It's That Time of Year!!!!!!

I hope you all have a safe, happy New Year's Eve. We'll probably be spending it at home, with the kids. Either that or the BIL's house. We just don't like to go out anymore. Places are too crowded, full of sometimes obnoxious drunks, and the idiots on the road are just scary. If you go out tonight- make sure you bring your best friend: a designated driver! Or take a cab! Just be safe!!! I want to "see" you all here tommorrow! I am off to the grocery store, to get munchies for the evening, and the football games tommorrow! SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!!!!! Peace, KC

This looked like fun!

Plain Sight
B:

Your Beauty lies
in Plain Sight. Plain, simple and the girl next
door. People tend overlook you as you are the
"normal girl", but you're actually
very beautiful. And you have plenty about you to
set you apart, but more that
lets you blend. People love the stability you have
because as others may come
and go, you will always be there and you may always
be the same. You like simple
things and that's what people like about you. You
most likely enjoy things most
consider normal, like movies, shopping, that sort
of thing and are very friendly
and probably have many friends. You are sweet and
kind and that shows on you,
but you're also strong and not very naive. You're a
rather well-rounded
individual. Even though some people pass you off as
just another girl, shrug it
off because they don't know what they're
missing.

Some Things

Well, not really a surprise!
I will be back later, but I have a few things to do before my company gets here ( like clean the bathrooms- sound familiar Rhonda? ;-)) I'll be back later- maybe with a pic or two! Have a great day! KC

Memories,,,,,, (Bear with me)

Hundreds of lights, holly and pine boughs everywhere. A giant platform at the end of the livingroom, complete with train, village, little people skating on a homemade ice-rink. Piles of presents that would make Donald Trump blush........
That's the memories that I have of Christmas past. I am the daughter of a poor boy. He had no father to provide, his mother worked 2-3 jobs to make ends meet. He was lucky to get an apple and a orange in his stocking. There were no presents under HIS tree. They were lucky to have food on the table. He made a vow to himself- IF he ever made it, that would never be his kid's version of Christmas. He did, and I grew up in a "Christmas wonderland". It would take us all of Thanksgiving weekend to decorate for the holidays, and they would stay up 'til mid-January.
I married Sept. 1, 1984. A man who's family were of mixed background. Father Jewish, Mother Anglican ( Welsh war bride). They never decorated ( against dad's religion you know!) Took us awhile to come to a balance in all that. Two months after our wedding, I got the call. Mom crying, saying "come home NOW". A friend of the family came to my front door shortly after I hung up, and I saw she was shaking. I knew then- DAD. He died of a Heart Attack while at work. I thought the sun had crashed out of the sky. It was years before I could celebrate Christmas, it was just too painful.
Why do I bring this up? For my friends out there in "blogland" that have had a rough time this season. I know how you feel. When I read of your pain, I feel it with you. It is perfectly normal, no, essential that you grieve for what you've lost. A piece of your heart that will never be the same.
But I know too that hole will, eventually heal. Not entirely. There are still moments at this time of year ( well, all year truth be told) when the knife cuts again. That's normal, don't fight it. If it didn't, than that means you didn't care- DIDN"T LOVE! And that, is just wrong. My father never knew what I became when I "grew up". Never knew his 3 beautiful grandkids. Not in person, anyway. But he's here, in spirit. Everytime I set up that beat-up train, put those ancient ornaments on the tree, old fake piece of mistletoe that I hang in the entry hall. HE IS HERE. And that helps get me through. The pain is tempered by a warmth that reminds me of why the season is. LOVE.
So for Terri, and all of you that have lost someone dear, it's ok to feel the pain. Love is worth it. I've learned that. {{{{{HUG}}}}}} KC

Just another day in paradise????

Christmas afternoon in "Sunny Florida" HAHAHA!
Yes, this was what it looked like. Actually, that was one of the better moments. I swear the rain just poured down all day. This pic was taken out of my BIL's garage. It was so windy and cold ( for us, anyway!) that most of us kept our coats on all day! Strange weather all around this holiday though.
You have all read about my problems with little miss Kimmie. How she refuses to pick up after herself. Well, all of her Christmas presents are in bags in the garage. She REFUSED to pick up her share ( which was the bulk of the mess!), so she lost all her toys! We begged, cajoled, yelled, tried every tactic under the sun, and she just would not pick up her stuff. So now she has none. Actually, she has now got 1 toy back ( her V-smile). She has been told that if she takes care of it, in a couple of days, she can have one more. And so it will go until she either learns her lesson, or the toys truly go in the trash ( or Good Will). I hate doing this, but she has to learn responsibility for her belongings. She can't go on thinking her stuff will be handled by everyone else. I'm sick of it- and so are her brother and sister. They have been the ones to "pick up the slack" and it isn't fair. So we'll see how well she's learned her lesson.......
I don't have any Dr's appointments this week ( YEA!!) so this is gonna be "family" week. I'm planning on taking the kids to the movies, and take them and their gift cards out shopping. I just hope it warms up, cause I don't want to get sick at this point. There's a lot of "stuff" going around, and I'm not allowed to catch it. And that friend of mine from my youth is coming by on Thursday to see us. That should be interesting, since we haven't seen each other since we were 19! Oh and there's the mountain of laundry, the weeds in the garden, those pics that need hanging...................
Have a good day, and for those of you working- don't work too hard ;-)!!!! Peace, KC

Monday morning stuff!

Does this look familiar to you all? Hubby saw this in the newspaper yesterday, and asked if I had sent a pic of our house to the paper!lol! Not to far off really, as the kids had their stuff scattered over the entire livingroom!!!!!!
We had a wonderful Christmas. Becky got enough "Happy Bunny" stuff to keep her happy for ages. Andy got his Gamecube, and Kimmie her V-Smile. Dad got his PC games he wanted, and has been working on them since yesterday ( hence my absence here!). I got the usual- Perfume, a new gargoyle ( named him Lestat!) But the biggest was the last gift. I was the last in line to open, and everyone looked at me with big smiles. I was thinking, ok, maybe a portable CD player ( I borrow my Becky's to take to Chemo ) I opened the top, looked down at the box........ and LOST IT!

It was a U2 IPOD!!!!!!!!! Where in the HE** did he get the money????!! I swear, I had to leave the livingroom and go get the Kleenex, I was so blown away! I wanted one, sure- but I know what they cost, and never even hinted as a joke that he should get one for me!! I still look at it and just can't believe I have it in my hand! I spent the rest of Christmas just floating. God, I love my husband! I guess he's earned a couple of years worth of brownie points, HUH?! I have to spend some time today figuring out how to work it. I loaded all my mp3's on Christmas morning, but I have to arrange everything and program it proper.
It's 42 degrees outside this morning, so I'll probably just hang for awhile, and wait for it to warm up before I venture outside. I hope you all had a merry, and have a great day!!! Peace, KC

Well, It's Christmas Eve!

The house is clean, the presents wrapped. This evening we go to the BIL's house for a little " Christmas Cheer". Since it is unlikely that I will be back here again until Sunday or Monday, I leave you all with this:

My Christmas Wishes
PEACE- ABOVE ALL & TO ALL!

To My Family
That we will continue to be a solid foundation for each other. With Love, Laughter, and yes, Tears. You are my rock, my soul, my strength! My reason for being, and I love you!

To My Friends
You are my Light! Sometimes bright and happy, sometimes soft and soothing- but always there. To guide my oftimes weary self through this thing we call life. To warm me in a way that defies words, but is more valuable than all the riches in this world. I Treasure you all!

May you and all whom you love have a joyful Christmas!
Blessed be!
With all my love and more, KC

Like I needed this!

Well, I went to the Radiologist yesterday, and I'm not sure what to think...
First of all, He said I should definitely have radiation treatments. Fine! I can understand that. But then He said I would start them In March??? Then why would I have to see him now, 3 days before Christmas, and spend a $40 co-pay, to figure that out????? Sheesh, lousy timing IMHO. It could have waited until after the new year at least!
Then he hits me with the biggie-( my apologies to any of my male readers, this may make you all squirm a bit) If I have reconstruction, there is a 40% chance the radiation will cause problems with "it" down the line. So what that means ( bluntly- once again to the guys- SORRY!) the radiation may cause my "new" breast to turn into a rock 2 to 3 years down the line!!!! And it doesn't matter if I have the radiation Before or after the reconstruction! Period! Now I have to talk to the Plastic Surgeon about it. Maybe he'll be a little more optimistic????
I have to finish wrapping, and get 2 more stocking stuffers for the hubby. I got my bonus check from Walgreen in the mail yesterday, along with a card from my boss with $100 cash ( His bonus to me!) and one of those "Livestrong" bracelets. He said he has the pink "Breast Cancer" ones on order. Apparently everyone in the Pharmacy are wearing them - a solidarity symbol! How sweet is that??!!
I'll catch you all later! (Don't start the egg nog without me!! HEHEHEHE!) KC

Just a short note!

IT'S DONE!
I know- better late than never, but bear in mind I had to fix the thing before we could decorate it. It was leaning to the left so bad I thought half the ornaments would fall off! It's crammed in the "entertainment" corner of the livingroom as it is. Yes, that corner is where my piano, stereo, kid's computer and various other things are at the moment. Still trying to re-do my living room and that is the area not yet done.
I've got 1/2 of my presents wrapped, and gonna finish today if it kills me. Hopefully before I go to the radiologist! And I have to go to the mall and exchange one present I ordered for the teenager. I got her a t-shirt, but their size chart on the site was WAY OFF! I don't know how they could call that shirt a "Women's" small- It would barely fit Kimmie!!!
I'll let you all know how it goes with the Doc later- Have a good day! KC

Comming down the Home Stretch!

And I think I'll make it!
The tree is now decorated- well, sort of. The lights & tinsle are on, and some of the ornaments. The problem is I ran out of steam, and the only one putting on said ornaments was Kimmie. So only the bottom 1/3rd of the tree is complete. But I have all day today to finish the job. I have "gotten rid of" 2 out of the three kids, and plan to finish the tree, and wrap all afternoon. Now, I just have to get rid of the Teenager! Road trip to the mall? Perhaps.
I want all of this done because I go tommorrow to see a Radiologist. I don't know if I will be recieving radiation treatments (as well as Chemo),but my oncologist felt I should check with one though. Then Thursday I have to take a MUGA(?) test. It's basically a test to see if my heart is in good shape. Apparently, the Chemo that I will be on after surgery has a "slight" incidence of causeing heart problems if your's is not in good working order. GREAT! Now I have more to look forward to lol! Anyhow, I just want to make sure that I am done with shopping before I have to run into town for these appointments. That way, if needed, I can "kill 2 birds with one stone" so to speak. And I just recieved word from my Disability that I am now cleared through the end of January. One less problem to worry about, though I hope to be back to work by then! I have been told that Walgreens would hold my spot through March, but I really don't want to be gone that long! Plus, my actually disability pay will only stretch 'til the end of January, and I just can't see how we'd survive on just my Hubby's pay. If we could, I wouldn't really be working at all anyway! Oh well, no use worrying over something I can do nothing about at this point!
Have a great day, and Happy Yule! "Talk" at y'all soon! KC

Monday, and I'm back!!!!!!!

And here we are, just a stone's throw from Christmas, and my tree still sits naked in my livingroom. If I don't get that darn thing decorated today- I'm just gonna.....
Ok, enough of that! Went to Hubby's party Saturday, and it was pretty good. It would have been more fun if I could have bowled with everyone, but my energy level just wouldn't have handled it. As it was, one of Jon's co-worker's wives has recently finished with her bout with breast cancer, so I spent quite a bit of the evening talking with her. Got some info about what I am feeling mentally/physically that you just don't get from the drs and nurses. All in all, it was very informative. And I have her #, so if I have any more questions, she's just a phone call away. I've always been the type to handle things on my own, but it's nice to know she's there if there's the need!
Yesterday, I finally had my "zombie" day. Just couldn't get my sh*t together for love nor money. The house looks like it too! I would give my eye teeth for someone to come here for about 2 hours, and just do a few things to help ( vacuum, dust, sweep- ANYTHING!) It seems like I get one little thing done, and I have to sit down for an hour to rest. And with all the kids home for the next 2 weeks, they will be right behind me making new messes no doubt! And with Mom comming over to help with the tree, I'm embarrassed to let her in to see just how messy the place is!( even though I know she understands, I hate to see that "my daughter is a lousy housekeeper" look in her eyes) Oh well, such is life.
I may be in for a treat in the next week or so. An old friend of mine from elementary school is comming down to Fl. for the next 2 weeks. She'll be in Ft. Lauderdale, but she wants to get together. I haven't seen her since we were 18!! We were best friends growing up, and I really hope I can work this out, because I think it would be wonderful to see just how we've both "turned out".We both have 3 kids, and while we lost touch for awhile, I think it would be a blast to see each other again. Maybe it's my "mood" lately, but I seem to be taking people in my life much more seriously than I have in the past. I have always appreciated my family, but friends, while important in my life, are even more so now.
Well, I'd better get off this thing, and get dressed. If I don't at least clean the kitchen, I'll never show my face in public again... J/K
Have a great day ! Peace, KC!

Well, I'm still here!

Scares you huh?!
Well, as I stated yesterday. I'm now on Procrit. I'm sure you all have seen the comercials, it's supposed to help keep my red/white/cell counts up. The thing is, it is a shot given just under the skin. OUCH!! That sucker burned like a mother! I'm no wimp, and that was not a good time. And I have to get the shot weekly *sigh*. Oh well, if it helps......
I'm going out today to get something to wear for Saturday. It seems that the only "dress" pants I have are not fitting at the moment. Another unfortunate side-affest of Chemo is weight-gain. Your metabolism is slowed, and with energy levels, well, I just can't get the darn things closed. (actually I can, but it's not pretty lol!) So since Mom works at Beall's, ( think Macys, Kohl's , mid-price dept store, based in Florida) and gets a 20% discount, we're gonna go quick to get me something presentable to wear. This will also hopefully motivate me to go if I'm not feeling up to par. I'm spending tommorrow just resting, so I can "recharge" if needed.
Steph- I can't begin to tell you how touched I am that you thought to send a card to "cheer" me up. Especially since you have soooo much on your own "plate" at the moment. Don't worry if you can't get it patched back together. Your good intention is enough to sustain me!
You all don't realize just how much your prayers and thoughts get me through! I am only a "trooper" because I have a "squad" of friends that are second to none!!! I will match all of you against any group, and bet the farm we'd win! I am hoping that I will be through all of "this cancer shit" in time for the tour next spring/summer. Because I am already filling my "Lep-trek" fund piggie-bank, in hopes of traveling to meet some of you. You see, I would really love to thank you all in person for all that you have done for me. I MUST. Words on paper do not suffice. Thank you's are not enough. And when we meet, the first round will be on me- my treat! I'll be the one with arms open wide.
Peace my friends :-) KC

Barefootin'..... SO ME!

Well, I got a surprise today. Seems my blood count was finally down, so I got a shot of Procrit to go with my Chemo. Maybe, just maybe it help me from being so drained this time! SO, What do you think??

Whispering Nightmare
Whispering Nightmare

What sort of Nightmare are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

Stolen from Rhonda ( via lady Strange ). Interesting, to say the least!
Today I go for my last ( at least until after surgery) Chemo treatment. Mom is supposed to meet me beforehand, so that we can go to my favorite restaurant for lunch first. Sort of my "last meal" , or at least the last one that will taste normal for the next 2 weeks or so. It will probably be Christmas before the affects of this one wear off. I just hope I don't get "knocked down" this time. The Kids are looking forward to Jon's Christmas party this comming weekend. It's a bowling party at the local lanes, with food catered by Carrabbas, and after which the adults go to the comedy club while the kids continue to "bumper bowl". I'd really hate to put a damper on all that, since this is the first year that it's been a whole family thing.
Usually, it's just the adults at a fancy local place. I have insisted that if I'm not up to it, they go anyway- but I don't think they will. POO! They worry too much!
Got my shopping done! Except for a jacket that I just ordered for Jon, which should be here by mid-week next week. Sent my cards ( watch your mail friends ;-)) and all I need to do is wrap! This is probably the first time in recorded history that I won't be up until 3 am on Christmas morning wrapping; WOO HOOO!!!!!!
If you don't hear from me in the next couple of days, don't worry. I will be close, actually about 4 feet away on the bed, trying to shake off the meds! Or maybe I'll get lucky this time...........

Peace! KC

OOOKKAAAYYY!

I AM 58% INTERNET ADDICT!
58% INTERNET ADDICT
I am pretty addicted, but there is hope. I think I'm just well connected to the internet and technology, but it's really a start of a drug-like addiction. I must act now! Unplug this computer!

Not suprising, concidering I'm stuck at home lately.
Well, I't finally feeling like winter down here. Temps down in the 40's at night, and we're supposed to have a freeze Weds. morning. I know, you all are just sobbing in your coffee's right about now! But it was 80 degrees not 2 days ago, so it's not like we have the chance to get "used" to the temps. I suppose that's why people get sick so fast down here. One day your in shorts, the next your wearing gloves lol!
Speaking of which, when the kids got dressed for school this morning, I found out that the only one with warm clothes that fit was Kimmie. My eldest doesn't even have a long sleeve shirt that fits! So instead of finishing up my Christmas shopping, I'll have to buy some warm clothes for everyone. Even Jon's flannel shirts are more suited for the "rag bin" than his back! Damn, that wasn't exactly in the budget, but the last thing I need right now is for anyone to get sick. With my immunity to germs at a low ebb, I'd have to stay away from them, and that is just not in my "Mommy" programming. I found out something else too, my head is really cold! I guess I never realized how much insulation hair really is!
Have you noticed how everyone seems to hate mondays? Is it perhaps because "Murphy" likes to drop in? He did this morning! Jon was taking a shower, and all of a sudden I heard a loud "Clunk" in the bathroom. It scared me because I thought he'd fallen or something, especially when I heard the "F*ckin' A!" comming from in there. It turns out, the shower head fell off. Well, not just the head, but the whole thing came out from the wall of the shower! We have one of those sunken tiled showers, which is now WORTHLESS! It looks like we'll have to tear out some of the tiles to fix it too. Looks like I'll have to put on my "Mrs. Fix-it" hat again, as my hubby is not exactly talented in that department. Just what I needed 2 days before Chemo. BLAH! He can just use the Kid's bathroom until I'm up to it!
A question before I leave you all. I'd like to play around with graphics- maybe figure out how to make some with flash or moving images ( Like Rhonda's Merry Christmas one). Do I need to buy a program for that, and if so, which one? Paint Shop pro perhaps? I'd hate to spend the money on one, and find out it's not what I need. So any advice you all could give would be appreciated! That's all for now, Have a good day! Love and Peace, KC

Happy Friday!!

I'm taking a break today. I went shopping for about an hour and a half with mom yesterday, and when we got back to her car, I noticed my ankles were swollen big-time! I could barely get my sandals off when I got home! I hate these meds I'm on, everyday there's a new "kink" in my armour! So I'll do the piddly stuff today, and see how it goes. I'm out of money anyway until payday(s) next week. I leave you all with this- not exactly a joke, more like a "reality" funny! Have a good one! KC
------------------------------------
Santa Claus a woman
I think Santa Claus is a woman. I hate to be the one to defy
sacred myth, but I believe he is a she. Think about it...
Christmas is a big, organized, warm, fuzzy, nurturing social
deal, and I have a tough time believing a guy could possibly
pull it all off.
For starters, the vast majority of men don't even think about
selecting gifts until Christmas Eve. Once at the mall, they
always seem surprised to find only Ronco products, socket wrench
sets and mood rings left on the shelves. On this count alone,
I'm convinced Santa is a woman.
Surely if he were a man, everyone in the universe would wake up
Christmas morning to find a rotating musical Chia Pet under the
tree, still in the bag.
Another problem for a he-Santa would be getting there. First of
all, there would be no reindeer because they would all be dead,
gutted and strapped on to the rear bumper of the sleigh amid
wide-eyed desperate claims that buck season had been extended.
Blitzen's rack would already be on the way to the taxidermist.
Even if the male Santa DID have reindeer, he'd still have
transportation problems because he would inevitably get lost up
there in the snow and clouds and then refuse to stop and ask
for directions.
Other reasons Santa can't possibly be a woman:
Men can't pack a bag.
Men would rather be dead than caught wearing red velvet.
Men would feel their masculinity is threatened... having been
seen with all those elves.
Men don't answer their mail.
Men would refuse to allow their physique to be described, even
in jest, as anything remotely resembling a "bowlful of jelly".
Men aren't interested in stockings unless somebody's wearing
them.
Having to do the Ho Ho Ho thing would seriously inhibit their
ability to pick up women.
Finally, being responsible for Christmas would require a
commitment.
Now, I can buy the fact that other mythical holiday characters
are men, like:
Father Time shows up once a year unshaven and looking ominous.
Definite guy.
Cupid flies around carrying weapons, Uncle Sam is a politician
who likes to point fingers.
Any one of these individuals could pass the testosterone
screening test. But not St. Nick. Not a chance.

Local Family make the news-

Parents Go On Strike, Move Out To Protest Messy Kids
Couple Striking Until Children Clean, Show Respect

POSTED: 12:14 am EST December 8, 2004
UPDATED: 10:28 am EST December 8, 2004

Two parents in Deltona, Fla., have moved out of their home and are living in a small tent in their driveway hoping to embarrass their children into cleaning up after themselves, according to Local 6 News.
Cat and Harlen Bernard said they were tired of their two children not helping out with chores around the house so they decided to go on strike.

The couple has been living in a small tent pitched in their driveway for about two days.

They want the strike to motivate their two children.

"They are 17 and 12 (years old), able bodied and nothing is more frustrating to me than when they expect everything to be done for them," Harlen Bernard said.
the Bernards said they'll continue their strike until their children help out and learn to appreciate their parents.
"We don't know if it's going to work, it's not like kids come with a rule book or instruction manual," Cat Bernard said.
After his first night in the yard, Harlan Barnard, 56, said he woke up feeling stiff, but liberated
"It was like I'd done something to take back my little corner of the world," he said.
Their children were confused on the first day when they came home from school. But their son, Ben Barnard, a senior at Deltona High School, said the parental strike is already having consequences.
"It's extremely inconvenient," Ben said. "Every time the phone rings, we have to run outside to give it to them."
A neighbor called a local radio call-in show on Tuesday, bringing attention to their strike. A teacher of their daughter, Kit, made a visit and the Volusia County Sheriff's office stopped by three times Tuesday night to check on the children.

Whether the couple's actions could be regarded as abandonment depends on how much guidance the parents are still providing and "if the children are suffering as a result," said Carrie Hoeppner, a spokeswoman with the Department of Children & Families in Orange County.

Ruth Peters, a Clearwater clinical psychologist and author who specializes in treating children and adolescents, said the tent tactic could easily backfire on the parents.

She doesn't expect the children to clean up the house or do any chores without their parents living under the same roof. And it could give the kids star status with their peers because they drove their parents out.

"All this does is inconvenience the parent. It doesn't inconvenience the kids at all," Peters said. "I can't imagine the kids begging their parents to come back."

Both children acknowledge they could do more to help out around the house. But they expect their parents to give up the stunt in a few more days.

But Cat Barnard says the strike may already be paying dividends. She noted that her daughter washed her own clothes for the first time on Tuesday.

With Florida's mild winter, a freezer full of frozen dinners and the children down to plasticware, the couples said they are ready to ride out the standoff.

"This is war," Cat Barnard said. "I love my babies, but I don't like what they're doing."
____________________________________________________________.........
This is me- What do you all think? I can tell you that it has crossed my mind on more than one occasion that I would just LOVE to go on strike. If I hear " but I didn't make the mess" one more time, I'll just scream! ( oh wait, I have !!!!) I clean clothes, wash dishes, pick up stuff ad-nauseum that is not "mine". I realize that that is part of my job as a mother, but at 14 and 10, my elder kids should put in their fair share. They have chores- but have to be constantly "hounded" to do them. I had many more chores than each of them have ( I was an only child, I got ALL the chores- they get them "split" between them)and if I hadn't done them when expected, I got hell! I swear, I have left something on the floor- and it has stayed there for a week, before someone picked it up ( and it was usually me!) Anyone else have this problem- and if so, any ideas? Grounding, taking away priviages doesn't seem to work with mine, but whatever. Just something I was thinking about this morning.
Have a good day! Peace, KC

God, is it Birthday heaven or what???

Happy Birthday to one of the best guitarists we know!

I've got about half of my X-mas cards done, I will probably do the rest today. My hands are just not co-operating with the "neatness" factor. I also took out all the presents I've bought so far, and "measured" the piles. You all with kids know, you can't have one bigger ( significantly, anyway) than another. Otherwise you have the " I must have been a better kid than you were" arguments. I think, except for the ones still en-route ( both from Overstock.com and Steph's tupperware party ) that I've just got 2-3 more to buy. Then I can wrap and relax. The major problem is I'm tapped out until Jon gets both his pay and his bonus check. That would not normally be a major biggie, but he gets them 2 days AFTER my next Chemo. Since last time I was a "Zombie" for 4 days afer the last treatment, It looks like I will still have to do the "last minute liz" shopping I've always been famous for. Hopefully I'll get some good bargins though! Then again, maybe I'll get lucky and breeze right through my treatment ( Yea, KC, and maybe you'll win the Lotto! PFFT!) I also have to get the stocking-stuffers, once I get MY bonus.
Hope you all have a great day! I'll "see" you all later! Peace, KC

Monday, Monday...

Well, I had a lovely birthday! And thanks to all you girls that posted the Joe pics! Jon thought I was having heart failure as I was cruising around Sat. evening. anyone know what to use to clean drool off of keyboards???? hehehe!
Had a fruitful time and the arts & crafts festival, and while I didn't find anything I liked for myself, we managed to get gifts for the rest of his family! Not easy, there are so many of them. But they are unique, and didn't break the bank!
Today I'm off once again with Mom, to finish with the rest of the kids, and hopefully the Hubby. then I can settle down to wrapping and writing the cards.I'm trying to get all of this done before my next treatment. Since the last one knocked me on my a** for 4 days, I can only assume the next one will as well. I want to make sure I don't leave everything to the last minute. That will be a first for me, I'm one of those people that is usually up until 2am on Christmas morning wrapping gifts.
I got the date of my surgery set, it will be Jan 14. I should only be in the hospital for 2-3 days, and then on to "round 2". I'll just be glad to get back to work, and back to normal!

I'll leave you all with this picture I found this morning. It gave me a giggle!

Have a good one! Peace, KC

Weekend musings

Not the greatest of pics, and our car/truck block some, but this is the best I could do. It actually got cold ( well, for us anyway!) last night. In the 40's, which with just a hoody, did not make for steady hands on my part. But darn it! They're up! We plan on decoration the tree tommorrow, before the football games.
My BIL and his wife will be here around 11am, to pick up the kids. then Jon and I are off for an afternoon of peace and arts & crafts. I like shopping at festivals, you can really find unique gifts- unlike the same old mall offerings. And I plan on getting something "bling" for myself. Mom gave me a check for my birthday, which I normally use towards X-mas gifts. That is a problem for anyone that has a birthday this time of year. I love to give, and usually can't justify spending money on me, when christmas is sooo close anyway. But with everything that I have been through the last couple of months, I'm feeling just a little selfish. So, "IF" I find something good, I'll buy it. I have enough of my X-mas shopping done to know that no one is gonna "suffer" this year if I don't use the money as usual.( do I still sound guilty- am I looking for encouragement? Do I need you all to say "go for it"? HELL YEAH! ) It will probably be my luck that nothing catches my eye though *sigh*

So I will cruise the 'net a bit, while my kids clean up, then it's off we go!
Have a great day all of you- Peace, KC

It's Friday!!!! I know this is long, but it's funny!!!!!!!

Subject: I wish I didn't say that!

FIRST TESTIMONY:
> > I walked into a hair salon with my husband and three kids in tow and asked
loudly, "How much do you charge for a shampoo and a blow job?" I turned
around and walked back out and never went back. My
husband didn't say a word...he knew better.
SECOND TESTIMONY:
>> I was at the golf store comparing different kinds of golf balls. I was
unhappy with the women's type I had been using. After browsing for several
minutes, I was approached by one of the good-looking gentlemen who
works at the store. He asked if he could help me. Without thinking, I
looked at him and said, "I think I like playing with men's balls."
THIRD TESTIMONY:
> > My sister and I were at the mall and passed by a store that sold a variety
of candy and nuts. As we were looking at the display case, the boy behind
the counter asked if we needed any help I replied, "No, I'm just looking at
your nuts." My sister started to laugh hysterically, The
boy grinned, and I turned beet-red and walked away. To this day, my sister
has never let me forget
FOURTH TESTIMONY:
> > While in line at the bank one afternoon, my toddler decided to release
some pent-up energy and ran amok. I was finally able to grab hold of her
after receiving looks of disgust and annoyance from other patrons. I told
her that if she did not start behaving "right now" she would be
punished. To my horror, she looked me in the eye and said in a voice just as
threatening, "If you don't let me go right now, I will tell Grandma that I
saw you kissing Daddy's pee-pee last night!" The silence was deafening after
this enlightening exchange. Even the tellers stopped what they were doing.I
mustered up the last of my dignity and walked out of the bank with my
daughter in tow. The last thing I heard whenthe door closed behind me,were
screams of laughter
FIFTH TESTIMONY:
> > Have you ever asked your child a question too many times? My
three-year-old son had a lot of problems with potty training and I was on
him constantly. One day we stopped at Taco Bell for a quick lunch in between
errands. It was very busy, with a full dining room. While enjoying my taco,
I smelled something funny, so of course I checked my seven-month-old
daughter, and she was clean. Then I realized that Danny had not asked to go
potty in a while, so I asked him if he needed to go, and he said "No". I
kept thinking, "Oh Lord, that child has had an accident, and I don't have
any clothes with me." Then I said, "Danny, are you SURE you didn't have an
accident?" "No," he replied. I just KNEW that he must have had an accident
because the smell was getting worse. Soooooo, I asked one more time,"Danny,
did you have an accident?" This time he jumped up, yanked down his pants,
bent over and spread his cheeks and yelled, "SEE MOM, IT'S JUST FARTS!!"
While 30 people nearly choked to death on their tacos laughing, he calmly
pulled up his pants and sat down. An old couple made me feel better by
thanking me for the best laugh they'd ever had!
LAST TESTIMONY:
> > This had most of the state of Michigan laughing for 2 days and a very
embarrassed female news anchor who will, in the future, likely think before
she speaks. What happens when you predict snow but don't get any....a true
story... We had a female news anchor who, the day after it was supposed to
have snowed and didn't, turned to the weatherman and asked: So Bob, where's
that 8 inches you promised me last night?" Not only did HE have to leave
the set, but half the crew did too they were laughing! so hard!

Have a great friday, will probably post later- Hubby and I are FINALLY putting up the X-mas lights this afternoon. I'll try to get some pics! Peace, KC

Stolen from Lady Strange's Blog........

Eve
~Eve~
The first seductress.

Which Famous Seductress are You?
brought to you by Quizilla

HUMMMM? Interesting to say the least!

I spent all morning on the phone with various Dr.s offices, trying to get my surgery set up, and my disability to be extended so I don't have to worry about it later, only to find out that I can't do anything for at least another week! POO! I hate leaving all that for later, when I might not be up to it.

I'm just puttering around the house today, then tommorrow out with Mom again. She wants to take me to lunch for my birthday, since she will be working on the actual day. I'm also trying to convince Jon to take me to this really cool arts & crafts festival Saturday, so we can get some really neat gifts for his family. Now that I'm back to "normal", I hope we can have a nice little lunch, and cruise the booths. The kids will be with my BIL, his company is having a big family X-mas party. They don't have kids of their own, so they want to "borrow" ours! HUUMMMM, no kids for 6 hours on my birthday-- and he thought he'd have to ASK???? Seriously, I tried to play it cool, but all I kept thinking is YIPPEEEEE!!!! ( don't get away from the kids enough I guess!)
Question to those Barbie fanatics in the group. Kimmie ( 4yr old) is getting a couple for X-mas, but should I spend the money on a really fancy one ( that she can't play with?) now, or wait to see if the whole barbie thing catches on with her? None of the rest of us girls in this house are doll-types, so I'd just thought I'd ask. She's such a girlie-girl, I really don't know where she got it as none of the other women in the family are. Well, back to the vacuum cleaner, it'slooking rther lonely *sigh*
Peace, KC :-)
