the middle of the lunch rush- with 20 scripts still in an "entered" status (which means she hasn't even approved them to be filled- let alone sold!) that are over 1 hour LATE! ( example: you leave a script with us, and say you'll pick it up at noon. We put it in the computer for a noon pick up time. 1pm comes around, and it's still in the computer in "entered" status, which means it still has to be reviewed, filled & checked BEFORE it can be sold!) I swear I spent 1/2 of yesterday rushing around dealing with this type of thing. And there she is- down at the other end of the pharmacy, teaching someone how to box up a return- that I could have done in 1/4th the time! She actually had the nerve to ask me what was wrong by the end of shift. If I had opened my mouth and told her how I really felt at that point- I would have lost my job! So I just said I was tired.
(She actually told me to go sit down for a minute if I was that bad? WHEN BIOTCH? You don't give me 2 minutes to pee most days, and you want me to SIT DOWN AND REST???? )

I've made a decision. If the next 2 days go as these have, I'm gonna e-mail our DM and let him know what's been going on. Rationally, calmly and with the hopes that something can be done. I'm sick of our regular customers cornering me in the grocery store on my days off, asking me what the heck is going on in our pharmacy. They know me, I've been there "forever". And if I tell them the truth- I'd be in big trouble. But something has to be done. I'm sick of getting all the flak from the customers- when it's not my fault. I warned her at 11:30am that we had 20 scripts that had to be done by noon, and she' better review them. But she totally ignored me until the "shit hit the fan". Then she just whined about the poor customer service, and how bad things are at our store, and "Oh,Oh, Oh"!

(Sorry all, but if I can't vent here- WHERE?)

I'm just sick of coming home tired, my back screaming in time to my head! I'm beginning to hate to go to work. And I hate that!

Especially when I know where the problem is, and how to fix it- but I'm being IGNORED!!!!!

Off my soapbox now- sorry!

Love and Peace, KC.

BRRRRRRRRR!!!

Yes, I live in Florida ;-)! But we were not totally imune from the "No'easter" that hit the east coast yesterday. While I can not brag about the accumulation of snow, or white-out conditions, our temperatures down here are colder than it has been in several years ( 5 yrs, according to the morning weatherman). I woke up to a "balmy" 33 degrees, and those of us in the countys just north ( Janine!) are in the 20's. And tonight it's supposed to hard freeze here, which means I'm going to have to call home and make sure my tenderer ( is that a word?) plants/bushes are covered. It's something we know about down here. You use blankets/sheets to cover the tropical type plants ( or in my case, veggies/herbs!) so to trap the heat in. It has to be done late in the afternoon, so that they catch as much warmth as possible before you cover them. This is supposed to save them from freezing off and dying. I have one hibiscus bush that gets about 5 ft. high, only to be "frozen-back" every 5 years or so. Then I have to nurse it back to health for a year or so after. It was looking quite full and "fluffy" this past year, so I knew we'd get a good freeze again. Poor bush just can't catch a break!

And I know, you all that live in the north ( Jude, Lexy, Julie etc. ) are saying " KC, big whoopee! We've been that cold for months!" But you have to understand that 2 days ago I was sitting here in shorts and a t-shirt, with the windows open and temps. in the high 70's. You all get a chance to get "used" to the cold. We don't! I garantee you all that in the next 3 days, we'll be inundated with sick people at work. Because our bodies just don't get the chance to acclimate to the changes. And they say we'll be back up into the 80's by the end of the week. We also don't ( unless you've JUST moved down from up north) have the clothes for this type of weather. A case in point: Kimmie went to school this morning with a sweater/shirt, a jogging type jacket and her hooded jacket on. Because she has no "winter coat". I know- bad mother! But at their age ( Andy went to school with 2 sweatshirts on!) they grow out of clothes so fast, that to spend the money on a "winter coat" that they MAY wear once or twice before growing out of seems somewhat of a waste of money. So they get several coats of varying styles, and you just pile on the layers. This is the first time since she was a baby ( and then I just wrapped her in blankets lol!) That Kimmie actually NEEDED a winter coat. And it will probably be 5 more years before we get this kind of "cold" again. So until they get to the age/size that a coat like that would "last" a few years, it really doesn't pay to get them one. I know I don't own one either. I haven't in years! ( aside to you all- if you want me to visit, expect it to be in the summer months lol!) This type of cold just doesn't last- Thank goodness!!

As to my previous post ( last night) as you can see, what ever bug crawled up this computers...er...whatever seems to be gone. The best I can figure is that Andy tried to download an online game, which contained something bad. So after fighting this thing all day yesterday ( I had to system restore it to Feb 3rd 5 times for it to stick!! ) I've managed to win the battle. But we were truly worried some sort of virus had gotten in, even though Jon had said that Norton had "caught" a couple Saturday. But I know that none of these virus programs are perfect. I may have to look into a Mac for our next computer. From what I hear, they don't have these kinds of problems.

....( pause as phone rings)....

Well, I was going to say more, but I just got "the" call. Seems the early tech didn't show, so they've called me in early. So I have to go change shirts ( sweats are not allowed lol!) and get my happy butt to work! Did I tell you all I HATE MONDAYS?????

Have a good day all- I'll try to get back here tonight!

Peace and Love, KC!

FYI

It seems that my computer has been hit by "gremlins" once again. This morning Hubby surfed his blogs with no problem. but now everytime we try to get online, I have to System restore back about 2 weeks. I don't know what happened betwixt and between. But the short story is I'm running ( while I'm able to be online) every program I can to see if it's a virus or something.

So far- nothing. But I may have to take this puppy down to the "Geek Squad" again. So If I'm "AWOL" for a few days/weeks, don't be concerned. I'll try and do what I did before, and hook the old tower up to keep in touch. And at least I can now access my e-mail with my cell phone. So hopefully I won't get into the financial bind I did last time. I'm trying to do everything I can NOT to do a full system restore. I'd lose my I-tunes, along with a lot of pictures and stuff.

Cross your fingers, say a prayer to the computer gods. SOMETHING!
In the mean time- Have a good week. Those of you that have my # can call if something urgent happens. I pray it won't, but please feel free.

I miss you all already ;-(
Love and Peace, KC

TGIF!

And I think this time I really mean it! Between the Kids, and my Mom, I'm glad to see this week finished. Now all I have to be is mom, such as it is!

I was going to do some gardening this morning, but as it's about 43 degrees out, I'll leave that chore for another day. So I guess Hubby and I will do some shopping. Maybe go out to lunch. Something we rarely get to do just the two of us. And my kitchen needs some attention, and the laudry. So I'll just leave you all with our usual fare:
This one is from my friend Alex..........................

Men and Weight loss:

A guy calls a company and orders their 5-day, 10 lb. weight loss program.
The next day, there's a knock on the door and there stands before him a voluptuous, athletic, 19-year-old dressed in nothing but a pair of Nike running shoes and a sign around her neck. She introduces herself as a representative of the weight loss company.
The sign reads, "If you can catch me, you can have me!"
Without a second thought, he takes off after her.
A few miles later, huffing and puffing, he finally catches her and
has his way with her.
The same girl shows up for the next four days and the same thing happens.

On the fifth day, he weighs himself and is delighted to find he has lost 10 lb. as promised.

He calls the company and orders their 5-day, 20 lb. program.
The next day there's a knock at the door and there stands the most
stunning, beautiful, sexy woman he has ever seen in his life. She is wearing nothing but Reebok running shoes and a sign around her neck that reads, "If you catch me you can have me"
Well, he's out the door after her like a shot. This girl is in excellent shape and it takes him a while to catch her; but when he does, it's worth every muscle cramp and wheeze.
For the next four days, the same routine happens.
Much to his delight,
on the fifth day he weighs himself only to discover that he has lost another
20 lbs. as promised.

He decide to go for broke and calls the company to order the 7-day, 50 lb. program.
"Are you sure?" asks the representative. "This is our most rigorous program."
"Absolutely," he replies, "I haven't felt this good in years."

The next day there's a knock at the door; and when he opens it he finds
Richard Simmons standing there wearing nothing but pink running shoes and
a sign around his neck that reads,
"If I catch you, you're mine."
...........................................................

And with that, I'll "catch" you all later!
Love and Peace, KC!

Another one for me

Vane
One of six children, Vane holds a dangerous secret
that would get him killed if his pack ever
learned it. He is Fang's brother, & was born
of a forbidden union and has spent his life
trying to protect his siblings who were never
fully accepted by their patria. He is fully
aware of the fact that every minute he lives
will most likely be his last.Hunted by the Arcadians and condemned by the
Katagaria, Vane is resolute in his protection
of Fang and Vanya. He is a merciless soldier
who refuses to let anyone inside his wounded
heart. He learned a long time ago to reject
the world before it rejects him.

Which Dark-Hunter Would Be Yours???

Look at those eyes- you could drown in them!

Ok, back to the real world now ;-)

Well, this week has been a little weird. Tuesday I went into work, only to be called around 12:30 by my youngest's school. Seems she and a friend were horsing around and she smacked him on the face! So she was sent home from school. So much for work that day! And she's really sorry she did it- though she won't say why it happened. What has gotten into my kids lately??? Now I'm just waiting for something to happen with Andy. Sheesh- who's idea was it to have these kids anyway???? I know, I wouldn't give them up for the world, but sometimes.............!

And my Mom called Monday. Seems she has a nodule in her breast. So they want to biopsy it. Now, it's been there for over a year, and has neither grown or shrunk. So chances are very good that it's nothing. But having what happened to me in the back of both her and her drs. Mind- they're playing it safe. But she's not the patient sort, and all the "consultations" and visits to various specialists is pissing her off. I'm just afraid that she'll end up blowing it off, and that wouldn't be a good thing, you know?! So I spent yesterday ( my day off) running her around, making sure that all the right questions were asked. (Been there- Done that- Bought the Friggin' T- Shirt!) Everytime she got impatient, I just started saying; " Go ahead mom- ignore it, and then you have the 'pleasure' of Chemo and radiation- Just like me!" I think I got my point across. I hope I did!

So it's back to work today, then I have the rest of the week/weekend off. Because I had requested Friday off, to go to the JBJ concert. And by the time the crap hit the fan with Becky, the schedule was already made. So I'm gonna use it as a day with the Hubby. He's taking it off as well, and we're going to do some shopping. My clothes washer was making some banging noises last week, and since it's about 18 years old, I figure it's time to replace the darn thing. I had hoped to wait another week ( as our tax refund will be in by then!) But I'm just afraid that it will die on me with a load of clothes in it. And I just don't want to have to deal with that. Besides, there are no Laundromats near me- I'd have to drive across town to find one. So a-shopping we will go. I'm gonna go back to the place I got that deal on the dryer last summer. I should be able to get a good deal there (even if I HATE their commercials). Wish me luck!

So I'd better get dressed, and off to work. I just hope nothing else happens with the kids for awhile. I know they understand family comes first, but missing so many days in a 2 week period has got to piss them off. So keep your fingers crossed that my kids "tow the line" for a while!!

See you all later-
Peace and Love, KC

A Picture ( or more!) is worth .....

WOW! What a game. I'm glad that it was a good one. As much as I wanted my team to win, it would have been terrible if it had been a "blow-out". The Seahawks should be very proud of their performance. And I have to tell you- those first few minutes of the game, and all those darn fouls had me wondering if I should just turn the TV off! But, being the stubborn woman I am, I stayed the course and was not disappointed. And if the truth be known, I thought the call about Ben's "touchdown" was wrong. I don't think it was truly a touchdown- I mean, doesn't the BALL have to "break the plane" of the endzone for it to be a true touchdown? It only did after Ben placed it there after he was downed. But even without that T.D., and the 7 points it gave them, we still would have won. So no worries there! And I'm just so happy for Jerome Bettis! Now he can retire - with his ring and the heartfelt good wishes of all of us fans. Ride that bus into the night Jerome- we'll see you in 5 years, when you get one of those special "Gold Jackets" in Canton!

One other light note: apparently, my neighbors across the street are Seattle fans. Becky said it was funny how everytime I cheered and screamed- they were groaning and cussing! ( they apparently had a TV hooked up in their garage, and a rather large crowd there watching the game ) And Hubby went to bed at 9pm, but he said he didn't have to watch the game, he just listened to me scream and he knew how the game was going ;-)

Well, it's back to work and back to "normal" ( whatever that is!) I guess that means that I'll have to wash this friend, and put him away for next season;

* SIGH*

Have a great day, and I'll catch you all later!
Peace and Love, KC

Happy Friday!

I had a talk with Becky, and she knows where she stands now. And one of the guidance counselors at the school is going to keep an eye on her attendance. If she isn't in her 1st period class, she'll call me so that I can go find her and get her happy-butt to school. But she knows what she did was wrong, and hopefully this will NOT happen again!

And if there can be an up- side to this whole mess, I'm about $400 richer. Or to put it simply, I've recouped most of my concert monies. The tickets sold already, and my refund from the hotel should be in my account by the middle of next week. I'm actually surprised that the tickets sold this quickly. The seats were not as good as most of the ones I saw up on E-bay. But since I was only out to get back what I spent, mine were indeed cheaper! Most of the 2 seat-sets were going for upwards of $400 for just the tickets! Mine sold for what I paid- $200 plus shipping. So the moral is- honesty pays off! I just hope the lady that bought them has a good time! And that money is going right back into my concert fund. Perhaps a trip to Vegas in my future? HMMMMMM........

Anyway, I went out yesterday and bought myself a little friend to cheer me up:

I have yet to name her ( I know, I'm crazy! But all of my "figurines" around the house have names. Just in case ;-) ) Ideas anyone?

Well, we're under a tornado watch this morning, so if I'm going to get my clothes washed in time for work, I'd better get to it! It would be my luck to have the power go out on me in the middle of the wash cycle and leave me nothing to wear but my birthday suit! ( jeez- bad video flash there! ) In honor of this coming weekend's game- I give you a football/Steeler joke. Well, we Steeler fans hope it's the truth, but anyway...............................

Peyton Manning, after living a full life, died. When he got to heaven, God was showing him around. They came to a modest little house with a faded Colts flag in the window. "This house is yours for eternity, Peyton." said God. "This is very special; not everyone gets a house up here." Peyton felt special, indeed, and walked up to his house. On his way up the porch, he noticed another house just around the corner. It was a 3 story mansion with a black & gold sidewalk, a 50 foot tall flag pole with an enormous Steeler flag, and in every window a Terrible Towel.Peyton looked at God and said, "God, I'm not trying to be ungrateful, but I have a question. I was an all-pro quarterback, I hold many NFL records, and I even went to the Hall of Fame."

God said, "So what's your point Peyton?"

"Well, why does Ben Rothlisberger get a better house than me?"

God chuckled, and said, "Peyton, that's not Ben's house, it's mine."

.............
Sorry- I just had to share that! Sent to me by Robin, Julie, and just about everyone else that knows what towel I wave! And for those who missed it- catch the video link on my last post. It's a really good one ;-)

Until later- Peace and Love, KC!

I am beyond upset

Almost to devastated. I received a phone call last night from the H.S. It seems that Becky has been skipping school- to the tune of 8 days already this semester!( which is just 4 weeks old at this point!) All these days are the ones that I've worked the early shift ( 8am ) which makes sense as these are the days I've had to rely on her to get herself to the bus stop.

I can't get a reason for this behavior out of her. Just a shrug of her shoulders. She's like her dad- when upset, she just clams up! So I was up most of the night, trying to figure things out, and fight the migraine that comes with "Mom-stress". I've since talked to 2 people at the school, and they are going to monitor her attendance. If she's not in her first-period class ( they don't have "home-room") I am to receive a call from one of them. Then I'll just have to leave work, come home, and drive her happy-butt to school. Which I hope doesn't happen, but then again I had hoped this wouldn't happen at all! If she misses one more day- she could fail her grade due to absences! So she'll have to go to school for the rest of the semester, whether she's up for it or not. The ONLY excuse would be for her to be sick enough to warrant a Dr's excuse. Which is unlikely, since she hasn't been THAT sick for years!

So now I must work all later shifts, or be late to work if scheduled early. And I had to put the Bon Jovi concert tickets up for sale on E-Bay.( They were after all- HER Christmas gift!) I can't very well take her to the concert after this can I? And before you all ask, there's no one else to go with. Andy, Jon and friends either don't care for JBJ, or can't get the time off at this late date. I did manage to cancel my hotel room, so at least I'll get that money back. And we had been planning to go to other concerts together as well, as a sort of Mother-Daughter bonding thing. But that too will have to go by the wayside. I can't reward her behavior, and now she's shot down a lot of the trust I had in her.

I know, far be it from me to complain if my daughter skipped school. Hell, I did it too back in the day. But NEVER to the point of jeopardizing my grades/gpa/etc! Never to this extent. I'm just really depressed right now. They lady that originally called me asked if I'd transfered her to another school?- That's how bad it is!

All I can think is that somehow, I've failed at being a good Mom.
I think I'll go have a cry now.
Peace, KC

P.S.- Julie H. Sent me this- Especially for Steelers fans, but it's a cool video
Thanks for the cheer-up Julie!!!
