It's too flippin' HOOOTTTT!!!!!!
I swear, if it doesn't start cooling down soon, I'm gonna go nuts! People down here are just getting nasty, and our electric bill ( which is normally around $140 in the summer) is up over $200!!!! I have done everything ( short of sealing everyone in the house lol!) I can think of, and still the AC is running almost all day. I have the darn thing set on 80 degrees, so it's not like I'm asking for miracles here! And we just bought the unit 3 years ago, and it's supposed to be a "bigger unit than we need" for our house? Scary! We need our traditional "afternoon thunderstorms" to come back. At least when they come- it cools everything down. I haven't seen any for well over a month. Pretty scary that I'm ASKING for that kind of weather- Huh?!
Well, the weekend is almost here, and I have to work Sunday. That's because I had to take Weds. off, to help Becky register for school. Yes folks, school down here starts NEXT WEEK!! And quite honestly, I can't wait! With kimmie starting as well, it means no more day-care bills, and the house won't be "trashed" every day. And my grocery bill will go back to normal. I swear, my kids eat 3 times as much during the summer months. I can't understand why they all are so skinny. If I ate that much, I'd be the size of a BLIMP!!!
Well, It's 9am, and I'm due into work in an hour. I'm not dressed, and Kimmie is still running around in her P.J.'s as well. So I'd better get off this thing and light *that* fire under both our butts. Or I'll be running into work late- which I just HATE to do. I like getting there a little early, and sitting in my car ( usually listening to some Lep ) Helps me to switch from "Mommy-mode" to "Working-woman-mode". if that makes any sense to you all. I'll try to get back here tonight. But if not, DEFinately tomorrow.
Have a great Friday everyone! Peace and Love, KC

Just for shits and giggles:

Wolf
Your critter companion is the Noble Wolf. You are
a very mature, down-to-earth person. You enjoy
being outdoors and are probably a good student
in school. You are a loyal friend and a great
advice giver, and you will always be around
when a friend is in need. You love reading,
both for pleasure and information, and your
idea of heaven probably consists of a cozy
armchair, a book, and a nice cup of coffee.
Sounds wonderful!

What's Your Goddess Identity?
KC, you're a Phoenix!

You go, girl! Like a Phoenix, the beautiful, soaring bird that represents vision and a thirst for life, your quest for adventure never dies. Whether parading around in a flashy, red dress at your next party, volunteering to tutor kids in reading, or signing up for a photography class, you possess a natural creativity and curiosity that guarantees a life filled with all sorts of exciting twists and turns.People around you marvel at your energy — how is it that you're able to whiz through a jam-packed day, rush to your kickboxing class, and then still feel lively enough to hang with friends and family? Just chalk it up to your undying love of life. You've never met a challenge you didn't like — even when it comes to romance. No one can resist your diva-like charms, not even that scorching crush who leaves everyone else weak in the knees. Chances are that with your confidence and radiance, you have plenty of invitations to movie dates and nights out with the girls. So go to it, Phoenix. The world needs more people like you!

Wow! Cool! I liked this one!!
Hi everyone! Sorry I've been MIA this week. Just toooooooo busy at work. Which sucks, but hey- I have a few weeks off coming up, so whatever. Oh, and have any one of you ( who work with the public) had a problem this past week? I swear, everyone has taken their "grumpy" pills!! I've gotten yelled at, insulted, cursed at, YOU NAME IT! I've never had so many nasty customers in one year- let alone one week. Tom thinks it's the heat- I think whatever it is better stop soon! I have the patience of a saint ( so I've been told) when it comes to our customers, but yesterday I had to tell Tom to get me away from them before I "Biotch slapped" someone.
I had one lady who screamed at me for 1/2 hour because we put her Rx's under the wrong person's profile ( which I fixed asap, btw!) Well dearie, if your name wasn't Mary Smith( REALLY!), and you'd've given us time (before you raced out of the drive-thru!) to get your birthdate, or something we could use to find "YOU", we could have done better. BUT NOOOOO!
So of course we had to make up a whole new profile, until we could get the info. And of course your scripts weren't billed to your insurance- 'CAUSE WE COULDN"T "FIND" YOU! Then, once I'd gotten through that with her, she called back about an hour latter asking why we didn't fill her scripts with what the Dr. prescribed??!!( Ever hear of Generics lady?) She then screamed at me about why I thought she couldn't afford the brand names?! WAS I TRYING TO POISON HER??? Hence my request to Tom to get me away from John Q Public for awhile. And she was just one of many in the past few days. Thank goodness I'm off today, cause I think I'd've called in sick, just to get away from people! Not to mention the computers crashing 4 times, the phones ringing off the hooks, the insurance company's......BLEH!
So doing laundry and cleaning the house today has never seemed so good! And I intend to rest a little. Surf the 'net, and generally stay away from humans. Seems the safest course for me right now. So I wish you all a great day, and I'll catch you all later. I'm gonna play around, and see if I can find anything interesting to do. Or maybe just watch a movie and eat popcorn. Yea, sounds like a plan...... ;-)
Peace and Love to all! KC

Ok, I'm game!
1. What is your name?
2. Are we friends?
3. When and how did we meet?
4. Do you have a crush on me?
5. Would you kiss me?
6. Give me a nickname and explain why you picked it.
7. Describe me in one word.
8. What was your first impression?
9. Do you still think that way about me now?
10. What reminds you of me?
11. If you could give me anything what would it be?
12. How well do you know me?
13. When's the last time you saw me?
14. Ever wanted to tell me something but couldn't?
15. Are you going to put this on your blog and see what I say about you?

I wasn't going to do it, but what the heck!?
Sorry I didn't get back here yesterday, but all the running around finally got to me. What little energy I had left I had to use on the kids and house. Sheesh, it truly amazes me how fast my house can go from clean to "trashed". The kids kept the house neat the whole time Mom was here, but the minute she left- no way!
One thing I did not mention about the Hollywood trip,( 'cause Hubby was sitting right here!) is that he really made me upset. I mean, I wanted to take him- A night alone with him, Good music, and let him meet some of my "DL" friends. I had hoped to ease any reservations he has about the whole "DL fan-dom" as it were. Well, he was NOT co-operative AT ALL. When we got to the venue, I told him I wanted to find DeflepKim. He was "why?" I told him she had just lost her father, and I wanted to give her my condolences. He grunted, but tagged along. But when I introduced him to Kim , Scar & Sha.. etc- He just stood back with a "puss" on his face. He didn't even TRY! Before the concert started, I spotted Kat in the stands, and stood up waving- trying to get her attention. He told me "sit down, your making a specticle of yourself". I wanted to go say hello to her, but the look he gave me stopped me. I didn't want to start a fight right there in the venue! And through the whole concert he just stood there with his arms crossed, looking around. He didn't even applaud at the end- just "ok, let's get out of here". I had hoped to meet up with everyone and go to the buses, but NO. He said he " wanted a beer, and to go to bed". And after reading Sha's post on the forum, I would have FINALLY met them, had I gone. **SIGH**
So next time I'll take Andy. Or Devon. Or Becky even. She would have at least gone along with me to the buses. My worst fears were realized- he just doesn't "get it". And all the rest of the weekend, he's been a grouch. I don't know why I even tried to take him. Live and learn. But it put a damper on the evening. It's going to be a LONG time before I go to another concert with him. Sorry to say.
I work the late shift today, so I'm off to catch up with you all. Have a great Monday, and I'll see you soon.
Love and Peace, KC

Well, I'm back!
And as expected, the guy's ROCKED! A little pre-show for you.....

Jon and I left around 2:30, and headed down. Now, I had tried to make a reservation for a hotel online earlier this week, but after the Williamsburg fiasco, I felt better to get down there and see what we could find. WRONG MOVE! We got to Hollywood around 5 pm, and spent the better part of the next hour hunting for a hotel that had rooms available. Then we virually threw the suitcase in the door, and off to the Hard Rock.
This place is more than just a hotel/casino. It's virtually a "mini-mall/complex" complete with shops, restarants and other such stuff. It was hell getting into the parking area ( traffic and such), but once in we didn't have a problem finding a space. ( which some did- as seen by the cars parked precariously on medians, grassy knolls, and anywhere they could find when we came out!) We went in a scoped out the place, found the actually concert hall, then went and had some dinner. 2 margaritas later ( lol!) we decided to head over to the hall. Security was a pain, having first said "yea, you can bring in your drinks" to "No drinks allowed!" Also, signs all over- "No Cameras, Video, Audio"- but if you had a small, easily hidden camera it could have been done ( mine, unfortunately is not small enough to hide well) Ladies purses were checked, but the guy's just walked on in ( hence Scar was able to walk in with his camera in his pocket???!!!!). Wandered for awhile, found Scar and Sha, and Deflepkim, whose father died just this past Thursday. I had wanted to find her, and extend my condolences to her ( DONE!)
Then when the doors inside opened, we were directed to our seats. I had remarked to Jon that I thought that we were farther back than we should be- and then security came up to inform us that we were in the WRONG SEATS? They put us there!!! THEY SAT US?! It ended up ok, as we wound up much closer to the stage- although not nearly as close as I was at Kissimmee. Beggars can not be chosers, I was glad to be there at all!
What can I tell you that you can't already guess. THEY WERE GREAT! It was the same basic show that they've played all along, although Joe did manage to "waffle" a bit more than normal, since they were the only one's on the bill. The lighting was not working properly- apparently ( according to Joe) "the power bill was not being paid". So with appoligies to Kenji ( the lighting guy) they just kept on, keepin' on!
I had a great time, and although I don't think I'll make a DL fan of Jon- I don't think he hated it either. But he's not a music fanatic in general, so while I rocked my socks off ( can you do that in sandals??) He stood by and just watched. The only "down-side" was the very "enthusiastic" fans right behind us. This guy yelled, sang and talked louder than anyone in the place. And I don't think it was all alchohol either. Sheesh- get a room buddy!
We went to a bar afterwards, for a night-cap, and then the hotel. Drove back home this morning only to find out that my BIL is having a bar-b-que today, which is where we're headed now. I'm glad I got my cleaning done yesterday, 'cause I'm gonna need to rest up tomorrow from all of this "coming and going" I'm doing! I'll try and get back here tomorrow, and tell you all the rest.
But I figured you all would want to know what happened!
Love and Peace! KC

In a better mood today!
Sorry about the rant yesterday. I had intended to blog about something entirely different, but as I watched GMA, I just couldn't help myself. My apoligies if it made you all depressed. That was never my intention for this thing. I just had to vent!
Onwards and upwards. Jon now knows where we are going tonight. He's not exactly happy about it. ( I think he was hoping for a different band) but he didn't say no way. So I'm gonna try and make this as easy for him as possible. Which means that I won't be able to hang around the buses, and do all that stuff that is "our" norm at a DL concert. I'll probably have to take him to the casino after the show, kind of a trade off if you will. He enjoys gambling ( though we don't do it often). I can't win to save my soul, so I just don't.
Mom will be over today to stay the night and watch the kids. So I will have to do my cleaning this morning. I'm sure you all know that having your mom over requires more effort in that department than the "normal" visitor. 'Cause it's your mom. And she knows- all your stuff. Like how you forget to dust the tops of the picture frames. Or your secret hiding spots where all the "junk" goes. Even if she's never lived in your house, she will find them. She's your mom after all. So I will have to make sure that every "dust bunny" has been banished, before I can leave and know that I won't get "that look" when I return. And I want to get ahead of the game on things, so that I can just relax on Sunday.
So I'd better get cracking. I'll be back tomorrow ( or Sunday) and let you all know how the show was. It's sold out, and there's no word on an opening act. So it should be "pure Def Leppard". I just hope Hubby can handle it- I know I will!
And now, your Friday Funny!

It was the first day of school and a new student named Pedro Martinez,
the son of a Mexican restaurateur, entered the fourth grade.
The teacher said,"Let's begin today by reviewing some American history.
"Who said 'Give me Liberty, or give me Death?'?"
She saw a sea of blank faces, except for Pedro,
who had his hand up
."Patrick Henry, 1775."

"Very good!" apprised the teacher. "Now, who said, "Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth?"
Again, no response except from Pedro:
"Abraham Lincoln, 1863."

The teacher snapped at the class,
"Class, you should be ashamed! Pedro, who is new to our country, knows more about its history than you do!"
She heard a loud whisper: "Screw the Mexicans!"
"Who said that?" she demanded.
Pedro threw up his hand.
"Jim Bowie, 1836."

At that point, a student in the back said, "I think I'm gonna puke."
The teacher glared and asked, "All right! Now, who said that?"
Again, Pedro replyed,
"George Bush I, to the Japanese Prime Minister, 1991."

Now furious, another student yelled, "Oh yeah? Suck this!"
Pedro jumped out of his chair waving his hand and shouting to the teacher,
"Bill Clinton to Monica Lewinsky, 1997!"

Now, with almost mob hysteria, someone said,
"You little shit. If you say anything else, I'll kill you!"
Pedro frantically yelled at the top of his voice,
"Gary Condit to Chandra Levy, 2001."

The teacher fainted, and as the class gathered around her lying on the floor, someone said,
"Oh shit, we're in BIG trouble now!"
Pedro whispered,
"Saddam Hussein, 2003"

Love, Peace and Leppard to all! KC- who's gonna "GET ROCKED" tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Andy guarding the fort- Jamestown,Va.
( Shades of things to come? I hope not!)

What is going on in this world? I sit here listening to Charlie Gibson, talking about more trouble in London. Why do these people think that bombing innocent people is going to "further their cause?" It's not the man on the streets making these decisions- its their governments. Bombing cities is just going to make it harder on their cause. I've read the Koran. I've studied their religion. No where does it say- "Bomb for Allah"! They have the same basic laws that most religions have. Peace, love thy neighbor, honor your god ( Allah) etc. If they think that the Muslem world gets no respect, what makes them think this is going to get them any??? I wish there were an easy answer to all this, but I have a feeling that even if there were, these guy's wouldn't listen. ****SIGH*****
We got into a discussion about "safety" at work. How one of my co-workers said she's glad that we live where we do, since it's an area where they wouldn't bomb. WHAT??? I hated to burst her "bubble", but we ALL are in danger of this. I'm sure everyone of us ( or most, at least) can name one place withing 50 or so miles, that could be a target. I have 2 in fact. Kennedy Space Center ( what a target that would make!) And Disneyworld. What better than to hit a prime example of Capitolism??!! Not to mention the amount of people that hitting that place would affect- GLOBALLY! Tourists from every corner of the world, all in a 5-square-mile area! Scary thought, huh?! Makes you want to curl up under your bed-covers and hide.

Sorry about the post all, but I'm just so tired of all the hate in the world. I believe in "love thy neighbor". In loving the earth, and ALL HER CREATURES. Of patience, understanding, and giving everyone the right to live a peaceful, happy life.
This morning, I wish more felt like I do. I wish I could stand up somewhere, and tell everyone to just take a deep breath and THINK! That we are all in this together, and there has to be a better way. But instead I see a chain of events starting. a long "chain of dominos" are starting to fall. I just hope someone figures out how to stop them, before they all fall- and with them, all of us. I look at my kids, and I can only hope the madness ends soon. For them. For all of us.
Love, and especially PEACE, KC

Snatched from Rhonda's Blog
KC, you're already using 26 of 39 critical feng shui techniques. And the area of your life benefiting most from the flow of your feng shui energy is what's known as Health

This is the area of life that relates to having optimal physical and emotional health and having a sense of balance in your overall life. There are many variables that can enhance your health feng shui. One thing you already have going for you is that you don't have any broken or cracked windows. While you have some good feng shui, your test answers reveal your energy is most blocked in the area practitioners call prosperity. Blocked energy in this area can prevent you from earning a stable income, finding income from unexpected channels, and from being happy with what you have.

Me here- at least it's a good one! Could you imagine if it were my health out of balance??! As if I don't have enough problems where that is concerned!!

August 19th
That's when I go from "lop-sided" to normal. I wish I could have gotten a date sooner, but it seems that he's all booked up until then. And I was informed it's a 3 hour surgery, so that takes a good chunk of his "surgery schedule" for the day. AND IT'S OUTPATIENT!!???? Which means I have the surgery, and then go straight home. OUCH! I just hope it doesn't hurt as much as the last one, or I will be a very pissy girl that evening! Well, I'll deal with whatever. It's better than the alternative....................
Oh- and I have 2 tickets in hand!! I met Scar, and got them!! WOO HOO! Now to break it to the hubby. HMMMM??? I think I'll just wait until Friday, and then throw him in the car with the sound of "ROAD TRIP" on my lips! Otherwise, he might come up with a reason not to go. I've done this before, and it's worked. So if that's the case....................... ;-)
My Bone scan was a breeze! That has to have been the easiest test I've ever taken! I just had to lay on this table ( fully clothed) and while we talked, she did whatever. So if one of you has to have one, you know. Very quick, and painless. Which is a change over the other's I've been dealt this past year!
Becky and I went to the mall by my dr's. office, just to kill time. And I got Kimmie 2 dresses for school. Both were Ralph Loren, and I paid $12 for them both- TOTAL! I swear, had I known they were that cheap, I'd have bought the rack!!! So there Kim! Your not the only bargain shopper in the crowd!
Well, this very choppy post has to come to a close. I have things to do tonight ( like cook!) So I leave you all with a smile. Knowing that the end is TRULY near!
( Now if my hair would just grow a little faster.........)
Peace and Love to you all! KC

P.S.- I've updated the "events in my life" section of my side bar. #2 we will have to discuss at length. Since I've never been one to let something like THAT go without some serious fun involved. He's TOAST! Plain and simple. I've got a sense of humor- and I know how to use it. After all, I'm younger than him ( and most of our friends!) So by the time this stuff gets to me, it's painfully old news! * insert evil laughing smilie here!!!!*

( You all will understand the picture, when you get to the end of the post!)
Becky and Shadow!

Sorry I was out of the loop yesterday. I just came home from work, and was so tired that all I could think about was a nap! And yes, I know that pic in the funny looked like the Olympic symbol, rather that a national symbol. But I was really so tired I didn't think about it. It was the comment underneath I was laughing at anyway!
And we never made it to B & N's to get the latest Harry Potter book. I just was too out of it to make the drive. Well, we'll pick it up later. It's not like there won't be thousands of copies around. And I have to work tomorrow ( since I had the last 2 weekends off) so today I spend cleaning house, before we go to the BIL's as usual. So boring is the order of the day here! Laundry, floors and general clean-up, in the hopes that I won't have to go back and do it all again Monday. Which I have off as well, but that's the day I go get that bone test, and see the Surgeon. I also have to register Kimmie for Kindergarten! WOO HOO! The last of the kiddies in school! I know, I'll probably be sad on the day, seeing her hand in Andy's as they go off to the bus stop. But it also means the end of day-care bills, and that for one I'll be greatful for. $100 a week is going to go a LOOONNNGGG way to lighten the load finacially around here! I mean, after all, I've been paying THAT bill for almost 15 years all in all. I think that's long enough- don't you??
Well, I'd better get busy here. And since that "Friday Funny" was such a dud, you all get another one! Don't ever accuse me of not having a sense of humor! This one I think everyone will like, since most of my readers are avid Dog or Cat lovers.....

Subject: Dogs -vs- Cats

TOP 10 DOG PEEVES ABOUT HUMANS
1. Blaming your farts on me... not funny... not funny at all!
2. Yelling at me for barking ... I'M A FRIGGIN' DOG!
3. Taking me for a walk, then not letting me check stuff out. Exactly whose walk is this anyway? 4. Any trick that involves balancing food on my nose ... stop it!
5. Any haircut that involves bows or ribbons. Now you know why we chew your stuff up when you're not home.
6. The slight of hand, fake fetch throw. You fooled a dog! Whoooo Hoooooooo -- what a proud moment for the top of the food chain.
7. Taking me to the vet for the "big snip", then acting surprised when I freak out every time we go back!
8. Getting upset when I sniff the crotches of your guests. Sorry, but I haven't quite mastered that handshake thing yet.
9. Dog sweaters. Hello? Haven't you noticed the fur?
10. How you act disgusted when I lick myself. Look, we both know the truth, you're just jealous

The "original" Smithsonian building in Washington, D.C.
( notice the shirt Andy has on in the forground- I've trained that boy well!)

Well, not much going on in my world ( except work!) I've made an appointment with my plastic surgeon for next Monday. I should know then when my surgery will be. And that should get me a couple more weeks off from work ( I don't know how long it will take to recover, but judging by my last surgery, 3 weeks seems reasonable) And I also have to go for a bone-density scan. Seems this Arimidex med I'm now on can cause bone loss over time. Wonderful! Well, at least it's better that Tamoxifen, that's been proven to increase your chance of uterine cancer!! I just hope that I can tolerate the drug, it has some side-affects that could really hit me hard! ( one is joint pain- like arthritis! OUCH) Oh well, taking one pill a day is better than what I've been though already!
Oh, and I got everything fixed at work for the concert next week. Devon came to my rescue. She let everyone know that I'd already bought the tickets, and that it wouldn't be fair for me to spend that kind of money for nothing. So now Tom is calling me the Concert Queen! Or Lep-o-holic 1 ( like that's a bad thing???) . I just hope Jon doesn't balk at the ride down. We've done so much driving lately! And I still have to get a hotel room down there. But all should be well soon.

Well, I'd better get my sorry butt dressed and ready for work. And I probably won't be back here tomorrow until late, so before I go, a message to someone special:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIM!!!! Love, luck and happiness on you special day, and all the rest to come!
Love you Sweetie!! *MWAH*

Take care, and have a great day everyone! Love and Peace, KC

Our favorite "pub" in Williamsburg.

Well, back to work today. God, I really am not looking forward to getting back in the grind. But I have to pay bills so there you go! And I have to try and get my schedule changed for next week. Otherwise I will spend $200 on tickets I can't use. I haven't contacted Scar yet to meet him and pick them up, I wanted to be sure I could go, or at least sell them to Mr. P ( store manager) before I did. Sheesh, sometimes I wonder what God I pissed off, and in what life.....
And on top of all that, I work the night shift today, and have to go back in and OPEN tomorrow at 8 am. So don't expect me to be back here again until tomorrow evening at the earliest. I hate doing that- I can't seem to come home and go right off to bed. I'll probably be up until 1am, and then have to drag my sorry butt out of bed at 6am. Not to mention that it is very hard to get Kimmie up, feed, dressed, and out the door while her two older siblings are still asleep! During the school year it's ok, they are up as well. But in the summer it just sucks! So on top of being dead tired, I'm gonna have to be Sargent Mom in the morning. LOVELY!
And Becky has been driving me crazy about going to the "Warped tour". Which, normally, I wouldn't mind ( Heck, I'd probably go with her). But the darn thing hits down here the day before school starts! I can't let her go, spend all day and half the night at this concert, and then get her up for school the next day. She'd be wiped out! I know all her favorite bands are playing, ( she said if DL were there, we'd go- WRONG!) I have to be the "Mom" here, and she's hating me right now! So much so that she's even saying she'd go with me next friday if I want. SUCK-UP big time! 'Cause I know she doesn't really like the Leps, she's just trying to push the right buttons with me. So any suggestions? Aside from duct-taping her mouth, which would probably not work anyway *SIGH*
So that's what's up in my world. Have a great Tuesday, and I'll catch you all later!
Peace and Love, KC

Could I have one of these at home please? Only I need one in a "3-pack" lol!!

We pause this blogger post to bring you a very important bulletin:

I am officially "CANCER-FREE"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NO MORE FUCKING CHEMO! NO MORE RADIATION! I AM OFFICIALLY CURED!

I can't believe that it's finally over! ( well, all but my reconstructive surgery) I will pick up my Arumidex Rx tomorrow at work, and then schedule my surgery. And hopefully get back to "normal" in life. Dr. N ( oncologist) said that he was so pleased with my results, and how well I got through all the treatments, he doesn't see any problems down the line. I just have to check in with him every 3-4 months or so, just for safety sake. WOOOO HOOOO!!! I think I'm gonna go by the store later, and get a bottle of Champagne. I think we're gonna celebrate tonight!

Oh, and I went by my store to get my schedule, and there's a BIG problem. I have been scheduled to work Friday the 22nd, 11 to 7:30pm. Which is the night I'm supposed to go to Hard Rock to see DL!!!??? So I'll have to see if I can change that, or sell my tickets to my new store manager ( who said he'd like to go if I could find him tickets!) SHIT! "Murphy"- aren't you done with me yet? WHY!!! Crap, I just hope they lengthen this tour, 'cause I want to see them again BADLY!!! At least I got to see them when I did, otherwise I'd be beyond pissed!!!!!!

Becky and I went out shopping today. She still hadn't bought anything for her birthday, so she got her favorite shoes ( Vans) and 3 rock T-Shirts from Hot Topic. And I got some new shoes as well. So she's all set for school when it starts. Now I just have to go by the post office, to pick up the mail that's there from our vacation. I'm not too concerned about it, since it's probably all trash mail anyway. I get all my bills on-line, so mostly it's just credit card offers I don't want.

So, I guess I'll go get that bubbly now. I want it to be chilled in time for Jon to get home. I don't work tomorrow until 2pm, so a couple of glasses won't do any harm. And hey, I think I've earned it! Thanks to you all for all your support, encouragement and friendship. Without it, this would have truly been a really rough ride.

Peace and Love to you all! KC

I'm BAAAACCCKKKKK!!!
And the gods only knows what happened to all my audio posts! Oh well, I guess I'll just have to fill you all in over the next few days. I swear I need a vacation from my vacation!
We had a great time though ( well, except for the ride back from D.C., but I digress......)
We got to Williamsburg on Sunday, only to find out that the hotel I had booked online was not what it was supposed to be. I had booked a Suite, and got a very small, normal room instead. Thankfully, he let me out of my "reservation" and we only stayed 1 night there. We actually managed to get a very nice room at a place called the "Woodlands", which is right on Williamsburg property. It is next to the visitor's center, and we had full access to the buses that ran around the sites for no charge! And free passes to all the events therein. Talk about lucky! I had tried to book this in advance, but could not get it for the price ( which was actually cheaper than what I HAD booked! Go figure?!) I guess because it was a "last-minute thing" we got a sweet deal. I didn't look a "gift horse" in the mouth though!
We spent the first 2 days just going around Old town- seeing all the sights and spending waaayyy too much time in the "pubs". We got to see the fireworks from the garden out back of our favorite pub, while munching on cheese and drinking good ale ( the kids had draft Root Beer- too cool!)

The family outside the Governer's Palace gardens

The garden at the pub

Becky and I at the pub
On Wedsnesday, we went to Busch Gardens. OH MY- those rollercoasters were outrageous! I drove everyone crazy riding them! I just love a good coaster!

A view from the skytram

Anywho, Thursday we went to D.C. Saw 3 of the Smithsonian buildings, the Capital and the White House. Those pics I'll post another time. The only bad part of the whole vacation was the drive back from D.C. Apparently, there was a major accident on I-95, which blocked the south-bound lanes. So we had to take U.S. 1 back( along with 1/2 of the cars in Virginia!) . Long story short, what should have taken 2 hours took 9! We got back to the hotel at 3am!!!! Needless to say, that ruined the next day for all of us, since we were too exhausted to do much of anything ( except shop, of course!) .
We drove home yesterday, and since we needed a day's rest, we did the whole drive home in one shot- 8 am to 10 pm. Which is why I'm still tired. And I still haven't checked to see how much we spent. I really don't care. It was definately worth it. But I missed you all! I'll share some more pictures as the week progresses, just so you all can see what we did. But it is nice to be home.
So I'm off to catch up will all of you. And maybe watch some of Live 8. I DVR'ed it while we were gone. Did they show our guy's?? I hope so, but even if they didn't, I'm glad they perfomed there.
I'll try and find a funny to post later ( or tomorrow) since you didn't get one last Friday.
Peace and Love, KC ( once again in FLA!!!) :-)

P.S.- ( Thanks Steph- I didn't think!) I'm not in the "zone" for Dennis. It's hitting the panhandle of Fla, whereas I live about 1/2 way down on the east coast. (see Picture below!) But thanks for caring!!!!

Just for "future" reference, though I hope you all won't need it! ( except to visit, of course!!)

Well, it's almost time to go. We're all packed, all our stuff is "charged" and all that's left is to head out.
I'll try to audioblog sometime this week, but when I can't say. This is supposed to be a get-away for the family, so my main focus will be them. I'll catch you back here no later than Sunday the 10th. In the meantime- everyone have a great holiday weekend, take care of each other, and for those of you going to see our guys- ROCK ON!

Peace, Love, and Lots of Fireworks for all of you! KC ( Temporarily NOT in FLA ;-) )

P.S.- I miss you all already!!!!! :(

Ok, now I'm FLOORED!
Al you all may know, we leave tomorrow morning on our family vacation. Well, I was talking about it at work a few weeks ago, and mentioned how I was worried about the kids being stuck in the back seat of the car together for hours on end. SO- "Major Tom" mentioned that he had a portable DVD player, and did we want to borrow it for the trip? Of course- I said yes, we'd love to.
Flash forward to about 10 minutes ago. He was supposed to drop it by my house today. But he's been putting in a lot of hours ( we are very short of pharmacists!) and could I come by the store to pick it up. No problem I said. Then he dropped the BOMB!
"Well, Karen, my wife and kids just took off for the weekend, and took ours with them. SO I WENT OUT AND JUST BOUGHT YOU ALL ONE!!!!!!" Just be sure to break it to 'fur-face' ( my silly nick-name for Jon) easy so he isn't mad"
He didn't have to do that! Becky's friend has one we could have borrowed. He didn't have to go out ( God only knows when, he worked 8 am til 10pm yesterday alone!!) and spend that kind of money just so we would have one. We certainly could have done without!
Sorry- but this man's generousity just blows my mind!
Well, I have to try and pick my jaw up off the floor, and get laundry done. I have a ton of stuff to do, and sittling here isn't doing it! Your Giggle is below. Someone pinch me- I think I'm still in shock!

Subject: Oh, my body!
If my body were a car, this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model. I've got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish and my paint job is getting a little dull, but that's not the worst of it.
My fenders are too wide to be considered stylish. They were once as sleek as a little MG; now they look more like an old Buick.
My seat cushions have split open at the seams. My seats are sagging.
Seat belts?I gave up all belts when Krispy Cremes opened a shop in my neighborhood!
Air bags? Forget it. The only bags I have these days are under my eyes. Not counting the saddlebags, of course.
I have soooooo many miles on my odometer. Sure, I've been many places and seen many things, but when's the last time an appraiser factored life experiences against depreciation?
My headlights are out of focus and it's especially hard to see things up close.
My traction is not as graceful as it once was. I slip and slide and skid and bump into things even in the best of weather.
My whitewalls are stained with varicose veins.
It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed. My fuel rate burns inefficiently.
But here's the worst of it--almost every time I sneeze, cough or sputter
.....my radiator leaks!

I;ll be back later- Have a great day all! Peace and Love, KC
