I have a garage! & other things.....

Well, if I thought vacation meant relaxing- WRONG! Jon and I just finished cleaning out the garage, for 3 very good reasons:
1- He finally had his old pick-up truck towed away. I has not seen the light of day in two years, and I was sick of us paying tags & insurance on a piece of junk!
2- We've lived in this house 18 years, and 3 kids added- we have aquired a whole lot of stuff. Most of which we never use anymore ( i.e.- a bike Andy grew out of 4 yrs ago, which was buried behind the afore mentioned truck!)
3- Frances! If that behemoth makes it here, I will need a place to put my car! That is, if we stay.
Topic 2- Frances.I have lived down here since 1977, and we have never had 2 storms come in the same season- let alone the same month! Please pray she turns, and SOON- or it's gonna be a rotten labor day weekend for me!
Topic 3 - has anyone figured out what the heck is going on at Mark's website? Does anyone understand that banner he has up? WTF? He loves driving us crazy- doesn't he!
And the rest...

I have not found anymore good quizzes- when I do, I'll be sure to post them. And until such time as we find out how this weekend's gonna turn out, I don't think I'm going to bother putting a whole lot of new plants ( that could possibly turn into projectiles lol). Thursday Jon & I are going out to dinner ( anniversary ) and I guess will have to make some decisions then as to how the rest of our vacation is gonna go.At least I'm off, so I won't be made to work until the storm hits! ( IF it comes) Take care of you and yours! Peace KC Hurricane

You're Element is Water. You are soft and serene at
most times but like Wind, you're scary when
you're mad. You proabaly have a talent is
singing and even your speaking voice is lovely.
You have an innocent type of beauty that makes
you look younger than you are and you like
close relationships with people.

Weekend musings

Well, my vacation has officially begun. Not that we're planning anything special, just catching up on some needed work around the house ( painting, weeding, spring/summer cleaning etc.) My hubby wanted to take some time off, and he picked this week, so I went with it as well. Let's see how well we get along this time next week lol!
Part of the reason he picked this week is because Sept. 1 will be our 20th wedding anniversary. God- where did the time go? You have to understand that I didn't want to marry- EVER. I swore this all my young life. After all, I was strong, independant ( being an only child makes you that ) hard working, with a good mind. I was always taught by my Father that I could do/be anything I wanted, without the help of a man. So why marry? And Kids- God NO! I had no experience with babies, or young children, and the thought of having some of my own scared the bejesus out of me. Sorry, no, don't need it!
So her I am, 20 years later- wife, mother of 3, about to celebrate 20 years of marriage. Has it been easy? HELL NO! Not to say that it's been all bad either. But it has been work. I married a man that had/has 9 brothers and sisters. He is quiet, hard-working, cynical, and has a lot of interests that are nothing like mine. How is it we've weathered all the sunshine and storms? Despite all the differences, He loves me. I have yet to figure that one out lolShock 4. And the funny thing is - I love him too.
I will be online quite a bit this week ( when I can get him off his civilization III game!) so keep in touch. And if you have any suggestions ( not expensive please- we're spending money on paint and plants, so funds are not overflowing!) on what we can do to mark the day- let me know. I'm a bit overwhelmed by the event to think clearly on what would be a fitting tribute. Thanks for "listening",

Have a good weekend! Gardening Peace, KC

In Praise of those of My Kind!

Without putting down any other woman in any other place in the world- after all, IT'S A JOKE! Happy Friday Friends!!!!!
FLORIDA WOMEN
Three men were sitting together bragging about how they had given their new
wives duties.
The first man had married a woman from Alabama, and bragged that he had told
his wife she was going to do all the dishes and house cleaning that needed
done at their house. He said that it took a couple days but on the third day
he came home to a clean house and the dishes were all washed and put away.
The second man had married a woman from South Carolina. He bragged that he
had given his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes and
the cooking. He told them that the first day he didn't see any results, but
the next day it was better. By the third day, his house was clean, the
dishes were done and he had a huge dinner on the table.
The third man had married a Florida girl. He boasted that he told her that
her duties were to keep the house cleaned, dishes washed, lawn mowed,
laundry washed and hot meals on the table for every meal. He said the first
day he didn't see anything, the second day he didn't see anything, but by
the third day most of the swelling had gone down and he could see a little
out of his left eye. Enough to fix himself a bite to eat, load the
dishwasher, and telephone a landscaper.
Got to love them FLORIDA girls!
Have a great weekend all, and Happy Vacation to me!! KC Sunshine

'cause they're so much fun

I found another one!!
HASH(0x88934b4)
Here ya go, this is your picture. You are a very
loving and giving person. You most likely give
and give and never expect something in return.
You just like to make people happy. You dont
want people to be mad at you and you like to
have many friends. You get scared easily when
people are mad at you, and you are usually the
first to apoligize. You are the one who breaks
up fights and rarly gets in them yourself. When
in a relationship, you want your partner to be
happy and will do anything for them. You have a
temper tho, if someone you know you cannot be
friends with, makes you mad, you will go off on
them and make sure they apologize. try to tone
it down a bit, and think about yourself.

The Friday Funny!

I work 9 to 5:30 tommorrow, so I thought I'd get this in tonight ( just in case!) Since most here are women ( sorry Michael!) I know you all will relate in one way or another:

Bras and Religion!

A man walked into the ladies department of a Macy's and shyly walked up to the woman behind the counter and said, "I'd like to buy a bra for my wife"

What type of bra?" asked the clerk?

"Type?" inquires the man, "There's a type?"

"Look around," said the saleslady, as she showed a sea of bras in every shape, size, color and material imaginable. Actually, even with this variety, there are really only four types of bras to choose from."

Relieved, the man asked about the types. The saleslady replied, "There are the Catholic, the Salvation Army, the Presbyterian, and the Baptist types. “Which one would you prefer?"

Now totally befuddled, the man asked about the differences between them.

The saleslady responded, "It is all really quite simple...

The Catholic type supports the masses, The Salvation Army lifts

the fallen, The Presbyterian type keeps them staunch and upright, The Baptist makes mountains out of mole hills."
( me here- Now what you never knew about bras!where do you "fit' in????) KC

BRA SIZES. Have you ever wondered why A, B, C, D, DD, E, F, G, and H

are the letters to define bra sizes?

(A) Almost boobs.

(B) Barely there.

(C) Can't complain!

(D) Dang!

(DD) Double Dang!

(E) Enormous!

(F) Fake.

(G)Get a reduction.

(H) Help me, they've fallen and can't get up!

Random thoughts

I've been doing some thinking while cleaning up ( scary, Huh?!) and so I came back to wander the WWW and try to answer a question that came to mind. It's having to do with LLWTG being released on Oct. 4 to radio.
Now we all know there's talk on the forums about another "greatest hits" package of some sort that has been spotted on HMV Japan. I did some research, and there is NO mention of this release anywhere else! I checked US and UK sites, billboard, RIAA, you name it. Nothing, Nada - ZIP!. And all I see recently is a blurb on Mark;s Nano site saying there MIGHT be news on the OS soon(underline might!).
Call me silly, but don't you think that if they are planning to release a single, and an album, that they should both come out around the same time?? What good will LLWTG do now- either for X or the "mystery album" if they are not put out in conjunction with each other? I know that Phil has been quoted ( by Ross Halfin) as saying he's not pleased with this ( If we can believe what Ross says). I can understand his point ( Phil's, that is) We do already have Vault.
I just think there should be more on this mystery CD release, or no LLWTG. Sorry, but a random single release is not support- It's bull-shit Annoyed And Disappointed( pardon my French!) I hope we hear something soon, October will be here sooner than we think!

Just because!

Sunday is a day I spend cleaning, so not much interesting here. I am presently watching what is probably my favorite movie of all time- "The Adventures of Robin Hood" with Errol Flynn. I think he was my first crush as a young teen. God, that man could be the dashing hero! Him, my Dad, Peter Frampton, then Joe Elliott ( still him, if truth be told !!) The 4 men that my Hubby has to fear!( Not really, but it keeps him on his toes- Always good in a marrage as long as ours lol) Not much else, but I leave you all with this sent to me by a friend. I thought it was wonderful!

DID YOU FIND A PENNY TODAY?

Remember this every time you pass that little penny in the parking lot.
I always thought that it was for Good Luck, but I love this version better:
I found a penny today
just laying on the ground.
But it's not just a penny,
this little coin I've found.
Found pennies come from heaven,
that's what my Bampa told me.
He said Angels toss them down.
Oh, how I loved that story.
He said when an Angel misses you,
they toss a penny down.
Sometimes just to cheer you up,
to make a smile out of your frown.
So, don't pass by that penny,
when you're feeling blue.
It may be a penny from heaven,
that an Angel's tossed to you.
Talk at you all tommorrow-- Sweet Dreams!Dreaming

It's Friday

Subject: Fw: stupid people
Check out some of these warning labels - I've seen some of them.
In Honor of Stupid People
In case you needed further proof that the human race is doomed through stupidity, here are some actual label instructions on consumer goods.
On a Sears hairdryer -- Do not use while sleeping.
(Damn, and that's the only time I have to work on my hair.)
On a bag of Fritos -- You could be a winner! No purchase necessary. Details inside.
(the shoplifter special?)
On a bar of Dial soap -- "Directions: Use like regular soap."
(and that would be how???....)
On some Swanson frozen dinners -- "Serving suggestion: Defrost."
(But, it's "just" a suggestion.)
On Tesco's Tiramisu dessert (printed on bottom) -- "Do not turn upside down."
(well,...duh, a bit late, huh!)
On Marks & Spencer Bread Pudding -- "Product will be hot after heating."
(...and you thought????...)
On packaging for a Rowenta iron -- "Do not iron clothes on body."
(But wouldn't this save me more time?)
On Boot's Children Cough Medicine -- "Do not drive a car or operate machinery after taking this medication." (We could do a lot to reduce the rate of construction accidents if we could just get those 5-year-olds with head-colds off those forklifts.)
On Nytol Sleep Aid -- "Warning: May cause drowsiness."
(and..I'm taking this because???....)
On most brands of Christmas lights -- "For indoor or outdoor use only."
(as opposed to...what?)
On a Japanese food processor -- "Not to be used for the other use."
(now, somebody out there, help me on this. I'm a bit curious.)
On Sainsbury's peanuts -- "Warning: contains nuts."
(talk about a news flash)
On an American Airlines packet of nuts -- "Instructions: Open packet, eat nuts."
(Step 3: maybe, uh...fly Delta?)
On a child's Superman costume -- "Wearing of this garment does not enable you to fly."
(I don't blame the company. I blame the parents for! this one.)
On a Swedish chainsaw -- "Do not attempt to stop chain with your hands or genitals."
(Oh my God...was there a lot of this happening somewhere?)
Now that you've smiled at least once, it's your turn to spread the stupidity and send this to someone you want to bring a smile to (maybe even chuckle) ... in other words send it to everyone. We all need to smile every once in a while.
Peace - KC

TGIF!

I know- I have been AWOL all week. I've been working some killer shifts because 2 of our co-workers left to go to "Gatorville " ( U of Fla) last weekend, and the one we hired to replace them can not start until next week. so 4 days of 10 hour shifts has left me with little time/energy to do more than check my e-mail and sleep. Hopefully that is all behind me now.
What's new- well not much. The kids are all back in school ( started last tuesday) and they seem to be doing well. My oldest ( Becky) started high school. She was a little scared because all of her friends that she's known all her life are going to Melbourne High, but because of recent district re-alinements(sp?), she is going to Palm Bay High. She only knows about 3 people at that school, and the campus is very confusing. She seems to be adjusting well though, so I am in a "wait-and-see" mode with her right now. Andy has a really nice teacher ( he says) so he's in a good mode.
Today is my Hubby's birthday. He turns the dreaded 49! ( I'm MUCH younger than him lol)! We're going out to dinner to celebrate tonight- if he would just decide where he wants to go. Why is it that Men have such a problem with these decisions? I just don't get it! Oh well, if I figure out men- I'll write that book and get rich.
I have heard from almost everyone down here that was affected from Charlie, and they are all OK. Kat is still without power, but she went to the local library to check her e-mails and sent word ( Thank you Kat!) The only one I have not heard from is Loufunk. I do not have his e-mail, but I have left PM's on all the forums for him, and I just hope that he is just too busy with life right now to check in.
That's all frm me now- I will post my TGIF funny later today, but right now it's down to the local tag office to renew ( after all, I don't want anyone to get my personal tag from me- DEF LEP2 )
With that- I'm off! And just to prove to the other half that this is really me here talking

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JON! I Love you!

I"M BACK IN YOUR FACE!

Sorry, I couldn't resist lol! Just to let you know- everyone here is fine ( no pun intended ;-)) We had a lot of wind and rain, but fortunatly Charlie decided to move west and north of me. I am now trying ( pm's and e-mail) to find out how my other friends around the state have faired. Some you all know ( Loufunk and Kat32807) and my college friends. I will not be totally relaxed until I hear that all of them are safe. You all understand that- right.
I have something else that I thought about last night I wish to bring to y'all's attention. We down here call Florida "God's waiting room"--Cynical, but true. there is a LARGE retirement population down here, many who chose Manufatured Homes to live in ( as well as you typical trailers ) These are the WORST thing you could live in down here. They are shaky at best in the typical thunderstorms that blow through here during the summer months. They will not stand up to catagory 1 hurricane- let alone the menace that was/is Charlie!!!!
I encourage any of you that have family thinking of moving/retiring down here to the sunny south NOT to move into one of these houses. While they are very nice ( look very much like you average track house ) THEY ARE NOT SAFE! This morning we've been hearing about deaths in Punta Gorda- in a community of these type houses. If you care for you loved ones- get them to move into a townhouse or TRUE house- and leave the trailers for the traveling-set.
Once again, thank you all for you good wishes and prayers- they obviously worked.
Peace- KC :-)

Because of circumstances, I'd better post this tonight! Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers! You all are the best!

I've learned....
That to ignore the facts does not change the facts.
I've learned....
That when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that

I've learned..
That when your newly born child holds your little finger in his little fist,
that you're hooked for life.
I've learned....
That everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness

An uninvited guest

Just a quick note this morning, as I have much to do. Charlie is due to hit the west coast of Florida 2 pm tommorrow, come across the state, and hopefully leave by Saturday morning. I have to "prep" the house, and bring in all loose items to the garage. I have to work today and tommorrow, although I hope to get off early friday, as I don't want to have to drive through the winds.
Cross your fingers, light a candle, say a prayer, whatever works- that everyone gets through this without any deaths. Material things can be replaced...Life can not. if you don't "hear" from me for a few days, don't be suprised. The power is usually the first casualty in the storms. I will post a.s.a.p, to let you all know what's up! Take care of you and yours! KC

Looks like the weekend is SHOT!

All thanks to a storm called Charlie. That's right folks- He's headed this way. According to NOAA and our local stations, he will hit the west coast, and head right up through central and northern Florida sometime in the next 3 to 5 days.
I have lived down here since 1977, and I understand that this is all part of the "bad" of life here. California has earthquakes, the North has it's wild winter storms, the mid-west- tornados. But I think that sometimes people forget about hurricanes. Not totally mind, but, from what I've experienced here, people don't pay attention until it's too late.
For the next few days, our store will be invaded by the "suddenly clued-in". Mad dashes made for water, batteries, canned goods, and all those supplies on the lists of necessities needed to survive the storm. People will fight, scream, and beat each other up for that last can of Tuna or bottle of water. What I ask is why?
Let me explain myself- I too will need these things. But the point is- I ALREADY HAVE THEM! when the season approches, I start to stock up. My pantry has enough canned goods to last us at least 5 days. I have bought the batteries when they have been on sale- checked all my flash lights and stocked up on lamp oil and charcoal for the grill. Water is easy if you think about it. My family drinks our soda out of 2-liter bottles. I save a dozen or so, when the storm is close, I fill them and Voila! Drinking water !( your supposed to clean and fill the bathtub for other water uses) Why do people who KNOW this could happen wait until it is "too late" to do this, and end up without what they need? I'm clueless, but I'm ready!
And if Charlie gets up to category 3- well- "I'm out of here, like I'm on fire"!!!
Peace all- KC

I hate Mondays!!!

Got up this morning, with the feeling like someone took my spine and wrapped into knots! Stood under a hot shower as long as possible, downed 4 Ibuprofen, and off to work.
Mondays are always busy. We are open all weekend, but for some reason everyone thinks about their refills/Rx's on monday morning. I especially like the people that call up at 8 am, no refills left on their prescription, and expect us to have it all sorted out by 9 am. Excuse me, but the doctors offices all are up to their collective eyeballs with patients that got sick over the weekend! Do you really think the doctors going to have time to see them, AND revue your chart to call in refills before- say- lunch? And of course- It's my fault that your insurance sucks, isn't it!
With my back in knots, and a very irrate customer ( who called every 30 minutes from 8:30 on) could I be any more stressed?? Thank god my boss came in at 2, saw the condition I was in and told me to go ahead home and relax my back. Let one of my co-workers deal with Mrs. "Iamthemostimportantpatientintheworld" I'm off to my heating pad! P.S. to Kim- you and I would make a Heck of a team today Sweetie! Shut Up

Drumroll Please

You know what day it is, Sooooo............
Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on thesame night.
If you had to identify, in one word, the reason why the human race has notachieved, and never will achieve, its full potential, that word would be"meetings."
There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

Good stuff

Well- he liked it-( "hey mikey" ). I thought the hubby would go through the roof about the hair! He said It looked "sexy". Scares me- I've never had it this short or had to blow dry and style on a daily basis- we'll see how "girly " I really am lol!
I finally found my Darkness CD- in my daughter's room! It's nice to know that she doesn't hate every band I like! Have a nice evening friends, I'm off to see what I can do with a curling iron ( HELP!) Danger

Busy Days

Well, today was abnormal for me. Instead of cleaning and "surfing" I had to get my kids ready for school. Supplies, clothes, haircuts were the order of the day. My daughter ( Becky- the eldset) decided she wanted the tips of her hair dyed red. She got her wish, and I have to say it looks really cool! And I did the unthinkable- I cut my hair.
Now, I know everybody gets their hair cut, I mean I KNOW that! But I finally made the decision to get mine cut short ( well, for me anyway lol). I had hair that was straight, and was well below my- er-You know what-strap in the back. It is now layered and just hits my shoulders! This is the shortest I have ever had it, and I think I like it. Don't know what the hubby's gonna say- he has no clue that I was gonna do this! Should be interesting when he gets home and sees his ladys' new dos, Huh!
I really think something has to be done with our schools though. I had to buy some stuff for classrooms that is just beyond it. Tissues, toilet paper , soap- tennis balls!! I mean really- I spent 65 dollars- and that was just for Andy (#2 kid)! I won't know what Becky needs until she registers tommorrow! ( and yes, I went to B.J.'s and Wal-mart - not some expensive place to shop) Oh well, I can't change anything this time around. But I AM a voter- so watch out! Devil
