I don't understand people.
I worked yesterday, and I can't believe the number of people who came into our pharmacy, loaded down with prescriptions. Isn't anyone at the beach? Bar-B-Que? A friend's house with a beer? Jeez, I don't know about you all, but the last place I'd be on a holiday is a pharmacy( unless I had a fight with the grill and lost). And good 'ol "Murphy" was there as well. Customers could not understand why, if there was a problem with their Rx, why we couldn't fill it. IT'S A HOLIDAY! which means ( you idiot!) that there is no one at the Dr.'s offices/ insurance companies to help solve the problem. If your Dr. Can't write worth a damn, it's not MY fault! Oh, and I do believe that YOU are responsible for having your insurance information at hand. I am not a mind reader! So this morning I will have about 30 phone calls to make, to get all these "problems" solved- BLEH! I love my job, I love my job, I love my job..............

And to add insult to injury, I woke up yesterday with a sore throat, which is now a full blown cold. So while I'm at work today, I'm gonna get some really good drugs. I have that wedding to go to Saturday, and I don't want to be miserable in the process. Hacking up my lungs is just not my idea of a good time!

We got an e-mail at work yesterday that will just add to my present "joy" at work. It seems (Stephanie posted about it, and you all have heard about it on the news, surely!) that Florida Medicaid, as of June 1st, will no longer cover Viagra. They only covered 1 tablet a month anyway, but this will probably piss off a few of our patients. I agree, that people that are convicted sex offenders should not be allowed this drug! Hell, I don't think my tax dollars should pay for some lazy SOB to "get his rock's off" as it were. I know that sounds harsh, but you have to see it from my point of view. I see these people ( not ALL, but a vast majority) come in, driving their brand new SUV, with enough gold on their person to purchase a 3rd world country, getting their drugs for free. And then pay for anything else with their Gold American Express card!!!!!! I'm sorry, I am usually a very compassionate person. I will move heaven and earth for a patient if needed. But I can't work up the sympathy for these people. If they can't get their drugs for free, they won't get them at all. And I've seen the same people not pick up their children's medications, just because they'd have to pay for them!! I'd sell my soul, if I had to, to pay for my child's medication. But they just don't care. So why should I? I just don't know........
Well, off to treatment. Then to work. I only hope my attitude changes ( could be the weather, since it's been storming since 3am, and I've been awake that long!) I hate myself when I'm like this. Have a good day, and sorry about the "venting"! But at least it's off my chest. Which doesn't need any more abuse at the moment ;-)
Peace and Love, KC

Fire element
Your element is Fire. Like fire, you have a hot
temper and you can be warm and loving as well
and angry and wild. It all really comes down to
what you are feeling. You have a lot of close
friends who you are very protective over, and
with your temper probably some enemies too. You
are not Miss Popular in school since you are
your own person and don't want to be forced
into behaving this or that way. You are the
untamed wild horse, the kind that everyone
wants to catch. But you don't want to be tied
down for the moment and just keep going with
your little crushes. Your will is strong and if
you set your mind to do something, you will
most likely succeed. But beware, your friends
may not always accept your mood-swinging
behaviour. Even if you don't mean to be mean,
they can still feel hurt. You just need to
start thinking some things through before you
do them, and not always jump in with so much
courage. One day you may be hurt because of
that, but then again, your element isn't fire
if you start to analyse situations before you
act. After all, your nature is to shoot first
and ask the questions later. Rate and message!

What is your element? [with pics + 7 outcomes + detailed answeres!]

I am exhausted!
And I really didn't do anything today. Went to my treatment this morning ( and got to catch our guys on the TV while waiting for my turn!), then took my car to the shop. Which took from 9:30 to 1:30pm!! Yes, I sat around that darn dealership all that time. It seems that while checking out my car, they found a brake line leak! Which is a good thing they caught it. Instead of me finding out the hard way, either on my way to Kissimmee, or to Virginia with the family! Visions of major car wrecks flashed through my brain!!! So they fixed that- as well as 2 new tires, oil change, and all the regular stuff. At least the problems were under my warranty, and I didn't have to pay for it! But sitting there really wore me out. Now I know what Joe said about a long plane ride being "mind-numbingly boring"! That was my morning.
I still haven't watched the show I DVR'ed. I want to sit down, and run through it a few times ( just for fun) and then prime the VCR to tape the "important" parts. But they looked great didn't they! Joe looks like he took off some weight ( that he may have put on while he quit smoking?) And the rest of the guys looked as handsome as ever. Becky said they looked good as well- maybe she's slowly coming over to our side??? A mother can hope, Huh?!
Well, it's friday, and I thought this one is one that we can all ( well, except Michael ;-)) can relate to. And if your a woman, and can't- well, I'll just have to come after you will a billy club!!!!!!!

Power outage during Mammogram
I was met with, "Hi!!!!...I'm Belinda!"
This perky clipboard carrier smiled from
ear to ear, tilted her head to one side and crooned, "All I need you to do is step
into this room right hereee, strip to the waist, then slip on this gown.
Everything clearrrr?"
I'm thinking, "Belinda .. try decaf. This ain't rocket science."
Belinda skipped away to prepare the chamber of horrors.
Call me crazy, but I suspect a man invented this machine.
It takes a perfectly healthy
cup size of 36-B to a size 38-LONG in less than 60 seconds.
Also, girls aren't made
of sugar and spice and everything nice....it's Spandex. We can be stretched, pulled
and twisted over a cold 4-inch piece of square glass and still pop back into shape.
With the right side finished, Belinda flipped me (literally) to the left and said, "Hmm.
Can you stand on your tippy toes and lean in a tad so we can get everything?
"Fine, I answered. I was freezing, bruised, and out of air, so why not use the remaining
circulation in my legs and neck and finish me off?
My body was in a holding pattern
that defied gravity (with my other boob wedged between those two 4" pieces of square
glass) when we heard, then felt a zap!
Complete darkness and the power went off!
"What?" I yelled."Oh, maintenance is working. Bet they hit a snag."
Belinda headed for the door."Excuse me! You're not leaving me in this vise alone, are you?"
I shouted.Belinda kept going and said,
"Oh, you fussy puppy ... the door's wide open so you'll have
the emergency hall lights. I'll be righttttt backkkk."
Before I could shout "NOOOO!" she disappeared.
And that's exactly how Bubba and Earl,
maintenance men extraordinaire, found me,half-naked and part of me dangling from the
Jaws of Life and the other part smashed between glass!
After exchanging polite "Hi, how's it going" type greetings, Bubba (or possibly Earl) asked,
to my utter disbelief, if I knew the power was off.
Trying to disguise my hysteria, I replied with as much calmness as possible. "Uh, yes, yes!!!
I did thanks."
"You bet, take care" Bubba replied and waved good-bye as though I'd been standing in the
line at the grocery store.
Two hours later, Belinda breezes in wearing a sheepish grin and making no attempt to
suppress her amusement, she said.
"Oh I am soooo sorry! The power came back on and I totally forgot about you!
And silly me,
I went to lunch. Are we upset?"
And that, Your Honor, is exactly how her head ended up between the clamps...................

Have a great Friday/weekend! Peace and Love, KC

I'm Back!
Am I glowing yet?????? Jeez, I had 5 techs and Dr. S. in the room with me this morning, checking to make sure they've been doing my treatments correctly. After 10 days??!!! I was a little intimidated though, since I'm laid out on this table, stripped to the waist! And one thing I may/may not have told you all. Since these treatments are really harsh on the skin, I'm not allowed to have anything with alchohol touch my skin. Which includes deoderant!!! I'm stuck useing cornstarch baby powder, and baking soda for the duration. Now, that's not normally too bad, but these people raise the table up in such a way that in order to "line me up", they have to lean over me- right by my armpits! I would worry, except at least my appointment is in the early morning, before the temp's get too high around here. We've been in the 90's for the last week, and it's only going to get worse from now until October. Bleh! Summer's here all right!
The kids are out of school now, which means I leave the 2 oldest "home alone". I'm not worried too much about it, but the house looks like a bomb hit it already! Becky tried to help- she cleaned the kitchen yesterday. But it's the livingroom that needs the most help. Gamecube controllers, 15 empty glasses sitting around ( and they ar not allowed to have friends IN the house while we're not there- so it's all them!) shoes, shirts, books etc. everywhere! I know what I'm going to be doing on my Friday's now ( instead of "relaxing/surfing) ! At least the worst culprit ( Kimmie) is still in daycare, or I might as well just torch the place!!!
I tried to stay up last night to hear our guys on Rockline. I really did! But I only managed to listen until about 12:30, and then I was falling asleep on my keyboard. So I signed off and went to bed. I hope someone somewhere posts a copy of the interview like last time. They sounded really good though! I can't wait to see their spot on the "Today" show tomorrow! I have to DVR it, as they will probably be on while I'm at therapy. And then I made an appointment to get the car looked over for our vacation ( and my trip to Kissimmee!) so I probably won't be home until lunch. Then I'm going to watch/tape all the stuff I have DVR'ed of theirs, along with what I already have on that tape ( their interviews on VH1 classic from last year, and Joe's interview from the ovation channel) When the tape is filled up, I'll take it to my store, and have them put it all on a DVD. I'll let you all know when it's done, so you can place your orders ( ;-) ).
Well, I'm on the night shift today, so I'll go get some rest now. I may have to work on Monday, they haven't decided. The "schedule-jerk" at work put 3 of us on shift! We really only need 1 tech on duty on a holiday. Especially when all the Dr.s' offices in town will be closed. But WHO gets the shift has not been decided. I'll do it, since I will be away for the 4th, but we want to let one of the girls that normally don't get many hours first "dibbs" on the extra time, if they want. So I may not know for sure until Saturday. But as I said, I'll work it, since it is technically "my turn". And I'll be working with "Major Tom" which is always a hoot!
So I'll leave you all to your day- Make it a good one! Peace and Love, KC

P.S.- I've been watching the last hour of the Today show this morning, and they've mentioned DL about 10 times! And they all seem really excited about it! Al Roker even said " DL, WOW! They'll come to see Def Leppard, and maybe stay for Brian Adams"- I knew I loved that guy! ;-)

The machine that is my "friend" for the next 4 weeks! For those who wish to know, I get laid out there , with my arms above my head. The big round part on top then moves around me, and shoots radiation at the various points already mapped out by the technicians. It only take about 10 minutes, but it's every morning until all treatments are done. Which by my calculations will actually be June 18th! So I will have a lot to celebrate at that concert I'm going to!!! Oh boy, those Leps are gonna hear ME roar! lol!!!!
Well, I guess it's the purple dress for me! Thank you for all your opinions- I really appreciate your input. I'm not really good at deciding what looks right on me, I'm always thinking I could do better. Or at least look better in something. I will probably post a pic of the "whole" thing, but that will wait until the wedding day. I'd like to get one of the whole family- you all would like to see that, right? That way, you can put a "face" with the names I tell you about.
Work is going so much better, now that we have the intern helping out. Paige is a great girl, and since she's a 2nd year pharmacy school student, she's kind-of like having a 2nd pharmacist on board. And she gets along with all of us " crazy people", which helps as well!
I have to leave early tomorrow, to treatments and then straight to work. As I don't want to miss a special occasion ( and this is one!) I leave you all with this:

Happy 21st Birthday, Oh Studly Knight! May your day be filled with Laughter, Song and Happiness!
Love to you from one of your "Lep Hags" ( and DAMN proud of it! ) {{{{{HUG}}}}}
Have a great Wednesday to the rest of you! Peace and Love, KC

Happy Sunday!
And here I am, ready to ruin your lunches! Warning: this post is not for the faint of heart, or weak of stomach! ( hehehehe!) Now before I gag you, let me tell you that when I tried these on again, they were both fairly comfortable. So I must have been "bloated" on the day I was shopping. Anywho- you all know what I mean. I just need your HONEST opinions on which one you like best ( the dresses, not the person within) I will be getting a hat, and sandals to go with whichever one I finally decide on. But until I make said decision, I couldn't do that. You all can also see that my hair is trying to make a come-back, albet slooooooowwly! Well, don't say you weren't warned:

And the other one

I'll leave this up for a day or so, so that you all can get a good laugh, and a chance to say your peace. And please don't give me the "don't put yourself down" speach. Dealing with things that upset me with humor is the key to my sanity! But if I find the above pictures on any of your dart boards.................. ;-)

Anyway, Kimmie is screaming her head off in the livingroom, I spent all day Friday cleaning , and Kimmie has trashed it once again. So big sister is out there with a garbage bag, trying to make a point. I think it's working, but then again- we've done this before, and Kimmie still trashes any room she's in. **sigh**. One can only hope.
And Andy went through a "rite of passage" alittle while ago. Dad has taught him how to work the lawnmower. ( something Jon has dreamt about since Andy was born- no doubt!) He only did the front lawn, Jon is finishing the yard as I type this. But I know Dad is dreaming of the day he can pass this particular job over in it's entirety. I can see it in his eyes, shades of that famous phrase from a movie I subject him to frequently--- FREEDOM!!!
Well, I have my usual pile of laundry, and a kitchen floor that needs a good scrubbing. I check back later to see if any of you have stopped laughing long enough to type a comment or two. No really- I mean it! I do not have my tongue in my cheek, it's just a, uh, well, darn it, I thought is was a piece of apple, really! ( lalalalalala hehehehehe!!!!)
Peace and Love, KC :-)

Happy Friday Everyone!!
Just a few things to say today. I sent an e-mail this morning, to that favorite DJ of mine.
To: Rhoads, Chris (CBI-Orlando Radio)Subject: Pretty Please?
Hey- it's your "pest in the east" again. I'm going to be on this thing all morning, and I would love it if you could play Def Leppard for me! I'd REALLY love it if you played "No Matter What"!
And FYI- we're having a get-together before the Kissimmee show, at the steak house by the "Ho-Jo's" on 192. Should start around 4-ish, and if you'd like to drop by, your more than welcome! I'll even spring for the first drink- since you've been so nice ;-)! Peace, KC in Palm Bay...

And his reply:

Well KC I may have to take you up on that offer! We'll probably be at the arena broadcasting before the show.

I'll try and do some Lep for you soon. Have a good weekend,
Chris

Isn't he cool! I hope I get to meet him, he's really been a good guy about my DL obsession!

And I tried to get a pic today of the radiation treatment room, to give you all a "view" into my world, but I must have forgotten to hit the save button! My Bad! I'll try to get one Monday.
That's about it. I'm off to get some cleaning done. The kids' last day of school is Tuesday, and if I don't get this place in shape, it will only get worse. And I'd like at least one day of "rest' this weekend! SOOOOOO IT's FRIDAY>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
the first is complements of Tig....

During a good manners and etiquette class, the teacher says to her students:
"If you were courting a well educated young girl from a prominent family
and during a dinner for two you needed to go to the toilet, what would you say to her?
"Mike replies : Wait a minute, I'm going for a piss.
The teacher says : That would be very rude and improper on your part.
Johnny replied : I'm sorry I need to go to the toilet, I'll be back in a minute.
The teacher says : That's much better but to mention the word "toilet"during a meal, is unpleasant.
And Charlie says:
"My dear, please excuse me for a moment. I have to go shake hands with a personal friend, whom, I hope, to be able to introduce to you after dinner. "
The teacher passed out.

And just because I can ( and I haven't gotten any good LOOONGGG ones lately!)

Redneck Intelligence:

Hello, is this the FBI?"
"Yes What can I do for you?"
"I'm calling to report about my neighbor Virgil Smith.
He is hiding marijuana inside his firewood!"
"Thank you very much for the call, sir."
The next day, the FBI agents descend on Virgil's house.
They search the shed where the firewood is kept.
Using axes, they bust open every piece of wood, but find no marijuana.
They sneer at Virgil and leave.
The phone rings at Virgil's house.
"Hey, Virgil! This here is Floyd. Did the FBI come?"
"Yeah!"
"Did they chop your firewood?"
"Yep."
"Happy Birthday, buddy"

Sorry!!!!!!
I know, I haven't been around the last few days. But between work, and radiation therapy, there just hasn't been time. I've come home every night, with about enough energy to eat, clean and sleep. So I apologize for not "dropping by"- I'll try not to let that happen again!
Treatments are going well. No side affects as of yet ( although my lack of energy is something Dr. S said is part of it) . I have had some customers who have been through it giving me their "horror" stories lately. Open sores, skin so dry it cracked, all kinds of fun stuff. But I'm doing everything I can to avoid the pit-falls. I can't see me "rocking out" at the concert, if I have any problems in that respect, can you???
And the schedule problem has been cleared up ( thank goodness!) We now do our own, and he just "approves" it. So all is peaceful at work again.
I got my "Rock of Ages" CD delivered Tues. am, right before I left from work. And I think I've already worn out "No Matter What"! If this is what the covers album is going to be like- I can't wait!!! I also got that T-shirt I ordered in the mail yesterday:

And a "close-up" of the graphics:

Now I know, this is not a "family friendly" T-shirt. But it says how I feel about the last 8 months of my life! And even Jon, who is not really big on "novelty" shirts said he liked it. Andy, the 11 yr old, who is the diplomatic one in the family said " well actually, I agree!" ( he knows better that to use THAT word out loud!) . I'm still thinking that I'm going to wear it to the concert. It will more than explain my lack of hair, and perhaps help me dodge the questions about it!
I'll get Becky to take pictures this weekend of me in the 2 dresses, and get them up for your opinions. I'm leaning to the pink one, only for the comfort. But I'd still like to hear from you all. I know that if one sucks- you'll say it! Unlike the hubby, who'll be very polite, and say he likes them both.
I don't go in until 2pm today, and close tonight. So I'm gonna surf around a bit, and catch up with you all! And I'm off tomorrow, so if anyone wants to chat- just holler! Have a great day!
Peace and Love, KC

Monday Blahs!
And another weekend, shot! I swear, is it me, or are they getting shorter???
Becky and I both got our "wedding outfits" yesterday. Well, actually- I got 2 dresses. I'm not really sure which one I'm going to keep/wear though. The one, while it fits fine, and is comfortable, is a color which I'm not sure I like. Becky calls it "Pepto-Bismol" pink. Actually, the pattern is large pink flowers. The other dress is Lilac flowers ( actually it's a skirt/shirt combo) and while it's color is nicer, the fit is not as "comfortable". I don't know. Maybe I'll take Rhonda's advice, and post a pic of me in each outfit, and get you all to give me an opinion. But I'm not real happy with how I look right now. Not because of being "lop-sided"(that is not a biggie to me- go figure!). But due to the chemo- and my lack of energy- I've gained about 15 lbs. Which I know is only temporary. As soon as all this is done, I intend to get into an excercise routine and drop the weight.( Hubby says he doesn't want me do get started on all that until I'm "back to normal" so I don't wear myself down anymore than I am already). But right now I feel like a "stuffed sausage" in my clothes. That and a lack of hair really doesn't do much for my ego at the moment. BLAH! I'll get over it!
And last week we had a change in management. The Executive assistant manager we had, that did the scheduling, has been moved. And the new guy we have is a horse's arse! Now, let me explain- Our scheduling is done mostly via a computer program. We put in our availablity, and then he's supposed to work with that info to make the schedule. Well, he totally IGNORED everyone's stuff. He had me opening ( 8am) 3 days this week. I have radiation at 8:45 everyday, and had put in there that I couldn't be scheduled before 9:30am. And he had to OVERRIDE the system everytime to do this!!! And I'm not the only one he did this to. Not ONE PERSON in the pharmacy was schedule properly!! Devon was scheduled when she had classes, others at night when they couldn't work- you all get the idea. So Tom and I went to the store manager, and explained to him the problem. Long story short, he and I will be doing our schedule from now on. And when he was informed of his "mistakes" - he just looked at us like we were a big pain in HIS arse!??? We've pretty much had our weekly schedules fixed for months now, and it worked just fine. Now he comes along and changed it totally around? What is that saying?- if it ain't broke, don't fix it???? BLAH!
So now I'm off for the next few minutes, to microsoft works, and make a blank to work the schedule on. So in the future, I and my co-workers can make our own schedule. We do so much better collectively that this one idiot can do by himself. HRUMPF!
Have a great day friends! Peace and love, KC

We have a new "graduate" in the family!

Kimmie graduated from pre-school yesterday. And she managed to get up on stage, in front of everyone without crying. She's very bold in front of family and friends, but she has such a bad case of "stage-fright" that we actually haven't allowed her to participate in her Christmas pagents and such for the last year or so. It was just too heart-wrenching to see her stand up there crying and scared. But yesterday was different. We are very proud of her!
Well, just a normal weekend here, with one exception. Becky and I are going to the mall in a little bit, to get her ( and hopefully me) dresses for the wedding. And if I can't find something soon- I'm gonna have a fit! Becky should have no problem- she has the body I would have killed for back in the day! Hell, I'd kill for it now, truth be told!!!!
I also got an e-mail from Scar, and plans are in the works for a "meeting place" for the pre-concert party! I'm getting more excited as the days pass. And with that, I'll leave you all to your days with this:

One month until DEF LEPPARD!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, this has to be a record for me....
Getting up early, just to post! I swear, I don't know how I'm gonna handle this ( at least for the nest 2 weeks, until school is out!) Damn- I hate mornings! Ok, now that I got that out of my system.........
I worked yesterday with a Pharm. named Mike. He's really a nice guy- I've worked with him before. Anywho, we were talking during the evening, and he asked me how I was doing and such. I mentioned that I was going to a concert to celebrate the end of my treatments. And when I told him who- he went nuts! "They're so great! Wow! When's the concert again?!" He then started re-arranging his schedule so he could go. He just kept saying how DL IS rock,( and all those things we all know ;-) ). Now, I wonder if the guy's would pay me commisson for all these seats I've managed to get sold for them ......................
I'll post more later, or tomorrow. But I wanted to get this in before I left this morning. Can't have you all starting your day without a giggle, can I!

The FBI had an opening for an assassin. After all
the background checks, interviews, and testing were done there were 3 finalists.
Two men and a woman.
For the final test, the FBI agents took one of the men to a large metal door and handed him a gun. "We must know that you will follow your instructions no matter what the circumstances.
Inside the room you will find your wife sitting in a chair. Kill Her!
The man said, "You can't be serious, I could never shoot my wife." The agent said, "Then you're not the right man for this job. Take your wife and go home."
The second man was given the same instructions. He took the gun and went into the room. All was quiet for about 5 minutes. The man came out with tears in his eyes, "I tried, but I can't kill my wife." The agent said, "You don't have what it takes. Take your wife and go home."
Finally, it was the woman's turn. She was given the same instructions, to kill her husband.
She took the gun and went into the room. Shots were heard, one after another. They heard screaming, crashing, banging on the walls. After a few minutes, all was quiet.
The door opened slowly and there stood the woman.
She wiped the sweat from her brow. "This gun is loaded with blanks" she said. "I had to beat him to death with the chair."

MORAL: Women are evil. Don't mess with them

And Just because I can- hey it's my blog after all! :-)

Death Bed Confession..... Jake was dying.
His wife, Becky, was maintaining a candlelight vigil by his side.
She held his fragile hand, tearsrunning down her face.
Her praying roused him from his slumber.
He looked up and his pale lips began to move slightly."Becky my darling," he whispered.
"Hush my love,"
she said. "Rest, don't talk."
He was insistent. "Becky,"
he said in his tired voice, "I have something that I must confess."
"There's nothing to confess," replied the weeping Becky,
"Everything's all right, go to sleep."
"No, no. I must die in peace,
Becky. I ..... I..... slept with your sister, your best friend, her best friend, and your mother!"
"I know, sweetheart," whispered Becky,
"let the poison work."

Have a great day all! Peace and Love- KC

My "Mystery" present!
I know it looks alittle beat up-remember, this came home in an 11-yr-old boy's backpack. But you can see that it says "Def Leppard Rocks" when you look close enough!
I have to be at radiation at 8:45. And with the traffic this time of day, that means I have to leave NOW! So I'll be back later this morning. I don't have to be to work until 2 pm.
Off to get nuked! :-)

Ok, I'm back. It went pretty well, only about 15 minutes total. They did all the pre-lim work yesterday. The skin on my upper chest has more X's and dots than the Miami Dolphin playbook!! And they have to stay there throughout my treatments! Should be an interesting time in the shower. But it was either that- or MORE tatoos! And I just didn't want all these marks to be that permanent! And it seems that I will now have to use special soaps, and special lotions on my skin, to keep the "burn" factor down. LOVELY! Everyday, for the next 5 & 1/2 weeks. I'll even have to go the morning after the concert. Well, at least I don't have to be "awake" for this ;-)
And shopping was a big fat waste yesterday. I couldn't find anything that fit, that was reasonably priced. And why, in Florida, are they selling dark colored dresses, in heavy fabrics- FOR SUMMER???? This wedding is outside, in a tent, in JUNE! That means it will probably be 90 degrees + outside. I'd melt in most of the outfits I saw for sale! The buyers for these stores must all live in the Arctic! My only consulation is that Becky has agreed to wear a skirt for the wedding. Believe me- this is news! I don't think that girl of mine has worn a dress since she was 7 years old. So that's at least one battle I don't have to wage!
I work the late shift today, and with an "unknown" pharmacist. This should be an interesting day at work. But for now, I have some time to surf, and rest up. So I'll be around. And hopefully I'll get a chance tomorrow morning to post my usual Friday fare before I head off. If I don't, I'll post it in the evening. I promise! ( yes, you may all break out in THAT chorus now!)
Have a good day all! Peace and Love- KC

Well, another day....
Not much to say as of yet. I go to radiation at noon, then out again shopping for that darn dress!
I did find a baseball-style T-shirt to buy on-line, instead of making my own. It says " Fuck Cancer- do not go gentle into that good night". The "fuck cancer" part is in a chinese font type, and the saying is imblazened on top of a big pink ribbon. Now, that's a t-shirt I can wear lol! I might even wear it to the DL concert, it would help explain my "lack" of hair anyway! Just don't wear it around Mom, right?!
I've decided not to cancel the vacation. I'll work on the finances, and if I absolutely have to , I'll ask Tom for a loan. Not that I want to, but you all are right. We do really need it. I just can't lay one more disappointment on my kids right now. They're just starting to get their feet under them from all this crap I've put them through. So I'll work it out somehow.
One other thing- Andy made me something ( cause I really don't know what it is-bowl? Dish? ashtray? ) in art class. It's black, with orange lettering that says "Def Leppard Rocks!!" around the sides and top. Now, am I bringing that boy up right, or not? All Becky said was "what a suck-up". Little does she realize how well it works.
Well, wish me luck! Both with the radiation, and the dress. I'll try and stop by later- if I can kick Hubby off this thing! Peace all! KC

My Mother's day flowers.

I also got a cake. But not a "mothers day" cake as such. Our local grocery store ( Publix) has started to make "gourmet" foods in their bakery, and this one is a killer. It's a cheesecake, covered with strawberries, and heavily dribbled with chocolate! YUMMMMY! I swear, you could put on 10 pounds just looking at the thing! And here I am, trying to lose weight lol !
Anywho, yesterday, thankfully was a lot less stressful than last week. Not that we had more help, but the worst is over for this month at least. And we got word that we will have an Intern working with us this summer, along with Devon being able to work more hours. So if we can last the next 2 weeks, all should be better.
I also mentioned the fact that I may have to "postpone" or cancel the family vacation. I just had a hard time justifying going on vacation for 10 days, then coming back, only to go out for a couple of weeks for surgery. But Major Tom assured me that it was OK, and that he would do both if he were in my shoes. And when I mentioned that money might be a problem ( I just got a bill for my treatments that was over $300!- that I didn't expect!) He immediately offered a loan!? Not that I took it mind- I have a hard time taking them from my own mother, let alone my BOSS!!
But I will if push comes to shove. Because the family now is SOOOOO looking forward to this, that to let them down would just break my heart. I'd rather deal with my sometimes ridiculous pride, than to do that to them. And they've put up with so much with me this year- they could use the "treat".
Just a few more things. I had a wonderful chat with Jude last Friday ( Hi!!!!) And I hope I can do that more in the future. Kim- get a head set with a mic, and join in the fun! Anyone else that wants, just e-mail me and I'll give you my MSN messenger handle. God, it sounded like she was sitting with me in the same room, not thousands of miles away!
I'm off tomorrow, and have my first radiation treatment around noon. So I'll be back tomorrow afternoon, and let you all know how it went. And hopefully I can find a dress to wear to my nephew's wedding in 3 weeks. None of the stuff I have will work, and half of them don't fit right now anyway.
Oh well, better get dressed for work. You all have a great Tuesday! Peace and Love, KC

I did it!!!!!!!

I was so flippin' frustrated with the whole "gif" thing, I ended up on the Microsoft web forums. And everything they said to do, I had done already. So I registered and asked. And they gave me some new program, and some steps-- And it worked. So now I have my "gif.'s" back, and I know how to keep them. My thanks to Jude and Kim, who tried their best to help me. This one was obviously out of all of our leagues. Do you believe it was my temporary internet files that was stopping it?? Who'd've thunk it? Oh well- live and learn!
I made the mistake of going to Barnes & Nobles again today. $60 later, Becky has 3 more Anne Rice books, and I have the 2 Dark Hunter books I haven't read yet. Along with a "how-to" book on html, that should teach me more about this "personal confuser" that I'm always bitching about. Now, the next step- the graphics software Kim sent me! I'm going to try and make one for a T-shirt that I was gonna buy, but I'd rather make myself. You know- the one's that say "Cancer Sucks"? I so want one of those- I've earned one, don't you think??? :-)
Well, I'd best get off here- I've been working on the fix all morning ( I had ALOT of files to delete!). Off to the BIL's house tonight, and then tomorrow is Mother's day! So I may, or may not be here. If not, I wish each of you and yours
Happy Mother's Day
Peace and Love, KC!!
P.S.- Oh, and my computer is running so smoothly- it's downright scary!! I must have had a TON of junk on here, and didn't even know it!

TGIF!!!!
And a view into my world:

Sabrina at work!

"Major Tom" helping a customer.

Devon, the "stray lamb" that I'm dragging to the concert! ( sort of!)
This is my world, when I'm at work. And in a way, my sanity. It keeps my mind on someone else's problems, and not my own. Them, and all of you- of course!
Not alot to say today, except that I will be playing here, and resting my weary legs/feet. And hopefully "hooking" up with at least one of you ( are you listening Jude?) So as it is Friday, I leave you all a giggle!
How to handle SURPRISE guests:
Dirty Windows:
Layer of dirty film on windows and screens provides a helpful filter
against harmful and aging rays from the sun. Call it an SPF factor of 15 and leave it alone.
Cobwebs:
Artfully draped over lampshades reduce the glare from the bulb, thereby creating a romantic atmosphere. If someone points out that the light fixtures need dusting, simply look confused and exclaim,
"What? And spoil the mood?" (Or, just throw glitter on them and call them holiday decorations.)
Pet Hair:
Explain the mound of pet hair brushed up against the doorways by claiming you are collecting it there to use for stuffing hand-sewn play animals for underprivileged children. (Also keeps out cold drafts in winter.)
Guests:
If unexpected company is coming, pile everything unsightly into one room and close the door. As you show your guests through your tidy home, rattle the door knob vigorously, fake a growl and say,> "I'd love you to see our den, but Fluffy hates to be disturbed, and the shots are SO expensive."
Dusting:
If dusting is REALLY out of control, simply place a showy urn on the coffee table and insist that "This is where Grandma wanted us to scatter her ashes."
General Cleaning:
Mix one-quarter cup pine-scented household cleaner with four cups of water in a spray bottle. Mist the air lightly. Leave dampened rags in conspicuous locations. Develop an exhausted look, throw yourself on the couch and sigh, "I clean and I clean and I still don't get anywhere."
As a last resort, light the oven, throw a teaspoon of cinnamon in a pie pan, turn off the oven and explain that you have been baking cookies for a bake sale for a favorite charity and haven't had time to clean...
Works every time.
Another favorite, I think from Erma Bombeck:
Always keep several get well cards on the mantle so if unexpected guests arrive, you can say you've been sick and unable to clean.

Have a wonderful Friday all! Peace and Love! KC

Another day.....
And I work the night shift. So I've been playing around on this all morning. ( well, that and cleaning up after the family!)
I found a couple of countdown programs, but I couldn't make them work to my satisfaction, so tomorrow I'll keep looking. And I am still having problems with the whole "blinkie" thing. If I try to download them directly from the website their on to photobucket, it doesn't work. And If I try to download them to my pictures, it reformats them to bitmp's! So they don't blink when they get transfered. And this thing won't let me change that. So I'm obviously doing something wrong- but I'm not sure what?! Oh well, tomorrow's another day!
Work yesterday ( thank goodness!) was a lot better. And Devon is soo funny! She asked me what you wear to a DL concert. She's been into hip-hop and rap for awhile, and this is probably the first rock concert she's been to in years! So this it going to be fun! She also asked if she would be the youngest person there ( aside from Andy lol). I told her that all ages go to see the Leps, so I hope she feels better about it!
My chest is feeling a bit better, but it's still not fun to "get dressed" in the morning! I just hope the treatments don't mess up my skin too much. Me going braless is not a pretty sight right now!!! And I won't be done with them until the week of the concert, if not later. Which means I may have to "delay" the family vacation. Which in a word- SUCKS! But my health comes first, so unfortunately, that may be it on the subject. The kids will be disapointed though, they've really been looking forward to it.
If we don't go, I'll have other plans for the monies. They just leveled the vacant lot behind my house, so as to build a new one. Which means the "privacy" I've had in my back yard will be gone soon. So maybe a fence would be a good investment. I'll have to talk it over with Jon though.
Well, it's about time for me to get dressed, and get out of here. I hope that "major Tom" is closing tonight- that way, if my feet and legs are still hurting, I might get out early. I'll catch you all tomorrow! Peace and Love to all! KC

Ready, Aim FIRE!!!!
Well, I went to the cancer center yesterday to get "set-up" for my treatments. This involved a CT scan, and getting fitted with a mold, that I/they will use for me to lay on, so I am properly positioned during treatments. Now, along with all that, they placed these things that looked like the little discs they use for EKG's ? on my skin, to "outline" the area that needs the work. Not too bad, but then they needed to mark these spots- so she TATTOOED the spots on my skin!!!!! 12 in total, all around the "offending" breast! OUCH! Had I known that- well at least I'd've been prepared for the pain. Now, I'm not squeamish, and have been told I have a high threshold for pain. But remember- This is the area that's been cut, stretched, and generally abused for the last 8 months! I laid on that table, with the tears rolling down. She was so nice about it though, she did what she could to ease the pain, but still.........! Oh and she also had to mark my body with marker on the sides and center of my chest with X's, which I cannot wash off! They're now covered with Tegraderm ( a type of clear surgical bandage) . Should make my showers something of a trial for the next 5 weeks or so! And don't ask about how my bra feels on all those tattoo'd spots! HRUMPH!
Work has been a real PITA this week. We've been unusually busy, and add in the "staff-shortage" and I'm just exhausted! My legs have been aching for 3 days now, with no sign of relief. I have Friday off, and I swear- I'm gonna stay seated for the entire day ( probably playing on this thing lol )! Major Tom called the district office yesterday asking them to find us more help. He told them that he couldn't keep working us the way we were, that Sabrina and I were going to burn out before long. And she just had a cyst in HER breast break monday, so she's got health issues as well. I just hope they find someone- cause I'd hate to get to the point that the Dr pulls me back out of work- then where will they be????? SIGH. Any one know any Pharmacy techs that need a job???
On the up side, I just pre-ordered "Rock of Ages" off DL's website. They are giving away 5 signed bats, and 5 signed copies. Not that I'll win one- I never win anything. But I will get it on the release date, so it's all good. I have to get to work here shortly, but I just wanted to let you all know what was happening here. I see Devon today, so we'll have to plan when we are leaving for Kissimmee, since they're trying to arrange a "get-together" on the OF. Should be a good time, and as a certain drummer we all know say's :
Have a good time, All of the time!
Have a great day! I'll check back later- Peace and Love to all! KC

Happy Monday- BLEH!
Well, as I mentioned yesterday, my cell phone is toast. And it looks like it's gonna cost me a small fortune to get it replaced. So I'm gonna go to the Cingulair store, and get it replaced this morning. At least maybe I can get one with a better camera funtion, since I'll have to pay that kind of money out anyway. I need that, since I've found out that I probably can't bring my digital camera to the concert- they only allow cameras under 3 megapixels, and mine is 3.2 megapixels. I've not gotten 4 th row seats, only to not get any pics to show for it!! NO NO NO!! I won't stand for that!
And tomorrow starts radiation treatments. I hope I can get them scheduled for early in the morning, so it doesn't disrupt my work schedule too much. They said I may have to take a "crappy" time slot to start, and then work from there. But if it's in the middle of the day, it will mean either split shifts, or using my lunch break to do it. That would be a mess, either way. I'll let you all know what happens.
I've got another "tech" question for you all. I've found some cool "blinkies" I'd like to add to my sidebar, but everytime I try to add them, they don't "blink"? How do I go about fixing/doing that? Let me know, if you can- e-mail or comments, depending on how involved the instructions are lol! Thanks all, and have a great day! Peace and Love, KC

I have a new addiction!
I picked up a book 2 weeks ago by Sherrilyn Kenyon. It's a "Dark Hunter" novel called "Night Embrace". OMFG! What a great read! It's all about humans, dark-hunters ( which are sort of like Vampires, only they don't drink blood, but destroy all the dark daemons that roam at night) This book was so good, when I went shopping friday, I bought 3 more. They're romance, mystery, and a lot more! I swear, I've read 2 of them this weekend! I put a link to the website on my sidebar. If your interested, get one- you won't be sorry!!
As for that shopping trip, aside from the books, I got a shirt/camisole set that should be really good for the concert. And 1 new sweater/shirt. But everything I liked was just more than I wanted to pay, so I'll have to go try again sometime. At least I didn't come home completely empty-handed!I also found a pair of clog-sandals that I really wanted, but not in my size. Time to surf the 'net for them! I had a pair just like them way back when ( which, in my Mom's words- I wore "ad-nauseam" ) And they were so comfortable. Hope I can find them somewhere!
Other than that, the Dr. visit went well. I am done with the "prep work" for my reconstrutive surgery. He said I should call back when my radiation therapy is done, and we can get that set up. He couldn't understand why they were putting me through radiation though, since, in his words-"they got it all with the surgery". I don't know. On the one hand, I would really just like to skip this part and be DONE! On the other, if there is any chance of just one cancer cell remaining, and radiation can get it- * SIGH *! So I guess I'll just buck-up and handle it.
And bummer of the weekend- I broke my new cellphone! SHIT! I was at my BIL's as usual last night, and dropped it. Since their house is under remodel, their floors are the bare concrete, and I must have done it then. So sometime this week, I will have to shell out major $$$ to get it replaced. I just got the darn thing last August, and I don't qualify for a "replacement" through Cingular for another year yet! CRAP! So much for saving money this pay.
And with that, it's off to the laundry again ( don't I sound like a broken record? I swear,I must do 15 loads a week easy, and that's not including Becky's since she does her own!!) If Hubby would win the Lotto, the first thing I'd get is a MAID!!
Have a good Sunday all- I'll catch you later! Peace and Love, KC!
P.S. to those whom this applies- Blessed Beltane!!!!!!!!
