Wow!

I'm finding out alot. Like half my links on my side-bar don't work anymore!
And how much crap I had on this thing before the "crash". Jeez!

Anywho, I work the late shift tonight. Technically, it's not my week to work it. But 2 of the other techs need the night off, so there you go! And it means I won't have to worry about it the night before my vacation starts, so that works for me. I've got so much planned for that week,it's scary! But the best part of it will be the DL concert on Monday! 10 days and counting!!! I've just got to get ahold of Devin, and find out where she lives ( would help seeing as we're staying there lol!)

So, I'd better get my rear-in-gear. Thank you Kat for the "donations"- and though school is out, I chose these 'cause they are just funny!
......................................
A kindergarten class had a homework assignment to find out something 'exciting' and relate it to the class the next day.

When the time came to present what they'd found, the first little boy the teacher called on walked up to the front of the class ..... and with a piece of chalk, made a small white dot on the blackboard and then sat back down.

Puzzled, the teacher asked him what it was.

"It's a period," he replied.

"I can see that," said the teacher, "but what is so 'exciting' about a period?"

"Darned if I know," he said, "but this morning my sister was 'missing' one. Mommy fainted; daddy had a heart attack, and the boy next door joined the Navy

.........................................
And because I owe you all!

What starts with F and ends with K

A first-grade teacher, Ms. Brooks, was having trouble with one of her
students. The teacher asked, "Harry, what's your problem?"

Harry answered, "I'm too smart for the 1st grade. My sister is in the
3rd grade and I'm smarter than she is! I think I should be in the 3rd
grade too!"

Ms. Brooks had had enough. She took Harry to the principal's office.

While Harry waited in the outer office, the teacher explained to the
principal what the situation was. The principal told Ms. Brooks he
would give the boy a test. If he failed to answer any of his questions
he was to go back to the 1st grade and behave. She agreed.

Harry was brought in and the conditions were explained to him and he
agreed to take the test.

Principal: "What is 3 x 3?"

Harry: "9."

Principal: "What is 6 x 6?"

Harry: "36."

And so it went with every question the principal thought a 3rd grader
should know.

The principal looks at Ms. Brooks and tells her, "I think Harry can go
to the 3rd grade."

Ms. Brooks says to the principal, "Let me ask him some questions."

The principal and Harry both agreed.

Ms. Brooks asks, "What does a cow have four of that I have only two
of?"

Harry, after a moment: "Legs."

Ms. Brooks: "What is in your pants that you have but I do not have?"

The principal wondered why would she ask such a question!

Harry replied: "Pockets."

Ms. Brooks: "What does a dog do that a man steps into?"

Harry: "Pants."

Ms. Brooks: What starts with a C, ends with a T, is hairy, oval,
delicious and contains thin, whitish liquid?"

Harry: "Coconut."

The principal sat forward with his mouth hanging open.

Ms. Brooks: "What goes in hard and pink then comes out soft and
sticky?"

The principal's eyes opened really wide and before he could stop the
answer, Harry replied, "Bubble gum."

Ms. Brooks: "What does a man do standing up, a woman does sitting
down and a dog does on three legs?"

Harry: "Shake hands."

The principal was trembling.

Ms. Brooks: "What word starts with an 'F' and ends in 'K' that means
a lot of heat and excitement?"

Harry: "Firetruck."

The principal breathed a sigh of relief and told the teacher, "Put
Harry in the fifth-grade, I got the last seven questions wrong......

...............................

HARHARHAR!
So, I'm still working on the e-mail/snail mail thing. I'll get back to you all next week, since I only have to work 3 days ( Happy 4th to me!)

Have a great weekend all!

YEAH!

I'MMMM BAACCCCCKKKKKK!!!

Ok, so I've loaded most of the stuff back on here. Well, all but my son's/Jon's games and such- they can do that themselves. All that's left to do is ITunes. And since I need to do some prep-work before I go that route- that will have to wait until I'm off that week of the concert. And behold- when I bought my new addy book, I managed to put all ya'all's snail-mail addresses in there. So I don't need to have you re-send them. If I'm missing any- I'll contact you directly. But I do still need e-mails. That's something I didn't save ( MY BAD!) I do have a few- mostly the ones that I have on my cell phone ( Kim, Rhonda, Kat, Alex etc) So if you want- send me a quick e-mail just in case. If not, when I get them all loaded, I'll try and post the "missing" ones here.

I know one thing for sure. As soon as I get everything back up here- I'm gonna do a back up dvd(s). This has DEFinately been a lesson well learned! I just have to figure out HOW to do them. So if any of you have any hints on that score- let me know! I just know that this thing won't feel fully comfortable until I have everything back to normal.

But one cool thing is- there's absolutely NO CRAP on here! Starting from scratch has eliminated all the junk that I may/may not have downloaded while I still didn't know what I was doing. And doing a virus scan takes about 2 minutes- instead of the 15-20 it took before!

But I'm glad to have this thing up and running. Nice to see clear pictures and video's again! So I'm off to check up with you all!

Peace and Love, KC!

P.S.- Still don't have anything for tomorrow- you know- FUNNIES????? ;-)

Cross your fingers!!!

The "Geek Squad" called last nite- my computer is ready for pick-up.
Now I just have to bring it home and see just how much is left on the thing! Do you think that they could have fixed that whole "system recovery" problem?

Cross your fingers- I'll be back later when I see what's left!
Peace, KC

**8 pm Edit**

Well, it's back and working! But- I've lost everything I had on my computer- files, programs- ALL OF IT!
I can get most of it back ( except for the stuff I bought off ITunes- I'll have to "re-buy them" ) But worst of all is all the e-mail addresses and such. I had all of your snail mail addresses on here as well. So I'm gonna join Rhonda in the request for your help with this. Those of you who got/get cards and stuff from me, could you e-mail me your addresses? And those of you that I just e-mail- could you just send me a "hi" e-mail, that way I can get all of them back? I had them all printed out during all the hurricanes, but I've lost that list and I think it must have been thrown away somewhere along the line.

And I'm going to have to spend a day just uploading all my graphics, pictures etc. But I'm at least back up, online, and can see you all clearly!

Gonna be a busy weekend on this computer for me! Oh and I lost all my funnies- so if you have any spare ones lying around ;-)

Peace and Love- KC!

Not Funny

TABTABTABTABTABTABTABTABTABTABTABTABTABTABTAB.........................

That is the story of my "on-line" life right now. I have done everything I can think of ( including buying a new one) to get this POS to recognize a mouse. It won't! PERIOD! So in order to "surf"- I must tab my happy-butt around the websites. Which, if you think about it is not easy. Heck, I can't even get onto Darren's site- you need a mouse to get in there! ( You can only get to his personal profile without a mouse- try it!) And some sites ( like melodicrock.com ) have SOOO many links that I have to tab myself to death to get anywhere! I keep telling myself that at least I can GET THERE- but it's still frustrating.

Another biotch is this darn screen. Pixel-HELL is what it is. Pictures are almost impossible to see- and don't even start on any kind of moving graphics! I have tried 7 ways from Sunday to get this stupid thing to adjust- but NOOOOOOOO! And I can't "cut-n-paste". No photobucket, no Jokes, nada! So just frustration. Never mind that when I type here, the screen keeps flipping like that old black 'n white tv I grew up with back in the day! *sigh*

Well, ASIDE from that- everything here is ok. Work is still a pain, and the story keeps getting stranger and stranger. "D" has actually told Julie ( our other pharmacist) that she thinks someone is "sabotaging" the pharmacy! Paranoid- no? Jeez, just because someone makes an admittedly stupid mistake ( I wasn't there on the day, so it could not have been me!) She thinks someone is out to make us look bad?! Shit- she's the worst offender when it comes to that! But she's been saying how she wants out of there ( PLEASE!) and Doug is more than happy to come back to us, now that he has his license. And we get on with him just fine! Now it just has to HAPPEN- AND before one of us goes "voodoo" on "D"'s ass ( and after yesterday- it could be me!)

I managed to get a killer video coming home from work last night. But alas, it will be some time before I can post it. A sunset on one side, with a killer thundercloud going off on the other. Goes with the saying we have down here: "If you don't like the weather- wait 5 minutes, it'll change!"

Well, I cna't stand looking at this screen flip anymore. I'm planning on getting to the library tomorrow- So perhaps I'll be able to post something more interesting. And to think I'd been working on a cool graphic for this blog's 2 year anniversary ( which is Friday, btw) But it's somewhere in "geek-hell", and I'm stuck watching the bouncing screen!

Have a great week all!

Peace and Love, KC!

Well, I'm trying here!!!

I've managed to get this old POS tower up and working. Though the screen is severely pixelated ( no- it will NOT adjust- POS!) and it refuses to recognize any of the mouses ( mice- meeces- whatever!) that we try to hook up! Which means I can get online, check my e-mail, pay my bills, and read *some* of the websites. But as I have none of my links here, it's darn near impossible. And of course, anything requiring a "mouse-click" is out of the question! But hey- I'm here! Oh, and there is the little matter of this stupid thing not letting me post on comments!? So you all will just have to know that I've been there via my ISP. At least until I can fix this further!

Well, here's what happened. We went to the BIL's house as usual. When we arrived home, Becky informed us that the "shelf" that holds the keyboard had come out, and while falling hit the tower. (No visable damage mind!) Since one of the "idiosycracies of said tower is a total hatred of dust- I figured that some had shifted inside to someplace it did not like. SOOOO- having had a couple of drinks that evening, I told Jon I would look at it in the morning.

Well, good-ol' hubby- he just couldn't wait until I got up to look at it. NOOOOO! He wanted to read his political blogs, and wasn't willing to wait! I don't know exactly what he did, but I woke up to him saying " How long does 'System Recovery' take?"
OMFG! No- he did not just say that! I asked him what he was doing, but of course, it was too late. AND THEN to add insult to injury- he backed out of SR in the middle! ( of course, this was right after I told him what he was doing to our computer!!) So then it was realized that he had truly killed the machine. Made for a very bad Father's day for him.

So I took the tower down to the "Geek Squad" ( whom I have a 3 year service plan with) and they've called back and said that the video card was shot- and possibly the whole thing needs to be replaced. The only good thing is that I would get that for FREE! So it's now a wait-and-see situation. I'm still trying to make this tower work better, but I'm not holding out any hope. This thing is almost 7 years old, and has been the kids "play" computer for ages! AND it has no antivirus/spyware/adware protection. I'm gonna try to get to my e-mail at the library instead- at least those computers are more protected.

All that being said- know that I'm here. And if I'm only a ghost around the web for awhile- bear with me until I've either gotten the tower back- or fixed this one up some!
At least I'm not totally isolated. God, you never realize how much you use one of these things until you don't have it huh?

Now, on to other things.
Kim and Rhonda- Thanks for the messages! You all really made me feel better- and not so "alone" :-)

And this whole Journey/live/Memorex thing is something huh?! I was caught up reading all about that Sat. afternoon, and had a whole "rant" worked up to post on Sunday. Needless to say.........

Michael- When is that show your in again? I'm gonna send my cousin down if I can to take pictures! ( If I do- I'll make sure she says hi!)

Steph- Come on down here to a show- We'll have a good time, I promise!!!

Robin- I left the JBJ boards for the same reason- to many teens with silly attitudes- YUK!
Kate- Loved the pics! ( although my screen right now sucks!) YOU LUCKY, LUCKY GIRL!!!!

Um, I've probably forgotten a few- but I'm trying! I promise I'll get to the library one of these days, and leave you all comments. In the meantime- know I'm keeping up as best as I can.

Have a great week ( what's left of it!) And I'll be back as soon as I can!

Peace and Love, KC!

Sorry!

About being MIA here. It just seems like lately I've had no energy. None. I go to work, come home and crash. Just getting by on the basics- eat, sleep ( not enough though!) and work. And even that's been hard. My legs have been giving me major fits the last week or so. Even with the new sneakers, and taking time off due to my ankle ( which is much better now!)- I'm still aching half the night.

I did try to post yesterday, but due to "Alberto", every time I've been on this thing the last couple of days- the power's gone out! Doesn't bode well for the rest of the "rainy season" since all we really got here was some much-needed rain! Oh sure, it rained sideways a few times- but not what I would call "major" storms. I happened upon one of our friendly FPL ( which stands for Florida Power & Light- AKA Florida Pillage & Loot! ;-) ) guys working down the street. He said they knew there was a "weak link" somewhere in my neighborhood, and they were trying to find it so this wouldn't be a regular occurance. I mean, we get thunderstorms almost every day in summer- if they don't fix it- they will have a very angry neighborhood on their hands!

*** pauses now while "Rock On" is on VH1***

WTF????
The video just ended- and on the credit wording in the lower corner- it said "NICKELBACK"???????
Someone at VH1 needs to get a new pair of glasses! Or a music lesson! JEEZ!

Ok, so tomorrow I go to the Insurance guy- and get all that straightened out. Other than that- I've got the day off. My cousins are still at Disney, and won't be back until late tomorrow night. So I plan on resting, and catching up around here with the cleaning. I'm doing the Friday closing/Sunday shift again this week. Which means I won't be here for Father's day. So Jon's gift from me is spending the whole day alone with his kids. I'm sure he'll think that's special ;-). I usually take him out to dinner/lunch. I guess maybe I'll do that on Saturday instead. So now I'd better get my rear in gear. I've got to get dressed ( yes, it's 10:30- and I'm still in my PJ's lol) and clean up the kitchen before work. At least I only work a 6-hr. shift today. My legs are still screaming from the 2- 9 hour shifts I've worked so far!
Or maybe I'll go check up on you all before I do. Or perhaps go watch the video again. God knows- I could stare at those guys all day!

Have a great "Hump-day" and I'll be back here tomorrow!

Peace and Love, KC!

Well, another week shot to hell!

And with that said, sorry I've been lacking in the "post" department. It's very hard to get private time to post here- what with Andy hanging over my shoulder like a vulture, and the girls in a constant state of noise! Add to that the friend-ly "invasions" and to just sit here, collect my thoughts ( hardest of all with all the distractions) and type for 5-10 minutes is darn near impossible! I come up with ideas while sitting quietly late at night/early morning, but by the time I'm actually on this thing- trying to remember my name, let alone a topic- is near impossible! The bright spot in all this is I have a way now of keeping the house clean. NO FRIENDS ALLOWED- unless the house meets my "cleanliness" approval! Cruel? perhaps. Clever? YOU BETCHA! I had Becky and her girlfriend clean my entire livingroom in the space of 15 minutes yesterday- just so she could sleep over! Saved me a bit of work this weekend- and she got her friend here- so who's stupid? NOT ME!

I ended up not going to work yesterday. Sometime on Wed's shift, I twisted something in my ankle. And when I tried to get up and walk yesterday morning- I couldn't put hardly any weight on that foot! (its better now- but I spent most of yesterday with it propped up!) Since I knew that the pharmacy had plenty of help- I called out. I'm sorry, but they had me running around like a mad-women for 3 days straight. So it's no wonder my poor legs gave out! They ( read "D" here!) have not gotten the hint that my legs are still not up to what they used to be. I can't run a marathon ( which is what it's like- running back and forth for 9 & 1/2 hours!) with my legs still suffering the after-affects of all the chemo. I mentioned this to Mrs. H ( the asst. I talked to on the phone yesterday when calling out) and she said that she'd already brought that to Mr. P's attention. So she said something is gonna be said to "D" about duty rotations. So that hopefully will not happen again!

We're gonna have a full schedule this weekend. My Cousin, her daughter ( "S") and kids are all comming down for a couple of weeks. They're going to Disney next week for a few days, but most of the time they'll be here. I haven't seen her daughter since she was about 17. She's 40 now! And her eldest and mine were born about 2 weeks apart, so that should be interesting. They're driving straight down in one shot from Altoona, PA.- so they should get here today sometime. I'm thinking we'll go over Sunday. That will give them tomorrow to get rested from the haul down. I'm really looking forward to it- "S" used to spend her summers with my family growing up- and she's as close to a "little sister" as I've ever had. Which is fair, since her mom is like a big sister to me. So concider this a "family reunion" if you will! Don't worry, pictures WILL be taken- and of course posted!

Well, It's Friday. Becky and I both have eye exams today ( please, please- NO BIFOCALS!!!) and then we're clear for the weekend. I'm even going to get some laundry done today- so the weekend will be clear for fun and frolic! Speaking of frolic...................

Don't know if you've had this one up there or not:

Martha vs. Maxine .....

*Martha's Way*
Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of a sugar cone to prevent ice
cream drips.
*Maxine's Way *
Just suck the ice cream out of the bottom of the cone, for Pete's sake! You are
probably lying on the couch with your feet up eating it, anyway!

*Martha's Way*
To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes.
*Maxine's Way *
Buy Hungry Jack mashed potato mix, keep it in the pantry for up to a year.

*Martha's Way*
When a cake recipe calls for flouring the baking pan, use a bit of the dry cake
mix instead and there won't be any white mess on the outside of the cake.
*Maxine's Way *
Go to the bakery! They'll even decorate it for you.

*Martha's Way*
If you accidentally oversalt a dish while it's still cooking, drop in a peeled potato
and it will absorb the excess salt for an instant "fix-me-up."
*Maxine's Way *
If you oversalt a dish while you are cooking, that's too bad. Please recite with me
the real woman's motto: "I made it and you will eat it and I don't care how bad it
tastes!"

*Martha's Way*
Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator and it will keep for
weeks.
*Maxine's Way *
Celery? Never heard of it!

*Martha's Way*
Brush some beaten egg white over pie crust before baking to yield a beautiful
glossy finish.
*Maxine's Way *
The Mrs. Smith frozen pie directions do not include brushing egg whites over the
crust so I don't.

*Martha's Way*
Cure for headaches: take a lime, cut it in half and rub it on your forehead. The
throbbing will go away.
*Maxine's Way *
Take a lime, mix it with tequila, chill and drink!

*Martha's Way*
If you have a problem opening jars, try using latex dishwashing gloves. They give
a non-slip grip that makes opening jars easy.
*Maxine's Way *
Go ask that very cute neighbor if he can open it for you.

*Martha's Way*
Don't throw out all that leftover wine. Freeze into ice cubes for future use in
casseroles and sauces.
*Maxine's Way *
Leftover wine??????????? HELLO !!!!!!! :o)
..................................................
I don't know about you all- But I'm a MAXINE all the way!!! lol!

Have a great weekend, and I'll be here if anyone need me!

Peace and Love! KC!

P.S.- has anyone noticed the "one-way-ticket" on Senff.com? Could he finally gotten clearance to move over? I hope so!

P.S.S.- The new video is up at the OS for "Rock On"- OMFG- is it GOOD!!!!
If those guys looked any better- it would be illegal in at least 27 states!!! ;-)

Yes- I'm still here!

I've just been busy with life- as it were! And work, family- geez, you think I need a life or something ;-)

Well, what's new in my world. Not a whole lot. Mom's putting up a fuss about the radiation treatments. She's under the impression that she doesn't need it! "They got the cancer out, right- so why should I need all these treatments & Dr.s and such!" Geez, Mom- you think maybe, just maybe- if they've missed ONE CELL- and that CELL could multiply- that you might want to KILL IT????????? She's been complaining about having to go there every day for a month ( minus the weekends of course) just to "put money in some dr's pocket" ??????????????? I swear- she just doesn't understand the possibilities here. And she won't listen to me about it ( Surely- I can't possibly understand, now can I?!) After everything she saw me go through last year- she should by all rights be scared shitless! But not HER! It's just an inconvenience to her life, but not one she really wants to deal with!
Michael, can I borrow your Carp- someone down here needs a beating!!!

One of the problems/perks with living down here now, is that everywhere you look there are programs/articles about hurricanes. And how to prepare for them. As June 1st started the season, we've been bombarded with info, some of which has caused some tension here. I mean, do we have our house insured ENOUGH? Should we stay here if one hits, or should we run ( Not that there is anywhere down here that's "safe"- we'd have to go clear to Georgia probably!) And even at work, there are papers we're required now to fill out. With all our contact info- where would we go, our various phone #'s, could we work right after/before- do we have kids, pets, elderly in our household that may require special attention. I basically told Mr. P that it depended on how bad the storm was. If it was the size of say- Katrina or Andrew- We're out of here! Otherwise, we'd probably ride it out at home. Or go somewhere inland further. I don't know how they'd expect us to be able to committ to something like that before we see what we're up against? I am going to call our insurance guy though. I don't think we have enough on this house to rebuild if it should blow over. Not at today's prices at any rate!( I just looked, it's what I would call "borderline"- It would probably be enough, but I'll still want it increased. We saw how prices went through the roof last time- no pun intended!)

Well aside from that, and my house in a constant state of "messy" I don't have a lot more to say today. I did manage to get a video ( small though it may be) uploaded:

I know it's small, but I didn't realize I had the camera on the wrong setting until I got home. And since I was driving while shooting, I couldn't fuss with it too much!

I'm closing tonight, then opening tomorrow ( I hate that! But at least I'm working with Julie, and not "D"!) So I'm going to go check on you all, and get ready for work. Hope you all are having a good week!
Peace and Love, KC!

Well, This week just flew by!

I can't believe it's Friday already! I guess having the kids home really cuts into my "private" time. That, and all the stuff going on in "Lep land"! Didn't they look and sound wonderful on the Rock honors show?! Can't wait for July!

I I also got my latest "Dark Hunter" novel in the mail this week. So I'm up to my eyeballs in fun reading as well. I really can't stress how great these books are. I'm totally addicted to them.

Well, I've got a house right now that looks as though Hurricane season has already started- so I'll be back sometime this weekend with more to say. Meanwhile.....

...........................................
Dear Tide:

I am writing to say what an excellent product you have! I've used it all of my married life, as my Mom always told me it was the best! Now that I am in my fifties I have found it even better!

In fact, about a month ago, I spilled some red wine on my new white blouse. My inconsiderate and uncaring husband started to belittle me about how clumsy I was, and generally started becoming a real pain in my butt. Well, one thing led to another and somehow I ended up with his blood on my new white blouse too!

I grabbed my bottle of Tide with bleach alternative, and to my surprise and satisfaction, all of the stains came out of my blouse, the rug and the floor! In fact, the stains came out so well that the detectives who came by yesterday told me that the DNA tests on my blouse were negative and then my attorney called and said that I was no longer considered a suspect in the disappearance of my husband.

What a relief! Going through menopause is bad enough without being a murder suspect!

I thank you, once again, for having such a great product. Well, gotta go now, I want to write to the Hefty bag people ...

9. The man I'm flirting with used to be my 5th grade teacher.

10. The urge to take off articles of clothing, stand on a table and
sing or dance becomes strangely overwhelming.

11. My eyes just don't seem to want to stay open on their own so I
keep them half closed and think it looks exotically sexy.

12. I've suddenly taken up smoking, and become really good at it.

13. I yell at the bartender, who (I think) cheated me by giving me
just lemonade, but that's just because I can no longer taste the gin.

14. I think I'm in bed, but my pillow feels strangely like the
kitchen floor.

15. I start every conversati on with a booming, "DON'T take this the
WRONG WAY but..."

16. I fail to notice that the toilet lid's down when I sit on it.

17. My hugs begin to resemble wrestling take-down moves.

18. I'm tired so I just sit on the floor (wherever I happen to be
standing) and take a quick nap.

19. I begin leaving the buttons open on my button fly pants to
cut down on the time I'm in the bathroom away from my drink.

20. I take my shoes off because I believe it's their fault that
I'm having problems walking straight

( not that *I* would know anything about any of these..... ;-))
