Kids are out of school....

And I'm just swamped! I'd forgotten how much work it is to have them home 24/7. I mean, it seems that the house is clean when I leave for work- only to have a mess when I return. Not just "stuff" all over, but the dirty dishes/cups/such that pile up during the day. I really have to "get on them" to put these things away when they're done with them. Otherwise, we'll never survive the summer unscathed!

On to some pictures- of Andy's graduation. He's off to middle school next year, and they had ceremony to mark the occasion:

Some of the chess club people

Andy recieving his certificate from the principal

Andy and 2 of his good friends in his classroom after. Where something really cool happened. Whilst everyone was milling around, his teacher asked us all to come to her and sign for their final report cards. When it was my turn, and I said Andy's name- she grabbed my arm. She then looked *straight* into my eyes and said "Keep on him. Make sure he does his work. His FCAT scores are in- HE GOT ALL 5's!! He's going places, and if he can just get on paper what is in his head- he's just going to be AMAZING!!" ( FCATS are the state tests that are supposed to gauge how students/schools are doing- the ones the government mandated. 5 is the highest score you can get on the FCATS) I was totally blown away. I mean- I know Andy is smart. And I know he's very creative. But to hear this from a woman that has been teaching 30+ years- WOW! I mean, I saw how she greeted the other parents, and nothing like that went on with them. So needless to say I'm very proud of him! (even if I can't get him to tuck in his shirt, or take off that god-forsaken hoodie!!)

Now it's back to "normal", which means work, work, cleaning, and work! I've been trying ( somewhat) to spend more time NOT being on this thing. I found I was spending soo much time on the various forums/blogs/websites that some things around here were getting neglected. So that's why I'm not here as much as I have been. NO- I'm not shutting this down, and I will still be here, just not everyday as I once was. I've also been catching up on my "to be read" list. I have had a pile of books on my nightstand screaming at me for months. So I've been catching up there too. I'm totally hooked on a new series called the "Black Dagger Brotherhood" by J.R.Ward. They're a paranormal romance series- and WOO BOY! Are these guys/books HAWT! And what is really fun about being involved in this series is the forum the author has up. I mean, lots of authors have forums- it's the way things are now. But the charactors from the books actually come out and "play" on the forums! And JR is on there alot as well. If any of you are interested- the website for the author is http://www.JRWARD.com/ ( BTW- These guys ARE vampires, but not the stereotypical, Dracula type. No- they're just another species and the stories are just riveting!!) If you like a good romance/action type book, give them a try!

OK, ok, I'm done "pimping" the books! And I'm off today, so I guess I'd better get this place cleaned up. I'm working again on Sunday, so I have to get "ahead of the game" here today. Then again, the house will probably look like crap by Friday anywho............

Hope you all are well! "Talk" to you soon!

Peace and Love, KC!

OK- so it's Saturday?!

Baby Bear goes downstairs and sits in his small

chair at the table, he looks into his small bowl.

It is empty. "Who's been eating my porridge?!!"

he squeaks. Papa Bear arrives at the big table and

sits in his big chair. He looks into his big bowl, and

it is also empty. "Who's been eating my

Porridge?!!" he roars. Momma Bear puts her head

through the serving hatch from the kitchen and yells,

"How many times do we have to go through this with you idiots? It was

Momma Bear who got up first, it was Momma Bear who

woke everyone in the house, it was Momma Bear who made

the coffee, it was Momma Bear who unloaded the

dishwasher from last night, and put everything away,

it was Momma Bear who went out in the cold early

morning air to fetch the newspaper, it was Momma Bear

who set the damn table, it was Momma Bear who put the

friggin cat out, cleaned the litter box, and filled

the cat's water and food dish, and, now that you've

decided to drag your sorry bear-asses downstairs, and

grace Momma Bear's kitchen with your grumpy presence,

listen good, cause I'm only going to say this one more

Love you all- so another.... ( besides, I owe y'all!)

>> A sweet grandmother telephoned St. Joseph 's Hospital. She timidly asked,

Hell, life is crazy!

Here I thought I'd get back on here in just a couple of days, but nooooooo! Anywho, you haven't missed much ;-).

Have my Mom's beagle for the next couple of weeks. She's up in PA again, staying with my cousin. Should be interesting to see how my dog takes to having her home invaded. So far, just a few growls between them. Thankfully, Mom's dog comes complete with a cage that she is to be put in while the house is empty. I can't imagine what it would be like to leave these 2 unattended. Scary- to say the least!

I'm also trying once again to plan the family vacation. the thing that sucks is- with 5 of us, it's hard to find a hotel. And after the near-disaster that was the first hotel I had booked on our trip to VA, I'm a little gun-shy to book online again. Plus, what we'd like to do is spend a few days in St. Augustine, a couple in Savannah, and then go to Stone Mountain or Atlanta for a few. Which makes it hard to book on-line. And I just can't do like Dad did back-in-the-day, which was to just drive until we find a hotel. With my luck we'd wind up in a dive or worse yet- in the middle of flippin' nowhere! So I may have to come up with another idea. Or can it altogether, which would be a bummer since Becky will start college next summer ( GULP!) and we won't be able to afford it next year!

Other than all that, it's been the same ol', same ol' here. Andy graduates from elementary school next week, so I'll get some pics of that. And probably some of our "visitor" while she's here. Hope you all are well, and we'll talk soon. I work the night shift tomorrow, so perhaps it's time I resurrected our "Friday Funnies"????

Peace and Love, KC

Yes, I'm back! And *hopefully* will remain that way lol! We've finally got some new help at work, and while it will be some time before they are "up to speed" at least that means less shifts for me. Which is really good, because my house looks like hell, and my body feels like I haven't slept for 3 weeks. I'm off today, work the closing shift tomorrow, and then off on Thursday. So with any luck, I'll have everything around here "back to right" by the weekend!

Today I have to go over to Mom's house. She has a few "Ms. Fix-it" things for me to do over there. Seems she didn't take my advice ( WHY does that not surprise me???) about her front door's knob. She said it was sticking, and I told her to just leave it alone until I could get over to take a look at it. BUT NOOOOOOOO!!!!! She had to go and fiddle with it, and it's been on the coffee table ever since! She really doesn't use her front door- she goes through the garage- so why it was so darned important I don't know. She's also got a dead-bolt on there, so it's not like anyone could break in?! So I'm off to her house in a little while to replace her doorknob. Half of which is still stuck in the doorjam? Don't make it easy on me Mom, sheesh!

( Thank you Dad, for letting me follow you around all those years, and explaining how you were fixing all the shit around the house!)

I'm also gonna do some serious "purging" around here in the next week or two. Both Kimmie and Andy have loads of stuff that needs to "disappear". The boy has so much junk stuffed into his drawers, there is no longer room for his clothes. Which wind up either on the end of his bed- or the floor! So I fear that Waste Management is really going to hate me very soon! And he wonders why I don't allow his friends over- his room is really "Hurricane alley"!

Other than that, just the same-old, same-old. I've been spending some time ( on-line) at some new "haunts". A couple of forums for the authors I am addicted to ( Sherrilyn Kenyon, J.R.Ward ) and trying to keep up with the pre-sales for DL. I don't know if I'm going to go to a show this year. The only one here in Fl. is in Tampa- about 3-4 hours across the state. Which would mean hotel, long drive, etc. All of that for the "same" show I've seen the past 3 years. I'll see what we decide to do for the summer vacation, and then decide whether the funds will be there. I'm still paying off the medical bills, and we really need to get some stuff fixed around here- the stuff I can't do (Plumbing!). So my "Leptrek" this year may not happen.

Well, I have to get over to Mom's house. So I'll leave you all for today. I'll be back either tomorrow or Thursday for sure! Just a pic to brighten your day- Kimmie and her "boyfriend" Wayne at my SIL's summer picnic;

Aren't they cute???!

See y'all soon!
Peace and Love, KC!
