Caution: Murphy has now taken over Blogger!
'Cause he just ate a very long post of mine. Jerk!
Anywho- here's what I said, slightly abbreviated:
Major tension headache yesterday, mostly for 2 reasons. 1- The boy we had "hired" to watch the dog while we go to Disney suddenly backed out on us yesterday. No warning, just said he couldn't do it! And he didn't tell us until Andy called him to see when he was going to come over to get the details of his "job". If we had waited to talk to him today....... HARUMPF! Anyway, there was a mad scramble to find someone else to take his place. So BIL is doing it. Bless him ( Thank you David!!!!! MWAH!) But we thought we'd have to cancel there for awhile. Not the best way to spend vacation!
2- Mom IS off on Saturday, but is hesitant to buy my tickets. Seems she thinks she'll buy bad seats, and I'll get angry? I told her that due to the fact that this is a co-headliner, I don't expect to get good seats. Just so long as I'm under the darn roof ( So we don't drown!) I'll be happy. But I think I'll have to convince her some more. Or skip this tour entirely, which I'd rather not do. I sort-of made a promise to myself last year that I would go to more concerts, since life is short at best. But I guess I'll have to cross my fingers on this one. Bummer!
The other half of my rant was about all the furor in the DL community over this tour. Now, I know that everyone has a right to their own opinion. I know I have mine. But just a few things:
Co-headlining- well, concidering the state of the music business right now, I can see why they would do this. It takes a crap-load of money to put a tour on. And since they are touring for an album of cover tunes, they may feel ( band/management) that going out solo may not be the thing. I've read that Journey is opening, and DL is closing each night- so at least they're getting the better slot! But still, I know a shorter set will give us a "greatest hits" type show again. I'm not too thrilled by that, but I do like Journey, so It doesn't bother me much.
Presales- Yes, I've gotten great seats from the presales. And we aren't getting them this time. I wonder how they would manage that anyway- with 2 major bands on the ticket? Split the venue down the middle? Have one pre-sale for both? Don't know. So we'll just have to do what the rest of the world does- deal with Ticketbastard, and hope for the best ( scalpers not withstanding!)
Site/Forum- While I do believe this is not the best time to take the forum down ( with the tour coming and all) I'm sure there is a good reason for it. We just don't know what that reason is. And quite frankly- it's none of our business. I'm sure, with the tour and all, they will get the new one up as soon as they can.
And as for Mark- I don't know him. I know OF him, but that's it. I've had very little interaction with him at all ( I did e-mail him once with a tech question- which he was nice enough to answer). But aside from that- I doubt he knows who the heck I am. He did have me linked on his old blog/non-blog, but I'm sure that was a simple courtesy, since I have him linked here. My opinion ( which is worth very little in the grand scheme of things) is that he does as good a job as he can, given what he has to work with. After all, from what I gather, he's not paid for the job. He has another job, in the real world. He does this on the side, in his "spare-time". Because he loves the band.( Something I'm sure we can all relate to) It's not like he lives next door to Joe/Sav/Phil/Rick/Viv, and can knock on their door to ask what's up. He works with what he's given. Which sometimes is not much- granted! But that fault could be laid at the band's/managements feet, as opposed to Mark's. If they don't give him anything, or at least approve of something- he can't put it on the site. Pure and simple. There's an old saying: "Don't shoot the messenger"- and that's all he is really.
And as for the forum, I'll just say this- If I had to deal with some of the morons/fools/nutcases that post on that forum, I'd be a HECK of alot worse that Mark has ever been! I'm a pretty laid-back person, but I don't suffer fools well, and some of those people would get both my "Irish" and my "Scottish" up big time! I think he's got the patience of Job concidering. Does he go over the line sometimes- sure. Which one of us could say we wouldn't? Think about it- really. I can't think of anyone of us that could truly say we'd never loose our patience. And from what I've seen, he doesn't very often. But that's just me and my VHO. I'm not one who goes on there to start trouble. I might try to diffuse it once in awhile. But that's it.
Now that I've gotten all that off my chest ( again!) we'll see if blogger will post it! I'll try to get back her tomorrow before we leave, but if not- You all have a great week!
And a P.S. to those who's cell #'s I have- If you get a silly picture later this week- don't be surprised ;-)
Peace and Love, KC!

I have a BIG problem!
Well, it is to me. It seems that our guys will be at Sound Advice Ampitheater again in West Palm Beach on July 10th, with a date in Tampa as well on the 11th. Which is great ( although I'd like Kissimmee more!). The BIG problem is the tickets go on sale this coming SATURDAY???!! And where will I be? Buried deep within the realms of Disney. Now, I can't very well have the whole family wait, while I run around looking for a ticketbastard outlet( while Becky and Andy would totally understand- Jon would blow a gasket!) . Nor can I get a call out to them from whatever park I'm "hopping" through. ( cell phones don't work too well there- the place is HUGE and there are no towers around). So how the HELL am I to get my tickets??????????
I mean, chances are very good that by the time I get home, they will be sold out. Or I'll have to settle for the lawn. Which means no seat at all, and WAAAAYYY away from stage, and possibly drowning in what is normal Florida summer evening storms. ( check out Gordon's post from his visit on the X tour, if you don't believe me!) And with the Journey fans vying for the good seats- my chances are slim to none as it is! And Devon is in class, and doesn't have the money to buy 4 tickets even if she wasn't.
So what the Heck am I to do? Any suggestions? I read these dates on the OS, and all I could think of when I saw the sale dates was " SONOFABIOTCH"! "Murphy" is back in my life, and raising cain once again!
** edit** Well, at least the tickets are a reasonable price. $69.50 is the most expensive. Which means after Ticketbastard charges, they'll be around $85 dollars. Not too bad! I thought for sure they'd be well over the $100 mark. The kids and I are going to meet Mom for lunch today, so I'm going to see if she's working Saturday. Maybe I can convince her to buy them for me, and I'll pay her back when I get back. Not likely though- she always works on the weekend *sigh*.

Well, I'm officially on vacation. Which is a good thing, as I've just about had it with work at the mo. Although, yesterday was probably the best day we've had there in MONTHS! All the scripts ( that were in line) were done by 11am, and we managed to do some cleaning/rearranging during the afternoon. Doug ( Intern/soon to be Pharmacist) and I re-configured what we call the "fast-rack". That's the shelves directly over the filling desk, where the most used drugs go. We made it much more "user friendly", putting the fill totes, trash bins and such in places that were more convenient. I have no doubt that "D" will probably have a cow when she gets in today- but tough!
I also was talking with Mr. P yesterday, and he said that "D" wants out! She hates the store, says no one co-operates with her ( more the other way around, to my mind!) and she doesn't want the stress of the job. She's also been saying things about us to others that are just not true! Telling people that Julie ( other pharmacist, who's been there for years) doesn't pull her weight, and that I " don't know what I'm doing"?????? Mr. P. just shook his head, and told me that the powers-that-be know it's B.S., and that she's not going to be with us much longer! We took a vote yesterday, and decided that when Doug gets his license ( May, I think) that HE should take over our store. He's a great guy, easy to get along with, and knows how to "work" our store/customers just fine! He said he'd love to stay with us, that we have the best store/crew he's ever worked with ( and he's worked at A LOT of stores, so that's saying something!). Now we just have to get rid of "D". Keep your fingers crossed for us- we could use all the help we can get. I could go on and on- some of the things she's said/done are just beyond all comprehension! The other day, she would not float a loan of a few pills of heart medication to a regular customer, because "the company might loose money"? Never mind the fact that this customer could have a heart attack in the meantime! Her sense of right/wrong is just waaaaayyyy off!
Ok, off that soapbox!
I'm gonna start off this vacation of mine by cleaning up the house. I want to be able to "live" around here without having to cringe every room I go into. And if hubby gets off at his usual Friday time ( around noon) He's bring home lunch- Chinese! So I've got to start working off those calories now! And I have to go to the Disney site and buy those darn tickets! I keep putting it off, probably because they're so expensive ( $700 for the 5 of us!) but since we're going next week, I'd better break down and just do it! They're cheaper if I buy them online, than if I just went to the ticket booths once we get there.
So I'd better get started. And, well, it IS FRIDAY:
The Hormone Hostage knows that there are days in the month when all a man has to do is open his mouth and he takes his very life into his own hands! This is a handy guide that should be as common as a driver's license in the wallet of every husband, boyfriend, or significant other!!
DANGEROUS: What's for dinner?
SAFER: Can I help you with dinner?
SAFEST: Where would you like to go for dinner?
ULTRA SAFE: Here, have some chocolate.
DANGEROUS: Are you wearing that?
SAFER: Gee, you look good in brown.
SAFEST: WOW! Look at you!
ULTRA SAFE: Here, have some chocolate.
DANGEROUS: What are you so worked up about?
SAFER: What did I do wrong?
SAFEST: Here's fifty dollars.
ULTRA SAFE: Here, have some chocolate.
DANGEROUS: Should you be eating that?
SAFER: You know, there are a lot of apples left.
SAFEST: Can I get you a glass of wine with that?
ULTRA SAFE: Here, have some chocolate.
DANGEROUS: What did you do all day?
SAFER: I hope you didn't overdo it today.
SAFEST: I've always loved you in that robe!
ULTRA SAFE: Here, have some more chocolate.

Maybe next time he'll buy her diamonds!

Ok Michael, I bit!
No surprises there for me.
Well, I hadn't meant to start a "firestorm" with my P.S. on yesterday's post! I was only wondering if Mark had finally gotten the go-ahead for his move to Canada. But hey, whatever!
And is anyone else having a problem over at the OF? It seems to sign me off each time I leave, and signing on takes several attempts.
And where is this "Rick" post you all are talking about- I can't find it??!!
All I have to say at this point--
ONE MORE DAY!!!!!!!!
And no "D" on shift today! Can I get a WOO HOO from the crowd!
And can you see me smiling? ( I knew you could ;-) )
Until tomorrow, Peace and Love, KC!

Short one today
As I have to take the car to the dealership. Seems the fan switch is on the fritz. It only wants to work on high. So unless I want to drive all the way to Orlando, with 3 kids and either no AC or Frostbite, I have to get it fixed. Sheesh- could it happen at a better time? But at least they'll give it a "once-over" before we go. I'd hate to get stuck between here and there, the road ( Hwy 192, for those who know the area) is basically driving through swamp between here and Kissimmee. So if I'd break down, I'd have a heck of a time getting help!
Work is a pain, but at least I have only 2 days left! But last night we got so busy around 5 pm, that we had to have 2 members of management come back and help us! Between the Dr.'s offices, and customers, we did almost 100 scripts in about 1 & 1/2 hours! And every one of those customers wanted them NOW! Most of them were Ok, the could see us running around like headless chickens. But some didn't care. And one woman was bitching up a storm because we "lost" a script that her dr. "supposedly" called in. Well, he didn't- but that was OUR FAULT???!! Some people should just not be let out in public- period!
Other than that- It's the same-old, same-old. I hope you all are having a great week. If nothing else, I'll be back here on Friday- celebrating!!!!
Peace and Love, KC!
P.S.- Has anyone else noticed, that Senff's site now displays a Canadian flag? Could it mean he's finally gotten the go ahead to move? I hope so for Julie & His sakes! They've waited long enough, thanks to bureaucratic red tape!! ;-)

I Love Weekends............
But the problem with me is, the weekend is an excuse to get so much crap done, that come Monday I'm more exhausted than I would have been if I'd just gone to work. If I have a day off during the week, I have a tendancy to rest more. Maybe because there is no one there to disturb me. But I spent most of this last weekend catching up on stuff. Weeding the garden, Washing and waxing the car ( I haven't waxed the thing in FOREVER!) laundry, vacuum, dust, mopping floors ( hate this one!) trimming down some bushes. Not to mention the errands I had to run, birthday presents to wrap ( were all my kids' friends born in the spring???!!) groceries.... Well, you get my drift!
I'm so tired this morning, that I fell back to sleep after Jon left and nearly slept through getting kids # 2 & 3 off to school!! NOT something that happens often! And as I type this, I feel like I have lead weights in my hands and feet. BLEH! Well, at least I only have to work 4 more days, and I get a whole week off! I'll just have to use that as a mantra- 4 more days, 4 more days......
Interesting little tidbit from the weekend though. The phone rang the other day, and I answered it- a "tiny" voice said - Is Andy there? Turns out- It was a GIRL??!! Oh boy! I don't think I'm ready for that! apparently, he's got some girl-friends. Not girlfriends, but girls that are his friends ( at least that's what HE says!) I'm expecting that sort of thing from Becky, since she's almost 16 ( but she hasn't shown any interest in that yet - Thankfully!) BUT ANDY?? He's just shy of 12, for pitty's sake! If we have to start with this at 12- what's going to happen in a few years? Maybe I should get my old softball bat out of the back of my closet- just in case Huh? That's what I get for teaching him to be nice to girls, and treat them with respect, and all that. Maybe I should have pushed the whole "cooties" angle instead......... ;-)
Well, I'd better go get dressed for work. Wouldn't do for me to show up in my PJ's would it? Hope you all have a good day!
Peace and Love, KC!
P.S.- I just went out in the kitchen. While he made "Fish n Chips" last night for dinner, Hubby must have gotten oil on the floor. I just did a slip and slide fit for a Hollywood stuntman! Crap! That means I have to mop the floor AGAIN! GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!

Happy St. Patricks day all!
( I got it right this time Rhonda- I swear!)
In honor of the day, I'm typing in green. Seems like the thing to do, ya know? Anyway, had a semi-restful day yesterday. Just cleaned up a little, chatted with Jude for a bit ( Thanks Sweetie!) and read a book. I need that after this past week! Today I have to go with Mom for her biopsy. She's having the simple "needle" procedure, so it only will take about an hour, and she has local anesthesia, instead of the kind I had. Which means she'll probably be fine right after. But they insist that someone brings/takes you home, so I'm on "driver" detail today. She should be fine, and I don't think this will amount to anything serious. But after what I went through, her dr's all agreed it's better to be safe than sorry. So I'll spend a couple of hours sitting around the surgery center today, with one of my books and I-pod for company.
We got a bit of a surprise yesterday: Hubby got a raise! ( can I get a WOO HOO?!) This is the 4th raise his boss has given him in the last year or so ( about $4/hr total!) . I swear- I was so shocked! I just looked at his check and went"Yeah BABY!". His boss is a great guy though, and I told hubby that I was going to go down and give his boss a big kiss! ( Not that I would ACTUALLY do that- but I thought about it!) It's so funny- when Jon was first offered this job, I was 8 months pregnant with Kimmie. And I was really against him taking it. He had worked for the same man( on and off) for 10 years. The man that lent him the money ( almost $1000) to get his Surveyors license. And he was going to "jump-ship" and go to this new, upstart company. With me pregnant ( and the hormones involved!), and us still coming out of the mess of Jon being layed off for almost 2 years in there. I really fought it. But Jon said the guy was good- young and eager- and he thought is was the right move. So I said ok, and I crossed my fingers.
BOY WAS I WRONG!
Let me 'splain a little about surveyors. They usually work in 2-3 man crews. One party chief ( Jon is one, he draws the site, makes the calculations, and is in charge of the job) a rodman( A kind of "go-fer"), and ( if it's a 3-man crew) an "instrument" man( He's the one you see staring through that gizmo on the tripod on the side of the road). If it's a 2-man crew, the rodman/instrument man jobs are combined. And there's maybe 1-2 draftsmen in the office, and then office staff. Or that's what this company started with: 2 crews, 2 draftsmen ( of which Jon's boss was one!) and a secretary. Now they have 8 crews, 7 draftsmen, and an office staff of about 10! I used to know everyone there, as I went by the office on occasion. Now when I go, I see a crowd! They've taken over an entire floor of the building they work out of, when back when Jon started, they had one small office in the corner! And Jon has a big, shiny Ford F150 with the big cab that he gets to drive! (Some in the office get pissed, cause Jon always gets the "new truck"). But Jon gets all the big, complicated jobs, since he is the other only licensed surveyor in the company ( his boss is the other one). You now, the "P.I.T.A." Jobs. Like surveying a darn swamp someone wants to turn into a massive condo/business complex or such! Maybe that's why when Jon wants to take time off, his boss gets his knickers in a twist. No one else wants/can do the jobs! But hey- Job security and all that!
Ok, I kind of went off on a little tangent there, sorry! But now you have an idea of what he does. A lot of people ask me that, since you see surveyors all around, but you don't know what the heck they're doing. And when I mention that Hubby got the cops called on him( by neighbors that think he's a thief/trespassing!) you'll understand. ( btw- he is allowed by law to go wherever he has to, property-wise, in the "performance of his job") Most of the local police know him on sight now, which is also hard to explain sometimes lol!
Well, I'd better get off this thing and go pick up Mom for her little adventure. I'll come back later, and let you all know how it went. In the meantime, here's you weekly giggle!:
One day, a lady arrived home to find a note had been hand-delivered through the front door, the contents reading as follows:
To My Dear Wife,
You will surely understand that I have certain needs that you, with your 54 years, can no longer supply. I am very happy with you and I value you as a good wife.
Therefore, after reading this letter, I hope that you will not wrongly interpret the fact that I will be spending the evening with my 18 year old secretary at the Comfort Inn Hotel.
Please don't be perturbed - I shall be back home before midnight.
When the man arrived home, he found the following letter on the dining room table:
My Dear Husband, I received your note and thank you for your honesty.
I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that you are also 54 years old. At the same time I would like to inform you that, while you read this, I will be at the Hotel Fiesta with Michael, my tennis coach who, like your secretary, is also 18 years old.
As a successful businessman and with your excellent knowledge of maths, you will understand that we are in the same situation, although with one minor difference.
18 goes into 54 alot more times than 54 goes into 18.
Therefore, I will not be back before lunchtime tomorrow.
Happy St. Pat's to you all, and have a great day!
Have a Guinness on me ;-)
Peace and Love, KC!

Welcome to "Hump Day"!!!
And I had a very interesting conversation with someone ( I won't say who) about things. You know, the conversation about stuff that needs doing vs. The stuff you ARE doing.
I had mentioned something about wanting to re-do my front yard. Since my trees in front have grown large, the grass underneath refuses to survive. And that, compounded with the slope of the yard ( houses down here are "built-up", because of drainage issues- we don' t have sewers where I live, we have ditches that drain to bigger canals, that drain.... You get my drift ;-) ) nothing wants to grow. Except your weeds of course! So I have this plan- I've sketched it out roughly, with gravel, stepping stones, sunken pots and assorted rocks, plants, ornaments, YadaYadaYada. So I was working on this sketch in the breakroom at work ( which started the debate!).
My co-worker asked " Well, why are you spending all this money on going to Disney? You could afford to do all that yard work, or a great deal of it- with all the money you're spending on the trip?!" Well, that's true. I don't debate that all that money would go a long way to see my yard transformed. But then again, what about NOW? My family, and it's needs. Having a beautiful yard is one thing, having memories with my family is another. If there is one thing I have some appreciation for, it the possibility of the "shortness of life". My ego is not so large, that having a yard that looks like the cover of "Better Homes & Gardens" is a necessity. It would be nice- I grant you. But having in a VERY real sense cheated the "grim reaper" not once- BUT TWICE in the last few years, I would hope I've learned a very valuable lesson:
LIVE-- DAMN IT!
My neighbor, across the street was like that. He had a yard that was the envy of all of us on the street. Perfect lawn, perfect plants, everything just so! When we re-painted our house, he had his re-done because in his words " we made his look pale by comparison"!? So he spent the monies he had marked for a trip with the wife to see his family on his house. And where is he? Gone to * insert your afterlife here*. He died last year of cancer. No trip, no family visits. His wife sold the house, so now even the house is not "his" anymore. She said, by the time he was diagnosed, it was too late to "change" for him. I won't be that near-sighted. But my co-worker thinks I'm being irresponsible. Because it's my house, and I should take care of it. Well, we do. Yes, there are a ton of things we could spend money on around here- anyone that owns a house will tell you it's a constant "work in progress". But I see my kids, and the time flying by. My eldest will be 16 this summer. Old enough to start working, and planning her own life. Son-o-mine hits his teens soon, and with that his attachment to home-and-hearth will diminish. "Littlest one" is not so little anymore ( though not too old yet, thank goodness!). If we don't make these memories now- then WHEN?
So now this co-worker thinks I'm irresponsible. Well, she can think I howl at the moon- I don't care. Because when I see the smiles on my kids faces when we're on vacation, riding the rides, or hugging Mickey, It will be worth every weed in my front yard. As we all know, the weeds won't go away like our kids will. They'll still be there when I'm ready to pull them.
Ok- off that rant! I have something I want to share with you all. Now, Y'all know I'm addicted to the "Dark-Hunters". Those books that have spawned some of the hot pics I occasionally post here for your pleasure. Well, Ms. Kenyon has a new series set to hit the book racks near you next week:
The Lords of Avalon- the first book is "Sword of Darkness".
This series is supposed to be a big twist of the old Arthurian legend. A sort of action/paranormal/romance/mystery type thing. I've read the "teasers" she's put on her site- and WOW! So for those of you who like a good read- pick it up. I believe she's writing them under her "other name" Kinley MacGregor. But I'll tell you this my friends- if you buy it-read it- and don't like it, I'll refund your money! Her style is very good/witty, and I haven't found a book of her's yet that I read only once! As a matter of fact, I've read them all several times. Which says a lot about the power of the stories. Go on- buy it- I DARE YOU!
As for other things, work started off well this week, and went straight into the toilet! Seems that when someone made the schedule, they neglected to mention that the lady they've had doing our "cashier duty" from 9-6pm during the days was ON VACATION this week! So we're one short every day this week( we put her on the schedule as normal, only to find out yesterday that she wouldn't be in!) When I left last night, the warehouse delivery and the distributor delivery ( that we get every day) had not been opened! ( well, I did dig some things out- rather that tell people that we didn't have the meds in stock!) But the darn place was one big mess! But I was exhausted, and I just didn't want to stay late in the hopes of catching up. The truth is, I could have stayed until closing last night and I don't think it would've helped. So I have no doubt I will go into "hell" when I get to work today. My only "saving grace" is that I have the rest of the week off. So if I can just make it through today- I'll be homefree! I'm also surprised that I haven't been called in already. I'm not scheduled until 11am, but the last week or so, I've been called in early almost every shift. So that surprises me. I keep sitting here thinking the phone will ring. But so far........
Well, I think this post is long enough! Jeez, I either have nothing to say- or too much! I'll just leave you all with something to help you get through the rough part of the week:
"Beware of things that go 'bump' in the night"
Or maybe not ;-)
Peace and Love, KC!

I suffer from "old-timers" disease!
If any of you read my post that I did this morning, I beg your humble apoligies. I don't know what I was thinking. My only excuse is that I have a friend who's birthday is today- and I always mix the days up. If you didn't read it- PHEW!
Anywho- I'll post something tomorrow am. I came home from work to a disaster area. So I must clean it up before I can get some sleep tonight.
I really need some new drugs ;-)

Is it just me?
Or are you having a "blog-block"? Must be me, but I just can't seem to find anything interesting to talk about. Well, I mean- I could biotch about work. But it would just be the same 'ol, same 'ol. And aside from report cards ( which were good, btw) there really hasn't been a lot going on in my world. I get up, get the kids off to school, clean up myself, usually get called into work early ( good for the concert fund!) work until 7pm, come home, clean up the kitchen, sit down to relax/check or help with homework- fall asleep! Well, I guess I shouldn't complain. Last year I was yearning for all this "normalcy"!! Does make it hard to come up with blog posts though.
I do want to give a quick thanks to Kim! I ordered a 1 gig card for Becky's camera yesterday. We'll be able to try it out on the vacation, see how much one of those suckers holds! I'm also interested in that thing Rhonda was talking about. The "storage unit" for the camera. But that will have to wait until I have some money not already commited to other things.
So since I've nothing else really to say, we'll just get right to the Friday Funny! This one comes from Tig:
Health Questions And Answers.
Q: I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life; is this true?
A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it... don't waste
them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart
will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of
your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.
Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?
A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and
corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an
efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat
chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable).
And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of
Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?
A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that
means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the
goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!
Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one. If
you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.
Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise
A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain...Good!
Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!!... Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil.
In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad
Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the
A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should
only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.
Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: Are you crazy? HELLO Cocoa beans! Another vegetable!!! It's the best
feel-good food around!
Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.
Q: Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle?
A: Hey! 'Round' is a shape!
Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about
food and diets.
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving
safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in
sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly
used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO, What a Ride"
And one from Kat!:
A Minneapolis couple decided to go to Florida to thaw out during a particularaly icy winter. They planned to stay at the same hotel where they spent their honeymoon 20 years before. Because of hectic schedules, it was difficult to coordinate their travel schedules. So, the husband left Minneapolis and flew to Florida on Thursday, with his wife flying down the following day.
The husband checked into the hotel, and unlike years ago, there was a computer in his room, so he decided to send an email to his wife. However, he accidently left out one letter in her email address, and without noticing his error, sent the email.
Meanwhile...somewhere in Houston, a widow had just returned home from her husband's funeral. He was a minister who was called home to glory after suffering a heart attack. The widow decided to check her email, expecting messages from relatives and friends. After reading the first message, she screamed and fainted.
The widow's son rushed into the room, found his mother on the floor, and glanced up and saw the computer screen which read:
To: My Loving Wife
Date: Thursday, October 13, 2004 Subject: I have Arrived!......................................................
I know you are surprised to hear from me. They have computers here now, and you are allowed to send emails to your loved ones. I have just arrived and have been checked in. I see that everything has been prepared for your arrival tomorrow, and look foward to seeing you then. Hope your journey is as uneventful as mine was.
PS: Sure is freaking hot down here!!
I hope you all have a great Friday! I will be back here either tonight, or sometime tomorrow. I only hope I have something to say lol!
Peace and Love, KC!

What holiday is YOUR birthday?
Dec. 4th- Wear Brown Shoes Day!!!!!
My friend Kat sent me this one, I thought I'd share it! Kind-of silly, but I'm in a somewhat silly mood this morning. Of course, that's probably going to change.
I'm sorry I've been MIA, but I believe a bit of the stomach-virus bug hit me Tuesday. And I've spent the last couple of days just basically vegging out. I'm better now, and I have to go to work today ( which is why my mood will be changing lol) "D" even called my house last night - and woke me up!- to ask if I'd been there today. Apparently I'm not the only one suffering from something. I think 3 of us called out yesterday. But I thought that was a bit intrusive, her calling my house to see if I was coming in. Or maybe she just "irks" me in general- I don't know. But I'm sitting here just waiting to get called in early. Or asked to work my day off tomorrow ( which I can't, I'm putting my car in the shop for it's 3 month check up) So I may be butting heads with her again today. Not looking forward to it- NOPE!
I did manage to get online, and buy some tickets for our vacation yesterday. Now, I'd tell you where, but a certain Son of mine has a habit of reading this blog, and since it's a surprise I can't do it. But suffice to say, the kids are going to LOVE it. I'm beginning to look forward to spring break almost as much as the kids! And I love the idea of going away for a few days. No TV, no computer, just us and some fun! Not that I won't miss you all, but you get what I mean.
And I love that you can book stuff online. You know, hubby and I were discussing the trip, and of course money came up- how much we'd need, how much we'll spend. And I had to remind him that because of this wonderful thing called the internet, we would not go into major debt to take this trip. Most of the big stuff ( Hotel, Disney tickets, etc ) are ALREADY PAID FOR! That's right- aside from food and souvenirs , we won't have to shell anything out- we already have! And since I've budgeted the monies out of our pay ( which normal would have been used on: Lunches out, trips to the store for stuff we really don't need, spent on other unessential stuff) it's no strain on the finances. Instead of how our parents had to do things. Which was either go through a travel agent ( and the fees that involved) or just save up all year ( something I'm not very good at- sad to say!) Or charge the heck out of the credit cards. We can start "planning and paying" for a vacations months in advance. So that by the time you go, all you need is what I call "pin money". Which really makes trips like this available to John Q.Public. It's a wonderful thing.
Not to mention, that I just figured out that I will be "getting paid" while we're there. So that will be "extra" funds should we need them. ( I'm ahead on all my bills, so that's a "freebie" check for me!) And Andy's birthday comes the week after our trip, so he's getting alot of his presents over there at Disney. We've already decided that, since he really doesn't need clothes, toys, or other such stuff. Should be good all around. ( Not too excited- am I?)
Well, the only other thing that could make my week is concert dates. But I'm sure that will take some time, as I *think* the only reason they've posted the ones they have so far is because the venues had already made them public. Maybe I'll have to e-mail that DJ I know- and see if he's heard anything? Could work, no?!
Ok, well I'd better get my butt off here and in the shower. I'll catch you all tomorrow. Hope your "hump day" is a good one!
Peace and Love, KC!

Def Leppard with Journey- AKA: Here we go again!
Well, interesting what the announcement of this tour has done in the "land o' Lep". Many are excited, some are pissed, others unsure. Here's mine, for what it's worth:
I have been a Journey fan for a LONG time. I've been to see them live 3 times, though I must confess here that it was in the "Steve Perry" days ( Escape, Frontiers, and Raised on Radio tours). While I know a lot of people are pissed that DL is not touring "solo"- I actually have some thoughts where this is concerned. Bear with me while I explain ( and give you all something to discuss for the next couple of days ;-) )
1- Ticket prices.
Now- I know I will risk the wrath of a few that say "Hey- if you like them- you'll find a way!" Well, quite honestly that's true. I will go to see them. It's the AMOUNT of shows I'll be able to see that will be decided by the ticket prices. And please understand that I don't mean if the tickets are, say $80 instead of the usual $45. That to me is negligible. That just means I don't buy that 2nd t-shirt. I am referring to the ticket prices such as you see for tours like the Rolling Stones, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Etc. The ones where in order to get closer than the "nose-bleed section" you must cough up $150+. That is very cost-prohibitive for me. I have 3 kids, a mortgage, car payments, and other things that have to be seen to first. Spending that on multiple concerts would either put me in chapter 11- or worse yet- Divorce court! But if they can keep the tickets under the $100 mark, I'm cool with it.
2- available "good" seats.
This one has me more worried. You see, Journey fans are a lot like we DL fans. They'd come close to selling their moms/kids for front row seats. So we've got some competition for the "good seats" which are hard to come by to begin with. I only hope that DL/Mark gets that survey/fan club/ whatever it is up and running before the tour starts. That way we *may* get presales before the Journey fans can get them. But I have to say, that what I've seen of Journey fans, they are on the whole nice people, and will be fun to "Rock out" with.
3- the "new material" arguments-
Here again, I *may* ruffle some feathers. Because I can see both sides of the coin. I too would LOVE for them to stay home, and finish that "new" album ( I know Yeah! Is technically a new album, but not new material!) But then again, it's not my place to tell the boys how to run their careers. They apparently want to be out there, and so I leave it up to them. Shit- since when have we DL fans expected 3 albums in that short a time frame? ( 2003-X, 2006 Yeah, and another next year?!!) I don't know about you all, but more than one album every 4 years is more than I've come to expect from the Leps. They've never been a band to "crank out" albums every year or so. Once again- Chill people! They must have a reason for what they're doing.
4- The short "Greatest Hits Set" again.
We don't know that do we? I've been to double-header tours where the bands BOTH play 2 hour sets. Fans on the OF are doing something that has always pissed me off ( My hubby is known to do this- believe me he gets it from me when he does!) JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS! We don't know anything about this tour yet. We don't know who's on first, where they are playing, how LONG the shows will be, and until that time, we shouldn't make judgments. Having said all that, what makes anyone think that they are going to "drop" the hits that made them? I don't care what tour you've seen them on, they only ever play 2 of the new songs, maybe 2 of the "obscure" songs ( not major hits- but fan faves) and the rest is PSSOM, ROA, Photograph, etc. Just as Journey can't go out and not play "Open Arms" "Lights" "Don't Stop Believing" etc. That is what a band does. Plays their hits for the fans. Bowie tried a tour that had him playing none of his old classics ( as have others) and it didn't do well at all. Because the majority of the fans WANT TO HEAR THE HITS! We, who go to several shows every tour are the exception- not the rule. We forget that sometimes. Maybe some day, they'll play a few shows for "just the die-hard" fans, where we get to hear all those songs we've been dying for. But until then............. ;-)
At any rate, I'm sure this will be a good time had by all. I intend to go to as many shows as I can. I've already warned them at work that DL is touring, and I will be taking time off for it. And Devon has e-mailed to say "She's in!" so that just makes my day! Let's just all sit back and chill, cause this summer is gonna ROCK!
Now, I open the floor for discussion. Feel free to disagree. This whole post is JMHO. I could be wrong. But you'll have to convince me ;-)
Peace and Love, KC

A few pics
Cute cake huh? It's a Disney princess castle cake, and please don't ask how much it cost!!!
Opening presents! ( that's me in the background- can you see the shirt????)
Older kids getting into the new "stuff". Kimmie got a few games that they all can play together, so hopefully she'll enjoy that!
We had a good time last night, although I really hate to have parties during the week. Everyone is so darn tired from work. But Kimmie is too young yet to understand that her party shouldn't be ON THE DAY. So we settled for last night. She enjoyed it, as did everyone else, so it's all good! ( sorry the last pic is fuzzy, but I can't seem to take a steady picture lately *sigh*)
Some other things- My Father-in-law seems to be doing better. His kidneys have started functioning, and they say he's not loosing any more blood. So although they're going to keep him in the hospital at least through the weekend, it looks like he'll be OK. Which has taken a load off our minds here! Thank you to all of you for your kind words and thoughts- You came through again- I knew you would! :-)
I've spent the morning doing the ol' "bill pay" thing. I've decided to "pre-pay" some of the bills this month. ( which means paying them on this check- instead of the next check as I normally would) That way- we'll have more money to "play with" on our little vacation. And since tour dates have begun to show on the OS- I've started tucking away my "spare change" for the tour. Since it's already been posted that they will be in Atlanta in July- it's a fairly safe bet that any Fl. dates will be right before/after that. So I'd better start packing my lunch, and curtailing my "e-bay-ing" for a little while! Because I'm bound and determined to get to more than one show this time- and Vegas if it happens again! ( I wonder if I can con hubby into working some overtime? Naw- I'll probably have to do it!) And the big fight about who's going with me this time makes me think I'll have to pay for 3 tickets for at least one concert. Becky wants to come this time- and Andy will NOT BE DENIED! Not to mention, with them touring with Journey- the ticket prices could be conciderably higher this time around ( which I've been afraid of!) So just call me "Cheap-skate KC" for awhile! lol
I work today, and I'm not looking forward to it. I had a talk ( well, it was more like a mild rant!) with our store manager-Mr. P.- Weds. I told him that things are getting so bad back there, that most of the "good" help ( our long time pharmacist Julie, "little Julie" the tech, and even myself) are just about at the end of our ropes. Julie's hubby came by work the other day, and told her to transfer, she didn't need this crap. And I tend to agree, though I'd hate to loose her- she's the only one keeping things "normal" around there! And if it doesn't get better soon, I'm going to transfer as well. I've been trying my best to keep my mouth shut, and just "go with the flow". But it's becoming an avalanche that can't be stopped, and I'm gonna get "buried" if I don't do something soon. I told Mr. P. that he should call the higher ups, or something to fix this situation soon. I also let him know about the possible "transfering" of all of us. So I think he realizes that it's getting "drastic" back there! I can only hope and pray someone does SOMETHING!
At least there is one nice thing about work today. As with a lot of "retailers", we do the raising of funds for various charities- by selling Hearts ( AHA) Sneakers( JDA) Pink ribbins ( you know ;-) ) etc. Well, our store was the top seller of Hearts this month. We sold 486 more than any other store in the district. So lunch is on the District Manager. It'll probably be pizza, but hey- at least I don't have to worry about packing a lunch today! And we're also in the running for "best store" in the state! Which would mean $100 gift cards for all! I know that may not be impressive- $100 gift card to Walgreens, but I work there everyday, which means I won't have to "pay" for drinks, munchies and assorted supplies with my own money for a little while. Which could help the "concert fund" conciderably! Looking at the sunny-side here!
Well, I think that's all I have for today. Except that it's FRIDAY!!!!
(P.S. to Kat- No, I don't think it's too risque for my blog!!!)
WANTING TO JOIN A BIKER CLUB ... TOO FUNNY!!
A little 80 year old lady had always wanted to join a local bikers club.
One day she goes up and knocks on a biker's door.
A big, hairy, bearded biker with tattoos all over his arms answers.
She proclaims, "I want to join your club."
The guy was quite amused, but says she needs to meet certain biker requirements in order to join he explains.
The biker asks; "Do you have motorcycle?
The little old lady replies, "Yep, my bike's parked over there and points to a flamed black Harley chopper in the driveway.
The biker asks, "Do you drink?"
The little old lady replies, "Yep, drink like a fish. I'll drink everyone in your club under the table."
The biker asks, "Do you smoke?"
The little old lady replies, "Yep, smoke like a chimney. At least 2 packs of cigarettes and three joints a day and a couple more in the evening, while I'm shooting pool."
The biker is very impressed and asks, "Last question, have you ever been picked up by the fuzz?"
The little old lady thinks for a minute and says, "Nope, but I've been swung around by my nipples a few times."
Well, as we "swing" into the weekend, ( harhar!) I just hope you all have a good one!
Peace and Love, KC!

It's a special day here!
Six years ago- some little imp came into my life:
To my youngest, Kimberly Alyse Fine:
Happy day Sweetie! Mommy loves you!!
Now, I have bad to go with the good. ( isn't that always the way of things?)
It seems that my Father-In-Law is in the hospital. From what I gather, he's had a ( mild) heart attack, and his kidneys aren't working properly. He' s also loosing blood somehow/where ( which caused the heart attack) and they've given him transfusions, with the hopes that they can find the leak and fix it. Last word is he's chipper ( joking with the nurses!) but he's 87 yrs old, and we all know that's a complication in and of itself. So if you all wouldn't mind sending some postive thoughts/prayers/karma his way, our family would appreciate it. He lives out in Seattle, so I'm getting updates from my one SIL that lives out there ( Diane, if your reading this: send Sid hugs from me!!!). It's got Hubby just a bit worried, which is expected since he's not there to see for himself how his Dad's doing. We can only wait and pray.
Work is the same, although I've decided to just do my job and not let things get to me. It's hard, but I'm coming home not *quite* so stressed as I was. I just wish someone would take the bull by the horns and fix what needs fixing, you know?
So with that, I have a cake to order ( a Mickey Mouse cake, btw- her choice!) and off to work I go. I hope you all are having a good week. I'll try to get around the blogs a little this morning. If not- I will DEFinately be here tomorrow, as I have the day off ( WOO HOO!)
Peace and Love, KC!
