Ok, I've calmed down some....NOT!!!
Well, My day off, and I have some errands to run. I have to go up to Cocoa Beach ( theme from "I dream of Jeanie" playing in the background) to get Kimmie's birth certificate. I'll need it to register her for Kindergarden this year. It's the only office in all of Brevard county that does that. And since I also have to see Dr. B, and "get pumped up", I figure on "killing 2 birds with 1 stone". I can't understand why there is only the one office in the whole of this county though. Having to drive 50 miles just to get there seems a bit harsh.
The more I think about those DL tickets, the more it seems like I'll be sitting on the far end of the section. But the venue is not too big, so the view should still be good. And I went on their website, and they don't SEEM to have a rule against regular cameras. But I'm not too worried, 'cause after all, I have a camera-phone. Though it would be much better to take my digital camera, with the 4x zoom on it. It would be nice to get a picture, and finally put to rest the age-old question: What color are Joe's eyes really? hehehehehe! Now the waiting begins.....
I've also decided to do some much needed clothes shopping. I haven't been in the mood recently, since everything I try on "hangs" funny on me right now. But it's gotten to the point that I am down to just 4 decent work outfits. And that is getting really old! So I'm going to have to buck up, and just use a little imagination. Because I'm sick and tired of the same-old, same-old. There's a really nice mall near my Dr's office, so Mom and I are going there. As much as I hate shopping with her ( she's really picky!) She's the only one that knows what looks good on me. I've never been a "clothes horse", and my taste usually runs to T-shirts and Jeans. So for the other stuff, I'll need her help. Sorry thought coming from a 46 yr old woman, Huh?!
Well, I'd better get started. You all have a great day, and I leave you with the traditional Friday Funny!!

There Is A God/Godess!
Section 100, Row D, #'s 71- 73. Which , by my calculations, either puts me right in front of Sav, or Phil ( depending on which side of the "section" the #'s start ) And in the 4th row!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOO FRICKIN' HOOOOOO!
I rest my case! The God's can't hate me that badly! The lady on the phone was so nice. When I told her I had an 11 year old, that had to jump up and down in his seat last time just to see, she said " Let's see if I can make it easier for him... Yea, how about this.... "
Peace to you all, and Lep dreams to those who wish them! KC
Do you wanna get ROOOCCCKKKEEED?????????????????

Ok, Plan B.......
So, last night, I cried me that river, built the bridge, yada yada yada. Now that I've slept on it, I've got 2 options. As there is no one I know that will be home to order the tickets for me,( believe me, I thought about that one!) I will try to order them by phone. When I went on the music today site this morning, there was an 800 number listed. So I'll try that route. If not- I'll take as early a lunch break as I can manage, and try that way. Push comes to shove, I'll just wait- and try "Ticketbastard" on Sat. Morning. I seem to recall that some people actually got better tickets through them last tour, than they did off the pre-sale site. But it comes as something of a shock to me that I actually contemplated letting Becky stay home from school today, just so she could order the darn things for me. Not for long, mind-but it did cross my mind. I must be truly desperate! I've got the # in my cell, and I'll take the seating chart with me. I just hope one of our "customers from hell" are not there at noon! A few crossed fingers today folks, if you will........ ;-)
Work was ok yesterday, but that's because we had 4 techs on for a change. I swear, it's either "feast or famine" around the store lately. And they are so short on pharmacists ( & techs) right now, that they are actually having to close some pharmacys down early, due to lack of staffing?!! I've worked for Walgreens for 23 years, and I have never seen the problems like we are having right now. I know of some that are having to work 14 hour days, just to keep the places going. If they don't do something soon, there are bound to be mistakes made. And that, my friends, just scares the shit out of all of us. Because mistakes where I work, could cost someone their life. No, not a good thing AT ALL! If you know anyone interested in going into Pharmacy school- tell them yes! This is a job that is only going to need more people, and the money ( for pharmacists, anyway) is really good. They're snatching them up before they even get out of school, and offering them all kinds of good signing bonuses. Hell-if I were a little younger, I'd even try it. And they are trying to get more money for us techs too- since most of the pharmacists I know understand that they couldn't do their job well, with out us doing ours. It's nice to know your needed.
Well, I'm going to go surf a little before work. I'll let you all know how the ticket thing works out. Peace and Love to you all! KC

I'm Pissed!
Actually, I'm bummed, Pissed off, upset, and ultimately depressed. Because the pre-sale on the Kissimmee tickets is at 12 noon tomorrow. And I have to be at work by 10am! Which basically means that I'm going to have to take what I can get, when I get home. No good seats. No front row Jack! I have no access to internet at work. And the chances of me getting home in that time frame are about the same as me hitting the lottery.
I will try to sleep tonight.... But I think I'm just gonna have a good cry. Love to you all, KC ;(

Picture this- if you will.....
I was driving home after a very stressful day. No help, and everyone either had 10 Rx's that were needed asap, or insurance problems that wouldn't be solved. So I'm in my car, radio blaring. DJ is talking about the DL concert ticket give away ( no- I haven't won any yet!) On the way to my house, I have to sit in traffic at a "double left turn lane". I'm in the right lane of this, just listening, and my mind is wandering. Suddenly I notice that the car on my left-which should be moving forward( as there is no cars in front of them ) has stopped beside me. I look, and sure enough, they are motioning for me to roll down my window. Conversation as follows:
Them- You the Def Leppard Fan? ( pointing to my license plate)
Me- Yes, DEFinately!
Them- Cool, they SOOO ROCK! ( smiles, thumbs-up, etc)
Me- You know about Kissimmee, right?
Them- Yea! We are sooooo there!
Me- Me too- gonna meet with some friends and drive over
Them- Oh, give her you card dear, with the e-mail addy on it! Here- Call or write us! We'll meet up and make the trip together! It's so hard to find Lep fans around here!!
----Traffic then starts moving, and conversation ends.------
So now, Do I? Bear in mind, this was the "family" mini-van. with a normal-looking middle-class couple in it, with kids in the back. By his business card, he's a financial advisor/mortgage broker. So it's not like he's a member of the "Hell's angels" or anything. But I don't know them from Adam. Hubby was like- NO- they're strangers! But weren't we all once? And, after all, they do have one very good *redeeming* quality- they're Lep fans. But I will have to think about this. After all, I am meeting Scar and Shalalala girl, and I don't know them well, except what I've read on the boards. But in this day and age, maybe I should just meet them in Kissimmee? What do you all think?
But, it did make a nice end to the day!
I have an even worse one coming today. We have a pharmacist that is very nice, but she just can't handle the "rushes" that we have. I just know that when I get there, the counter will be covered in scripts, phones blaring, and customers pacing the waiting area. She'll be stressing, which- in turn- stresses the rest of us ( both of us, as there are only 2 of us that are working during the daytime!) And "major Tom" may not be in tonight. His daughter is very ill, and last we heard was being admitted to the hospital yesterday for mono and strep throat, among other things. Not that I blame him- his place is with his family. But he's the only one that can come in and "clean up the mess" after she's been there. I guess I'll just have to put on my "happy-face" and try to defuse the situation when I get there. I just hope I don't get stuck working extra hours again tonight ( as I did last night!) since I'm scheduled to open tommorrow at 7 am. BLEH! I really can't wait for school to be out, then the 2 girls that can only work 10 to 15 hours a week will be able to go to full time. Sabrina and I are about shot, handling everything by ourselves!
Well, off to surf alittle, and perhaps listen to NMW- that should cheer me up! ( thanks again Kim sweetie!!!)
Peace and Love- KC

P.S.- why am I so concerned about programming my VCR- when I have the damn DVR now??? Oh boy y'all, I think my hair is going to come back "blonde"!!!!! lol! Off to work ;-) KC

Sunday, April 24, 2005

Hi all!
Well, Hubby and I went to the art's festival yesterday, and of course, came home empty-handed.( well, I got a baseball style hat, but that's because I went without one, And since the sun was shining, I was afraid my scalp would burn!) Why is it that everything that caught my eye cost a small fortune? "Champagne" taste on a "Beer" budget! Oh well, it was a nice day out for a stroll anyway.
Thanks to Kate, I have a new graphic for my sidebar! And of course, we all know it's the truth.:-p ! I'm still working on the "countdown clock", but I will probably have to save it for my next day off. Because it's Sunday, and laundry calls! Bleh- I just did it, didn't I ?
A question to you all. I see on the forums and such, that there is no pre-sale for the concerts down here. Now, I have never bought tickets through Ticketmaster on-line before. I've always either bought them through band site pre-sales, or at the venues themselves. Is it hard to do? Would I be better off getting them on the phone? There's supposed to be a FYI store in the local mall with a Ticketmaster outlet. Should I go there instead? I just don't want to get stuck with crappy seats! Any advice on the matter would be appreciated! I know Chris Rhodes said they were going to be giving away tickets, but my luck being what it is lately, I just don't want to chance it!
Well, that's all for today. As I said, work needs to be done around here. And since no one else seems to be around, I guess I'm the one to do it. Have a wonderful day, and I'll catch you all later! Peace, KC

**** Edit here** I just went to WHTQ's website ( see link below) and they have a section called "Classics du jour", Well, they are advertising a contest to win a trip to see the Leps in NYC! Oh boy- I am all over that like a cheap suit! Cross you fingers for me- I've not won a contest like this since High School!( tickets to see Frampton live-btw!) I am WAAAAYYYY overdue for some good luck! Oh well, back to housework..............

Friday, April 22, 2005

Well, not much to talk about today. I have the day off, so I'm gonna surf, clean and rest! I managed to get more "stuff" on my sidebar. Just a list of events coming up in my life. I tried to get a "countdown" put on there for the Lep concert, but I couldn't make it work. If any of you know of a site I can get one at- let me know. The "treatment" one is an educated guess, from what Dr. S. told me of my radiation treatments. When I see him and get it tied down, I'll update it for certain. What I do know, is the concert is going to be my little "celebration" of the end of my own personal "Year from Hell" that you all have seen me through. I've already been in contact with a few fans on the OF ( Scar and Shalalala girl, who live just north of me!) Devon, and I'm still hoping for Tig! I hope we will all "convoy" on over to Kissimmee, and make an event of the day. But it's too soon for those kind of "concrete" plans as of yet. I've put in for the day of/day after off. So it's all in wait-and-see mode at this point. I know I had wanted to go "Lep-treking" and try and meet some of you. And I will sometime. But the family needs this vacation we have planned more. And since I'm" wife and mother"- their needs come first. Darn it all! So the funds for yet ANOTHER trip this summer, and the time-off involved, are just not there. But I will make the effort. It just may have to wait for the next tour.
Well- enough of my B.S., it's time for that thing that you love about my Friday's- The Funny!

****P.S.- I just went to http://whtq.com, And Guess who their "don't miss" concert is this week???? And their" featured album?" You guessed it! I'm so proud of them! And Chris has been pushing the concert BIG TIME on air. He said they'd be having a contest for free tickets. I'll buy mine, but if it includes meeting the band- I think I'll be "back in his face" really bad! hehehehe!
***** P.S.S.- I was just surfing again, and it seems our guys will be on the Showtime Next channel, May 1st. It is a "Planet Rock profiles- Def Leppard"! Oh boy, now I'm really gonna have to remember how to program my stupid VCR! Where did I put that instruction book.....???? I think that maybe, finally, Island records has got a guy running it who puts his money where his mouth is! About damn time too! ;-)

CRUNCH!
Darn it all, I had my first auto accident this morning! Before any get excited- everyone is ok. It actually was a little bump. I was dropping off Kimmie at the daycare, had just taken my foot off the brake to float back out of the space- and wham! Where the hell had she come from? I looked before I put the car in reverse- I really did! But her van door is now crunched in enough that it will not open. My car ( Bless Cheverolet!!) hasn't got a scratch. But I spent this morning on the phone to Geico, and now my insurance is probably going to cost more. DAMN! I know, I should be thankful it was not worse, and that all were ok, if a little shaken up, but jeez! Sorry, I'm just pissed off about it.............
I'm feeling much better today, even if I still feel like someone stuffed my head with my pillow. So I will be back to work here in about an hour. Then off tomorrow, and the big Melbourne Arts festival this weekend. And I have money to spend! Look out- I may actually have some fun! And guess what? My hair is trying to make a "come-back!" It seems to be growing. WOO HOO! My daughter mentioned it to me this morning, and I really hadn't noticed. But yea, it's thicker than "fuzz" now. So maybe I'll look normal by, say- Christmas??? Hanging on to some hope here! One of these days , I might just take a picture - just so I can remember what this was like ( as IF I"D FORGET!!) if I do, I post it. Y'all need something to put up on the dart-board-right?!
Anywho, off to get some gold..er...gas in the car. And I think, concidering my morning, I'll get some Chick-fil-a for lunch. I just can't deal with another homemade sandwich today. Nope! I need something to lift the spirits. So, where did I put my Slang CD..............????????????????
Peace and Love, KC

An open post to Robin-
Hi! I didn't think you were attacking me. I thought that perhaps my "question" had started something bad. I just wanted to let you know that it was not my intention to start a "firestorm" of gossip or slander. I hate rumors, gossip, or anything like it. It has hurt me badly in the past, and I don't condone or propigate it. Hell, I didn't even have the chance to read your e-mail ( or Jude's comment about the same) until AFTER your "deleted" post. If I'd figured that out before I commented, I probably wouldn't have done so. And if I hear anything of that type, I hold my tongue until it has been proven to be true, by very reliable sources. And I don't call anyone names, I've been on the receiving end , and I don't appreciate it. As Ricky's song goes " there are 3 sides to every story...."

I hate gossip. I've hated it since High School. I lived on Long Island at the time, and while I was not the most "innocent" girl on the block, I was in no way a "bad" girl. Just your average teen trying to figure her life out. I got a job working in an old time "ice cream parlor/luncheonette" in a little harbor town. Great tips, lot's of ambience. Just a really cool place to work. But I noticed early into my first week, that my fellow co-workers were anything but friendly. Now, you all know me well enought to know that I'm a pretty friendly sort. I don't normally have problems getting along with people. But these people were just cold to me. I couldn't understand, and it began to "get" to me. Finally one day, one of them asked what the problem was. I told him, and he asked me where I lived. I said my town's name- and he said ( out LOUD- so the rest of my co-workers could hear) SHE'S NOT HER!!!! WTF? Turns out, there was a girl, with my SAME name, that lived nearby. She apparently was a real psycho bitch, had been responsible for 3 of the guys in the area to be arrested ( on false charges!) She'd had multiple abortions, a habit of just losing it and beating the crap out of people for no reason, and numerous other things that I just don't have time to explain. And they had thought that I was her! Once all of that had been discovered, we got along fine. But that sort of experience teaches one about the damage that gossip and rumor can do. I don't trust it, and I don't spread it. And I hope that it never comes back at me again. And so far- it's worked.
Sorry, off my soapbox now lol!
I still have that darn cold, although the medication is starting to help. And I decided to stay home today. So I could rest and re-group. They have enough help today to do without me, and "major Tom" suggested I just stay home. So here I am, in my PJ's, Leopard print slippers, and my Earl Grey chatting with you all! Well, talking with you IS relaxing. And I paid all my bills this week, so that I will have plenty of money come April 30th, to pay for a few tickets ( 3 so far, but hell, I ain't done twisting arms yet!) I think I'll go play around the "www" for a while. You all have a great day, and if I find anything worth sharing- I'll be back. Love and Peace, as always! KC

** News Flash! I was just listening to my favorite DJ, Chris. And he announced that they had "official confirmation" of the Def Leppard concert in Kissimmee. But then he said "thanks to the heads-up from KC in Palm Bay!" WOO HOO- Score another for the crazy lady!*** :-)

AAAACCCHHHOOOOOO! Oh, Shid- I godt my huddy cold!
Yea, all that sleeping on the recliner, and no close contact for over a week didn't help! Saturday, I woke with just an itchy nose, and since I thought it was the usually allergy thing, just took a Claritin. By yesterday, it was a full blown cold. Crap! And while I'm no longer on Chemo, my body has not had time to "snap back" from it's affects. So it means that it will take me a while to shake this thing off. If we weren't so short-handed at work, I'd call out. But I will buck up and go in. And probably have to dowse myself in alcohol all day to keep the germs from transfering themselves to my co-workers.
Andy's party went well. He and his friends had a good time. We ended up having Game Cube -Mario racing as a competition, and all had a good time. And despite their age, my house wasn't trashed in the process! So yesterday was just "laundry day" instead of the usually "clean-til-you-drop marathon! "( good thing too- with how I feel, Huh!?)
Then it was off to drop Becky off to meet "major Tom" and his group to go to her very first rock concert! She had a wonderful time, except for the "creeps smoking pot in front of them". She said that they had mentioned this to security, but they didn't do anything. I tried to explain to her that this was, unfortunately, NORMAL at rock concerts. That, and the guy that barfed his way down the steps between the opening act and Green Day. But she said she wouldn't have missed it for the world. So I guess at least I know she has no love-loss for drugs. She said the stuff just stank, and proceeded to wash all her clothes first thing the next morning- to get the smell out. Good, I must be doing something right!
Well, I work the evening shift today ( 2 - 10pm) So I am going to "surf", drink a bunch of fluids, and maybe take a nap before work. I wish you all a great day! Peace and Love, KC

** added edit** I was surfing the Yahell groups, and one had an anouncement that Phil Collen and someone named Michelle had a little girl in November?? Anyone know about this??

Air
Your element is Air: Carefree, lovable, fun and
childish. Arent you cute! Your just full of
childhood spunk and happiness! Hey who said
being young was a bad thing? You have a keen
understanding of whats good in life and choose
to remain happy rather than get too upset over
things. Life is fun, who wants to be troubled
by grown-up problems? Being as capable of love
as you are you will make a wonderful parent if
and when you choose to grow up. Love is a
mystery because you only want friends not love
interests, games are better than relationships
with the opposite sex. You have what everyone
is searching for, that so called 'fountain of
youth' deep inside. You can come across as
naive and childish at times. But who cares what
they think, lets go play tag!

.:-What is your true element?-:. -With Anime Pictures and detailed answers-
Well, I just thought I'd try it. In about 1 hour, I'm gonna have 8 rowdy 11 yr old boys invading. I have munchies, prizes, and everything. I just hope I survive it! I'll get back to you all later, after the party. And the doorbell just rang.... Wish me luck!
Happy day to all! Peace and Love, KC

TGIF!!!!!!
And I hope a good one for all! As you may ( or may not) have noticed, I've done a bit of work here in blogland. Finally got around to fixing my sidebar. I'd pretty much figured out how to get everything "lined up" a few weeks ago, but life got in the way of me actually sitting down to do it. And I've added a few things. Like the "band" at the top, and some additional graphics ( and finally got around to giving Kim credit for her's- MY BAD!). So I may "surf" a little more this morning, and see what other fun things I can put up here. Since I really don't have anything pressing to do at the moment. Keep your eyes peeled! ( Oh- does anyone know how to get my "profile" linked up? I can't seem to figure that one out!)
I do have to clean house for Andy's party, but I'm waiting for the kids to get home, and then they will all help me- like it or not! And the rest of the weekend is mine, so I'm just gonna relax, and have some fun. Becky goes to her concert tomorrow, to see Green Day, and My Chemical Romance. She's so excited- she's been counting the days, but now it's "hours"! Sounds familiar, Huh?!
So, having said all that, it's time.......! This one came through company e-mail, from our Pharmacy Tech trainer. Now, I suppose most of you get this kind of thing in your e-mails all the time. But this is a first for Walgreens. Normally, it's just not done. So it was a thrill, and I thought you all would get a kick out of it:

Some standard scientific units we should all be familiar with..............
1- Ratio of an igloo's circumference to it's diameter = Eskimo Pi
2- 2000 pounds of Chinese soup = Won ton
3- 1 millionth of a mouthwash = 1 microscope
4- Time between slipping on a peel and smacking the pavement = 1 bananosecond
5- Weight an evangelist carries with God = 1 billigram
6- Time it takes to sail 220 yards at 1 nautical mile per hour = Knotfurlong
7- 365.25 days of drinking low calorie beer = 1 lite year
8- 16.5 feet in the Twilight Zone = 1 Rod Serling
9- Half a large intestine = 1 semicolon
10- 1,000,000 aches = 1 megahurtz
11- Basic unit of laryngitis = 1 hoarsepower
12- Shortest distance between two jokes = a straight line
13- 453.6 graham crackers = 1 pound cake
14- 1 million microphones = 1 megaphone
15- 1 million bicycles = 1 megacycle
16- 365.25 days = 1 unicycle
17- 2000 mockingbirds = two kilomockingbirds

Just call me "mid-shift mamma!"
I've been working the 10 to 7 shift, and as such I've had no life this week. And to add insult to injury, Jon's been sick. Hacking his poor lungs up, and using up enough Kleenex to cause me to concider stock in the company! Which sucks because I'm not allowed around sick people. So I've had to sleep the last 3 nights on the recliner in the livingroom. So sleep has not been a good issue for me. At least this is my last day of work this week, so tomorrow I can "re-charge" if needed.
I went to see the Radioligy Oncologist Tuesday morning ( hereafter refered to as Dr. S) They said they wanted to start me asap, when I made the appointment. But when there, they told me that they couldn't fit me in until May 3rd???! That's ASAP? And I have 5 weeks of treatments to do, which is driving there EVERY morning for that 5 weeks, for about 10 minutes worth of radiation! BLEH! I told them that I didn't want to wait that long, and if a spot opened up sooner, to call me. But this means that my treatments won't end until mid-June, and THEN the reconstructive surgery. And I've already made the plans for the "family vacation" to start on July 1. It's just cutting it too close. I may have to wait until after I get back from vacation to have the surgery, or worse yet, cancel the vacation all together. And that, my friends, just sucks the big one!!!!!! And I still haven't heard about any tour dates down here, so I'm not the happy bunny this week. Although I got a bit of good news that I thought I'd share.....................
There is a girl I work with, Devon. She and I get along really well, though I think she's maybe 24? Anywho, she has told me that she was a big DL fan, back in the day. Claims she had their pics all over her room, had all the albums, etc. But since she's gotten older, she's strayed away from them. Well, I got her a copy of the new import greatest hits for her. ( she's single, raising her son on her own, and going to school full-time, so her funds are limited) She has since told me that she's gotten BACK into the Leps- Big time! I was discussing the afore mentioned auction with her, and she asked about the tour dates. I told her "none down here as yet, just the one in Atlanta". To which she replied- " So when are WE going to Atlanta?" WOO HOO! My mission is complete! She has assured me, that she will be coming with me- where ever the concert is. Since with the last tour, she showed absolutely NO interest, this is a big 180 for her! And if I have to travel all the way to Atlanta, it will go along way in convincing the hubby that it's ok, if I have another adult with me- safety in numbers, and all that ( since Andy was already a given)! So that's my one piece of good news, in an otherwise crappy week. So I'm off to work. Tonight I'm gonna come home, eat some soup, and relax. You all have a great day, and I'll check back with you soon. Peace, Love, and Lep Hugs All Around! KC

I took this sunrise the other day from my backyard. I thought it was pretty! and fits the blog!

Well, I managed to get some much needed work done around here this morning. Got rid of the old recliner in my bedroom, and replaced it ( finally!) with my excercise bike. The bike had been in the garage, and it's just getting too hot to ride it out there. Fixed a kitchen drawer that broke into 4 pieces, and hung some new curtains in my kitchen bay windows! I feel really good that I've finally done something constructive- it's been a while!

I know curiousity killed the cat, but I just had to see what the bidding was up to- you know, to watch DL's rehersals in LA. $15,000.00!!!!!!! Can you believe that! OMFG! Someone is either rich, has waaaayyyy too much disposable income, or is going into some serious debt for this! All I can say, is it must be nice to be able to afford that much! I just wish they had a contest for those of us that are not so "cash-challenged"! I know the money is going to charity, and I'm alright with that. But just once I'd like a" snowball's chance in hell" to win a meeting with one of the guys, let alone the whole band! And if dreams were wings, I'd be flying right now.........
well, that's it for today. I have a bunch of laundry calling me, most of which is mine. And if I don't get it done, I'll have to go to work tomorrow "in the buff", and I don't think the general public is ready for that! Talk about killing my profit-sharing ;-). I thought I'd leave you with this little piece of information, which my" roommie" Janine sent me!( Hi sweetie !) Until next time..... ( you know the rest :-) )

CONCERNED ABOUT TOO MANY CARBS IN YOUR DIET? For those who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It provides relief to know the truth after all those conflicting medical studies.
1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
3. The Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
4. The Italians drink excessive amounts of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

I just can't get enough...
Of the mini-clip on www.defleppard.com! I'll admit, I've always like Bad Company, and that song in particular, but from what I hear of our guys doing it- AMAZING!
Oh , and another note from my favorite DJ-
From: KC Fine Sent: Friday, April 08, 2005 8:30 AMTo: Rhoads, Chris (CBI-Orlando Radio)Subject: A request?
Sorry, it's me again. I was wondering if you were able to play that new song by Def Leppard yet? I just had my last Chemo treatment yesterday ( been battling cancer since last October) and it would do wonders to lift my spirits! (If you can't - any Lep will do!) Thanks again for your patience! KC in Palm Bay!

And His response!

Hey KC,

Yes I did play the new Leppard, pretty good. Joe's vocals sound a lot different to me. I'll have Hildi play it for you Tuesday between 3 and 5pm.

My Mom has just celebrated her 11th birthday cancer free! Good luck and hope you have a nice weekend!

Chris

-- Isn't he nice?! The only problem is I work then. **sigh**! Well, at least I know they have it, and are willing to play it, no? Maybe "major Tom" will let us bring in a radio, he has in the past. Or if any of you want to hear it ( and haven't) it's http://whtq.com/ . I assume he means this coming Tuesday. Hildi is the afternoon DJ, and she's a good one too! But I usually bug Chris, because I'm home in the morning while he's on.
Andy's b-day went well. He got some really good stuff. And we had Ice cream cake for dinner. Oh well, so much for the diet! I think maybe, if the weather holds, I'll try for some "gardening" time this weekend. If I'm up to it. Otherwise I'll work on that needlepoint for the nephew. I'll check in tomorrow! Peace all! KC

How many people can you fit on a queen size bed???
At least 5!!!

Last night, that line of storms that has been wreaking havoc across the country came through here, and oh boy the lightening!! I love a good "light show", but the kids all came running in, and we ended up with a "Fine" pile of bodies on the bed! Had to laugh, and turned to Jon and told him we needed a bigger bed. Oh well, guess you had to be there..............

Well, Mom's here, and we're waiting for Andy to come home from school, so we can give him his gifts. I'll try to be back later. Either that, or tomorrow. I had more to say today, but blogger was A.W.O.L. all this morning when I had the time to post. So I'll just leave you with your Friday Funny! 'Later, Gators!!!

The IRS sends an auditor (a nasty little man) to audit a synagogue.
The auditor does all types of checking. At one point, he turns to the Rabbi and says,
"I noticed that you buy a lot of candles."
"Yes," answered the Rabbi. "Well, Rabbi, what do you do with the candle drippings?" asked the auditor. "A good question," noted the Rabbi. "We actually save them up. When we have enough, we send them back to the candle maker, and every now and then, they send us a free box of candles."
"Oh," replied the auditor (somewhat disappointed that his question actually had a practical answer.)
So, he thought he'd try another question, in his obnoxious way...
"Rabbi, what about all these Matzo purchases? What do you do with the crumbs from the Matzo?"
"Ah yes," replied the Rabbi calmly, "we actually collect up the crumbs, we send them back in a box to the manufacturer and every now and then, they send a box of Matzo balls."

"Oh," replied the auditor, thinking hard how to fluster the Rabbi.
"Well, Rabbi," he went on, what do you do with all the foreskins from the circumcisions?"
"Yes, here too, we do not waste," answered the Rabbi.
"What we do is save up all the foreskins, and when we have enough, we actually send them to the Internal Revenue Service."

"Internal Revenue Service?," questioned the auditor in disbelief.

"Ah, yes," replied the Rabbi.
"Internal Revenue Service.
And every couple of years,
they send us a little prick like you."

Have a great Friday all- Peace and Love! KC

Hi all!
I'm feeling pretty good considering. I guess the Procrit is working. I just have a few little things I've noticed lately....
1- A search to my blog- teens taking off their training bras! EXCUSE ME? My, but they must have been pretty disappointed! To Whomever: This is the blog of a 40 something lady- get you sick, twisted, perverted, mentally defective self out of here!!!!!!
2- I have recently put up the "who links here" link, and when I looked, there is a 14 year old girl ( I think!) from Asia, who has my blog linked?! Well, surprised me anyway! Who ever said it's a small world wasn't kidding. I don' t know why you've linked me sweetie, but welcome! But what I have to say that would interest a 14 year old girl, who lives on the other side of the world escapes me!
3- I have recently stopped wearing my little "chemo hats". I have, well, just a little hair left. Sort of ,well, my kids call it "peach fuzz". It's just getting too hot to wear them. And I have been getting compliments on my haircut??? Excuse me, but do you really think I'd do this on purpose? And if I tell them ( after saying thank you BTW- I was brought up properly LOL) It's due to chemo, they usually tell me I should keep it this way. "much easier to take care of". Sorry, but I don't think so! I don't even like hair this short on a guy- let alone me!!!!! I know they probably mean well, but when I was a kid ( caution- very un-P.C. comment coming your way!!) this type of haircut screamed "bull-dike". I always hated that term, but there you are! Oh, and no offense to any lesbians out there. But I'm just "girlie" enough to think this is just wrong!!!!
4- the Fla. Legislature has been debating the merits of letting diners take their "left-over" wine home from the restaurant. If there's any left. Since open bottles are usually not permitted in a moving vehicle. WTF? first, they spend overtime worrying over Mrs. Shiavo, which-JMHO- they had no right to get involved in. Now they are spending my precious tax dollars debating this? PLUUUUUEESSSE!
5- Another newsmaker in my neck of the woods. There have been 15 - 20 children who have become sick, presumably from a virus, contracted from a petting zoo that travels with the local fairs. YO! That's why there are hand washing stations there you idiots! One grandparent even said they ate lunch right after visiting the animals! And you didn't have your kids wash their hands??? Jeez, I'm not Mrs. Clean, but even I make my kids wash their hands before eating! And if we go anyplace where that's a problem ( amusement park, fair, zoo, etc.) I take some wet-wipes! Not that I don't feel for these kids- it's not their fault. And the animals have all checked out ok. But, once again- PLUUUEEESSSEE!!!!
6- They are building 2 new houses on my street. I don't have a problem with that, my neighborhood is only about 1/2 built-out. But how can they do that, when there are still 3 houses on my street standing empty from the hurricanes? And I talked to one of those homeowners ( who has been living at her mother's house ) and she said the reason they're not back is she/they can't find someone to do the repairs??? But they can build new ones? I think these builders need to fix the old houses, before they start on the new ones- right? She even said if the storm had completely knocked her house over, she could have had one built and been back months ago! Sorry- something wrong there! And, BTW, there are still lots of "blue roofs" around. Which means that they have about 2 months to get them fixed before the next season kicks in. Never mind the fact that we are do to start getting our tropical thunderstorms almost everyday. Which oftimes include hail, high winds, tornados. Nope, not fair at all!
Ok, off my soapbox now!
Andy has decided to wait until next weekend ( 16th) to have his birthday party with his friends. Thank goodness! I just don't have it in me to deal with all-that-goes-with a bunch of 11 year old boys invading this weekend. So he gets his party with the family this weekend, and his friends the next. Gives Mom a chance to re-group as well! Good news! 'Cause this chick is gonna go laze-out, and watch those shows I DVR'ed earlier in the week. I just don't feel like working around the house today. Nope, don't wanna-not gonna! If I did, I'd only regret it later. Live and learn, eh? You all have a good day, and I'll try to come up with something a little less "dramatic" for tomorrow! Peace and Love! KC

A view of my recent "hangout"

My nurse, Lisa, doing her comedy routine while administering massive quantities of chemicals!

I thought you all would like to see what a I.V. lab looks like. I know they're a little fuzzy, but I took them on the sly, and so that's what you get!

I'm back, and feeling alittle woozy. But at least it's over! Dr. said he's very proud of how well I've done, and that with the radiation, I should be totally cured! Of course, my blood levels have finally hit the low ebb, so I got my Procrit shot, along with my Chemo. Now I'm in the "home stretch"! WOO HOO! I'm just gonna take it easy for the next couple of days, and then next week, I meet with the radiation dr. to get that started! I saw my primary dr. today too, and he was amazed that I looked so well, concidering. I guess that means I do, huh!?
I did some shopping after Chemo, because it's exactly 11 years ago today that my buddy, Dude, And fellow Lep Fan was born!

Happy Birthday, Andrew Donald Fine!! You rock my world! I Love you Dude!!!!

well, I'm gonna go lay down, and snooze off some of these drugs. I'll catch you all later, once they settle down and quit giving me a case of the "dizzies!" Love and Peace you all! KC

Becky and her new friend Emmy!

Hi all, I love this rather fuzzy pic! My BIL adopted a new kitty 2 weeks ago ( well, truth be told, she sort-of adopted them!). Her name is Emmy, and she is very affectionate. So much so, that when we got there, she just wouldn't leave Becky alone! She rolled and rubbed on her all evening. My SIL said we could take her home with us if we wanted ( since she has 2 cats of her own already). But Jon said no way. He is just not a cat lover, and with our house already a bit crowded, he said we just didn't have room. But she's soooo cute, Becky and I are determined to try to change his mind.
Well, went surfing a bit this morning, and it seems that DL is playing Atlanta. Now,this is good news, as if they are coming down that far- what's to keep them from coming all the way down????!! So hopefully, in the next week or so, I'll get some really good news! ( and let the aforementioned DJ off the hook lol!) But if push comes to shove, Atlanta is at least doable!
Work is really a biotch lately. We are so short staffed, that we only have 2 of us Techs on during the day. That makes 3 ( counting the Pharmacist) to do 300+ prescriptions, run registers, answer phones ( 5 of them!!!) yada, yada, yada! No wonder I come home feeling like I was beaten with a baseball bat! And while I am out tomorrow through the following Monday- they will have to do with one on day shift, and one on the night shift!! No one for lunches or breaks! I am trying not to feel guilty about this, as I really don't have a choice. There is just no way I can work those first few days after Chemo. I just don't have the energy to do anything for more that 15 minutes at a time, let alone 8 hours on my feet. And believe me, they know that too. When I said maybe I could re-arrange my Chemo schedule, they all screamed "OH NO YOU DON"T!"
But I can't help feeling just a little guilty. We really need to hire someone fast. Because we have 2 more people that are scheduled to be leaving within the next 4 months to go off to college. And that will leave just 2 techs- Me and Sabrina. Now the 2 that are leaving are part-time, but they are essential to the staff. And our store manager just doesn't seem to be all that concerned!! Sabrina and I both have vacations lined up, and it would just plain suck if we had to cancel them because there was nobody to cover them! Not to mention that we both have families, and LIVES outside work!! I think "major Tom" neededs to get in his face about this. She and I are killing ourselves covering things as it is, and sooner or later, one of us is gonna go off on him! Or worse- make a MAJOR mistake, which in our business, could be fatal!!! Perhaps an e-mail to the "higher-up's" will help? I don't know.........
Well, I'd better get off my soapbox, and get dressed for my day at the "slave-pit" lol! Have a good day! I go to the Dr's and Chemo early tomorrow, so I won't be back here until tomorrow afternoon. I check in with you all then! Peace and Love! KC

Monday, April 04, 2005

Well, here we go again. Another week. Although I officially started yesterday, working 9am to 6 pm. My legs and feet really hurt last night, after 9 hours and no decent breaks. I'll really be glad when this crap is all over.
Speaking of which, this Weds. is my LAST CHEMO!! At least, that's the plan-providing all my subsequent tests turn out ok. I'll be having some radiation treatments, but those are not supposed to be that bad, just a little skin irritation. So after all the rest, those should be a breeze. And then just reconstructive surgery, to get me back to "normal". I'm the most worried about the tests. If they show any problems, I'm back to square 1. So a few crossed fingers would not be amiss ;-)
I talked to "major Tom" yesterday, and we are gonna go without a Senior Tech for a while. He feels that the crew works so well as a unit, we really don't need one. Truthfully, I think he's right. Giving someone that position could cause strife, and while the pay would be nice, I'd rather keep the peace. So that's how it's gonna go for now.
I really appreciate all your suggestions for Andy's B-day! I called the local bowling alley, and unfortunately, they're all booked for this coming weekend. So I think we'll just do the "movie" thing. Unless something better comes up in the meantime. At least I can give him the one present he wants- which is an I.O.U. for concert tickets ;-). I just hope Chris Rhodes wasn't "yanking my chain" about the situation. But seriously, the Leps haven't missed FL since '81, so the chances of them doing so now does seem a bit pessimistic!
I also found a website that has what I've wanted for some time now. I can order ( what I call) car window graphics. For $50, I can finally have what I want for my car windows: on the front-- "It's better to burn out.....", and on the back-- "Than fade away!!!!...." Crazy? No, I've dreamed of having that on my car for YEARS now, and I'm finally gonna do it. Hubby will no doubt just shake his head, or roll his eyes. But it's my car, damn it! So I'll put on it what I want! Right friends??!!!
Well, I'm due in at 10am, and I still have to make my lunch. I'll catch you all this evening! Peace and Love, KC

Regular post below, but I just got this in the mail..............

Late breaking bulletin!!!!
From Chris Rhodes, DJ, WHTQ-FM, Orlando's Classic rock station!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey KC,

We just got it in and hopefully we'll give it a spin soon. Possible concert date in mid June.

Just wondering, have you heard/seen the new single Def Leppard has out, which is a cover of Bad Company's "No Matter What"? And if so, are you all going to play it? Just curious. Thanks KC

Kc-- Who's now doing her "Happy little silly dance!!!" I'll go to work with a smile on my face now!

Happy April First!! A.K.A. Fool's Day!
I just want to start by saying that you will not get any fool's day jokes from me. I've had too many played on me that were just mean and cruel. I will not subject you, my friends, to any of that. But if your into them, go to the "SOL" site, and see the latest "Bloomberger" news snippet from "Mark the comedian". Had me going until my caffeine kicked in, let me tell you!!!!
And so we meet the end of another week. WHOOPEEEE! I'm really tired this week for some reason. I guess it's because I've worked 6 days, even if it hasn't been a full day each time. I work 12 to 6 today. But I may have to go in early, as one of our pharmacist's just called, and we're having an audit. BLEH! But until I get that call............... A few problems I need help with.
1. The afore mentioned keychains. I've managed to get the pictures ready, but when I actually went to print them, they came out larger than they were onscreen. Which means that they are too big for the keychains to hold, without cutting out parts of the pics/graphics. So I'm still working on them. I'll let you know when they are ready for mailing. which leads me to problem 2
2. Any suggestions as to a good photo editing software? All I have at present is what comes with Microsoft XP, which is paint. And I just can't seem to do with it what I want. And I've gone to Best Buy and looked, but some of them are SOOO expensive. I'd hate to spend money on one, and than find out it sucked, or worst yet- too hard to figure out!! You all know I'm tech-challenged, so any help would be appreciated.
3. Due to the crazy work schedules around here ( I work Sunday, and Hubby will probably have to work Saturday) we had to "postpone" Andy's birthday celebration. Which means I will have to host it right after my next chemo! So any ideas about what to do with a half dozen 11 year old boys, that won't tax my strength would be appreciated! And if it doesn't cost 1/2 the national debt, so much the better!!
Well, that's about it for now. So here's your weekly giggle(s)

Many of us "old folks" - those over 50, WAY over 50, or on the
way to 50 - are quite confused about how we should present
ourselves. We're unsure about the kind of image we are
projecting and whether or not we are correct as we try to
conform to current fashions. Despite what you may have seen on
the streets, the following combinations DO NOT go together and
should be avoided.

1. A nose ring and bifocals

2. Spiked hair and bald spots

3. A pierced tongue and dentures

4. Miniskirts and support hose

5. Ankle bracelets and corn pads

6. Speedo's and cellulite

7. A belly button ring and a gall bladder surgery scar

8. Unbuttoned disco shirts and a heart monitor

9. Midriff shirts and a midriff bulge

10. Pierced nipples that hang below the waist

11. Bikinis and liver spots

12. Short shorts and Varicose veins

13. Inline skates and a walker
