Not going to be a good day!

This is "Major Tom's" last day. And we still don't know who's slated to take his place. AND I hear that a couple of my co-workers are going to jump-ship and go with him. I don't blame them! If I weren't so close to earning my retirement with Walgreens, I'd do the same.
I'm going to hate work today. I just know it! And guess who's in charge of his party?? Yup, me. So I'm leaving really early here- to get his cake, balloons, etc.
* insert a very depressed smilie here*
I don't have a lot else to say, but I think you all understand.

Darn it!

I renewed my driver's license online, on Nov.2nd- and I haven't recieved it yet! The one in my wallet expires this Sunday!!! I just hope to hell they get a copy out to me A.S.A.P., or I'd better not get pulled over!

I wonder, if I print a copy of my e-mail reciept and carry it with me- do you all think that will cover my ass?

Another Monday...

One of the giraffes, at the Zoo. ( and you thought it would be another one of *those* pictures- didn't you!)

Well, my house still looks like a bomb hit. Actually, it was 3- but I digress. We've decided, after finding more dead critters lying about yesterday, to leave the cabinets and pantry emptied. We'll spray again this week and hopefully we won't have to do it again for awhile. But in the meantime- my pantry supplies are out in the garage on the storage shelves, and my dishes are, well, see below:

So we're living sort of out of kilter for a few days. And of course, having the house in a state of upheaval, we didn't get the Christmas decorations up as I had planned. So that will have to wait until next weekend. I can't even get to the supplies right now! they are buried behind the pantry stuff, out in the garage....*SIGH*.

I was reading the newspaper yesterday and saw an article that had me angry. ( No- not about the national news- that's Jon's "rant-turf"!) Apparently, there have been a rash of robberies lately. And the "venue" of said thefts have me upset. There is apparently a group of people, that are lying in wait at daycare centers. While the parents ( mostly mom's - obviously) are inside, dropping off/ picking up their kids, these scum are stealing purses and other valuables from in the unlocked cars. They have even broken windows to get to stuff! They haven't been caught because they pick daycares that don't have parking lot cameras. (Most don't, since they spend that kind of monies on cameras for INSIDE the daycare!) So this is a warning for those of you who ( like me ) have a child in daycare. Do not leave your purse in the car! This is not the time of year that any of us needs that kind of hassle! ( not that we need it at anytime in the year!) I just hope they catch these weasles!

Well, another week of work is ahead of us ( except for Lexy- Lucky girl!) So I'll leave you all with a thought for the day:

Yes- I'm still here!

I've just been busy! So let me catch you up:
Thanksgiving was a bust. We spent the morning as most do, watching the parade on TV. Then it was time for work for me. I tell you- why we bother being open is beyond me. At least, they should shut the stores down at 3 or 4pm, and not leave them open until 6pm. We had about 2 customers that late, and both could have gotten what they did at the local "quickie mart" of their choice! And as the "newbie" assistant was on duty- he would not let any of us go early! So I didn't even get home until 6:15- by which time we were just too tired to go anywhere. So I didn't get a family Thanksgiving as such. But at least I don't have any chance of working on Christmas!

Yesterday, Jon decided that we should "bomb" the house. We do that 3-4 times a year, since in Florida, bugs are a major problem. We had to strip down the kitchen, leave the house for 4 hours and then come back and clean up the mess. Needless to say, I was too worn out to do much of anything last night. But we had a good time while we were out. Since I refused to go shopping ( the fact that I wanted to save monies for Christmas, and the CROWDS!) we went someplace we hadn't been in a while: The Brevard County Zoo!

The new Jaguars! Aren't they sweet! They don't have names yet- perhaps Joe and Sav?

The girls feeding the ducks! Looky- I got Becky to smile! Wonders never cease!

Andy & Kim trying to feed the Giraffes!

We had a pretty good time all in all, and after dropping off Becky to see her H.S. Football team in the Semi-finals for the state championship ( Which they lost- BUMMER!) we came home, cleaned up and rested. And this moring saw our monthly BJ's run, and the usual groceries run. So much for resting on my weekend off, Huh? I should know better than that! And I still have to weed the veggie gardens, and do laundry! But the rest of today I'm going to relax. Just read, surf, and go to the BIL's house as usual. I also got 4 DVD's in the mail yesterday that I have yet to watch. "Unplugged and Unshaved", and 3 others. I'll let you know if they're any good ;-)!

So I hope you all are enjoying your weekends! I'm going to surf around now, and catch up with what's happening with you all. I'll be back tomorrow!
Peace and Love, KC

Jack or Debra
The Boss was in quandary. He had to fire somebody. He had it narrowed down
to one of two people, Debra or Jack. It was an impossible
decision, they were both super workers.

Rather than flip a coin, he decided he would fire the first one who used the
water cooler the next morning.

Debra came in the next morning with a horrible hangover after partying all
night. She went to the cooler to take an aspirin.

The Boss approached her and said: "Debra, I've never done this before, but I
have to lay you or Jack off."

"Could you jack off?" she says. "Because I feel like shit."

Darn, It's cold

For us anyway. Woke up this morning to 50 degrees outside! Concidering it was 80 just a day or two ago, that's cold for me!

Princess "Runningfox", of the Discovery Elementary tribe! Isn't she cute???

Work has been the usual debacle. Too many people wanting what they can't have. But I did get a chance to talk to the District Manager about that new "policy" that I mentioned in my last post. After some debate, he came to see my point. ( I was told later that Tom had warned him about my "little threat" to have the customers call him!) So we've sort of straightened it out to our mutual satisfaction. For my part, I will try to obtain the drugs from other stores first, but if we can't- THEN I'm allowed to order them from our other sources. Perfectly acceptable to me! Common sense wins! Yeah for the good guys!

Tom's last day is next Wednesday. BUMMER! But that's the way things go in retail. People come, go, and transfer all the time. I just wish he had waited until after the holidays to leave. But such is life- you don't always get what you want. I just hope we don't get an idiot to replace him, because we'll hear it from the customers. And because I've been there so long- I'm one of the ones they'll come crying to. I hate that, since I really don't have any control over decisions made by the head Pharmacist. I can make suggestions until I'm blue in the face, but it's their license on the line, and therefore, their decision. BLEH! Somehow, I have the feeling that December is going to be a very wrough month.

I'm working tomorrow, but I'm off the rest of the weekend. So I'll be around here to have a little fun. And as you all probably know, I sent out my addy for the annual "Christmas card" fun. If you missed it, and wish to be involved, just click on my profile on the sidebar, and send me you addy. I will be getting my cards this weekend, so hopefully I'll get some done as well. In the meantime:

May you all have a great Thanksgiving. If your driving- Drive carefully! If your drinking- DON'T DRIVE! And have a wing or a leg for me, since I doubt the good stuff will be left by the time I get off and we get to the BIL's!
Peace, Love and Turkey for all! KC

Anyone want to take a shower?

I know, I'm EVIL!

Well, I'm DEFinately working Thanksgiving. But it's ok really. As I said, at least that puts me out of the running for the Christmas shifts, and since Mom's foot is still bothering her, she wasn't planning on cooking anyway. So we'll just probably go by my "river BIL's" house after I get off work. And Jon was pissed about it, but after I mentioned ( several times mind!) that I really hadn't worked an "important" holiday ( Thanksgiving, X-Mas, New Years) in almost 4 years, he had to agree that I was "due". And the extra pay will help with my "Santa" activities in the next few weeks.

Well, let's see- what's new in my world? Oh, we went to "Wally-World" over the weekend, and I finally got my printer/scanner/copier that I wanted. It was on sale for $49! So the next day/days I have off ( without the family around that is!) I'm going to start playing around with the scanner. I'd like to take a lot of my old pictures, and load them up and put them on CD's. That way, if we ever get hit with a big storm, or something like that- I'll have them! And I'll be able to share some more "memories" with you all. So be prepared!

And Jon found out about his company's Christmas party. Apparently, his boss is hiring a bus, and taking us all over to Orlando. There is an Argentinian Steak house over there, that's supposed to be "THE PLACE". I don't know anything about them, but it should be an interesting time. Hell, his boss is always having cool Christmas parties, so I'm looking forward to it. At least this year I'll get to enjoy it, since last year I was in the midst of Chemo and couldn't eat! But the kids are pissed that they're not invited. Thankfully, my other B & SIL have a "Family Christmas party" that day, so they will be "borrowing" our's for the occasion. So no worries about them!

Work has been a madhouse as usual, with all the people trying to get their RX's early due to vacations. I can't understand how people who need medication to survive can wait until the last minute- LITERALLY! to get them refilled. And of course:
1- Have no refills!
2- Insurance will not pay for them ( and they cost major $'s)
3- can't wait the 1/2 hour it will take for us to fill the darn things!( this happened yesterday, all of the above AND they were on their way to the flippin' airport!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! )
And we just found out that they've cut payroll hours AGAIN! Another 30 hours per week ( another whole tech gone!) They claim that we ( Walgreens) lost SOO much money because of Hurricane Katrina, that we need to make up the monies. WTF? So they cut hours right in the middle of the biggest sales season of the year??? What are they thinking???!!! AND- word came down from the District Manager, that we are under NO CIRCUMSTANCES to order any extra merchandise from outside sources. Which means if we don't have a drug in stock- and we can't get it from the warehouse, the customer is S.O.L.?! No, NOT IN THIS LIFE! I told Tom I'm not buying this. I will order the darn drugs, and if the DM wants to fire me- SO BE IT! I go that one step further. If there are any complaints about this new "policy", I'm going to give the customer in question the DM's phone #! I'm not about to take the heat for this, when it is not my fault. Nope, NOT HAPPENING! Let's see how long this new "policy" stays in effect, when his phone starts ringing! Not long, I'll wager! I'll get his sorry ass for this, just you wait! With my credentials, and experience, I could get a job in a "NY second"! Hell, I'll go work for Tom when he leaves. SCREW my retirement! I'm not going to have someones health on my conscience, just because of the almighty dollar!-no F'cking way!

( sorry, off my soapbox now. I'm just so mad at the "suits" that forget what it's like to work in the stores, and deal with the public!)

Well, I'd better quit here, and go visit you all. I haven't been on this thing all weekend, and I'm sure I've missed some stuff. So I'll catch you all later.
Have a great week! Peace and Love, KC

Friday, November 18, 2005

Well, it's official

Unless Mr P. can hire someone in the next few days- I'm scheduled to work Thanksgiving: 1:30 to 6pm. I saw him interviewing a couple of ladies yesterday, so I'm still hopefull. But I'm going to have to break it to the family tonight, something I'm not looking forward to. I know Jon's going to be pissed as hell. I spent so many years as an Assistant Manager, being FORCED to work these holidays, that he feels with my seniority, I should be exempt. After all these years, he just doesn't understand the "retail mentality". And quite frankly, I've never understood the need to be open Christmas. Even the local 24 hour Wal-Marts ( greediest retailers in town!) close down for Christmas day! But I've always known that working holidays were part of the job. I just have to get my family to make peace with it. Never an easy task **SIGH**.

Yesterday was one of those days. You know, the ones that make you want to kill someone? We had 2 floater-Pharmacists, one of which ( and the one that opened with me!) had to check through every person's profile, before filling EVERY RX! Now, if there is a conflict of drugs, our computers are programmed to catch it. But she had to question every one! And called on probably 4 out of 10 that came in! Not to mention, our automated phone system is not working- which means EVERY phone call has to be answered. No touch-toning in refills, no voice-mail for the Dr's, EVERY DARN CALL had to be answered. So there was no time to do the basic things- LIKE COUNT THE PILLS!! And it was just her and I until 11:30, when the next tech came in. AND SHE just started with us 3 weeks ago- and knows NOTHING!!! I went in at 8am, didn't get my lunch break until 3pm, and was supposed to get out at 4pm ( but actually didn't get out until 5!). And I saw that today will be not much better. I'm really NOT looking forward to this!! And I am scheduled to work Sunday, so no 2 day break to recoup. BLAH BLAH BLAH- Welcome back to work Karen! Shit! Maybe I should break my foot or something ( J/K- I wouldn't do that!)

Well, since I'm gonna need this as much as you all...... ;-)! These will thrill all you Southerners, and hopefully the rest of you can relate:

................................................................

>An old hillbilly farmer had a wife who nagged him unmercifully. From
>morning till night (and sometimes later), she was always complaining about
>something. The only time he got any relief was when he was out plowing
>with his old mule. He tried to plow a lot.
>
>One day, when he was out plowing, his wife brought him lunch in the field.
>He drove the old mule into the shade, sat down on a stump, and began to eat
>his lunch. Immediately, his wife began haranguing him again. Complain,
>nag, nag; it just went on and on.
>
>All of a sudden, the old mule lashed out with both hind feet; caught her
>smack in the back of the head. Killed her dead on the spot.
>
>At the funeral several days later, the minister noticed something rather
>odd. When a woman mourner would approach the old farmer, he would listen
>for a minute, then nod his head in agreement; but when a man mourner
>approached him, he would listen for a minute, then shake his head in
>disagreement. This was so consistent, the minister decided to ask the old
>farmer about it.
>
>So after the funeral, the minister spoke to the old farmer, and asked him
>why he nodded his head and agreed with the women, but always shook his head
>and disagreed with all the men.
>
>The old farmer said: "Well, the women would come up and say something about
>how nice my wife looked, or how pretty her dress was, so I'd nod my head in
>agreement."
>
>"And what about the men?" the minister asked.
>
>"They wanted to know if the mule was for sale."

Well, this is about right?

Your Political Profile

Overall: 25% Conservative, 75% Liberal
Social Issues: 25% Conservative, 75% Liberal
Personal Responsibility: 25% Conservative, 75% Liberal
Fiscal Issues: 25% Conservative, 75% Liberal
Ethics: 0% Conservative, 100% Liberal
Defense and Crime: 50% Conservative, 50% Liberal

Well, mostly anyway.
My feet hurt, and I have to be back in bright and early tomorrow as well. I know, some of you say - "so what, I'm always in early". But I go from nights to days, and it's hard to adjust. And I really prefer the 10am to 6pm shift. It gives me more time in the morning to get ready ( without fighting the rest of the family! ) and time to visit with you all. But everyone's taking time off lately, so I'm in early to cover during the busy time.

Oh, and I *may* have to work on Thanksgiving. It seems 2 girls that work out on the floor have quit, and they were both scheduled to work on Thanksgiving day. So unless he ( Mr P- Store manager) can find someone to take their places, I will have to work 4 hours that day. Keep your fingers' crossed that I don't have to- I'll catch hell from the family if I do. The only good thing about it is that if I do have to work, there will be no chance in hell of being scheduled on Christmas! ( we are open then too! ) You are only required to work 1 of the 3 holidays coming up- and I would already have mine done. So we'll see! At least the store closes at 6pm both days, so I would still be able to make dinner, if it's not held in the afternoon! I hate all this crap this time of year.

Well, that's about it for me right now. I really need to sit back and get my feet up, or they'll still be hurting when I go in tomorrow- and that's definately NOT a good thing! Besides, I have this DVD that just came in that I want to see ;-)
Take care of you! Peace and Love, KC!

Well, Back to work today..

And 4 days in hell. Not really, but sometimes stupid people really get to me. And I'm not even counting the addicts, the "moochers"( I could do a whole rant on those!) and such. And now that the "powers that be" ( who are they- really? Anyone know?) have decided that 3/4ths of the cold/cough medications must be stored in the Pharmacy, life has been a big "bitchfest"!

You see, it seems that they use the Pseodoephedrine( sp?) to make crystal Meth. Which is not a good thing, granted. But they did have in place a block on the registers, that only allowed one package to be sold at any given time. Now it's all back in our pharmacy. Which would be ok, if we were open the same hours as the store. But we open 1 hour later in the mornings ( 8am, instead of 7am) and Saturday and Sunday we are only open 'til 6pm, whereas the store is open until 10pm. I cannot begin to tell you the complaints we get about people coming in looking for cold meds, while the pharmacy is closed. ..." how can you call yourselves a 'drug store' if we can't get the drugs we need", " you people are false advertising- you should be reported.." YADA YADA!
The thing is- these meds have been used ( AND ABUSED) for various reasons throughout time. Cough syrups for their "liquor" or just to put people to sleep. Nasal sprays, ( YES- they can be addicting. I had a guy once that came in and bought 10 packages a week of that stuff!) all of it.
And the fact is, your not going to stop these people from getting the stuff. They'll just come back again and again. Or hit multiple drugs stores. Meanwhile, we all get the crap! Oh well, such is life.

On to another topic: the "pictures" ;-)
I was thinking about this last night. I don't mind putting those "Dark Hunter" pictures up here. Heck, I'm female, and I have a pulse- so don't think I don't enjoy them as well! But I don't want to "offend" my male readers. So a poll for you all- Keep them, or stop? I'll go with the majority here on this, so any of you guys that read my blog had better speak up! Or perhaps, I could just post them on a specific day of the week ( as I do my Friday Funny). That way my male readers can just steer clear on that day. I'll go with all of you on this. I have the books, if not the pictures :-)

Well, I'd better get my sorry behind in gear. I have to be in at 11am, and I have yet to take my shower, and get dressed. I'm just hoping that my package from Amazon is here when I get home ( a certain DVD that was released today!) It was supposedly shipped last Friday, and that would DEFinately be a great way to unwind tonight! I work the early shift tomorrow, so I'll probably see you back here tomorrow evening. Oh, and maybe I too will join the "driving video" craze. If I can figure out how it's posted ( I signed up for the service, I've just never done it before).
You all have a great day- Peace and Love, KC

Day Off!!

And my house is a mess! So I guess I know what I'm doing today. The one bad thing about going back to work- the kids have the run of the house. Jon, while a good dad, is a guy- and as such doesn't think that the house is that big a mess. Whereas I walk in and go " OUCH!" So before anyone goes anywhere today ( the kids have no school, it's Veterans day today) they're cleaning up this mess. Or I'm gonna ( Becky's term) go "voodoo" on their butts!

I know I've mentioned about a couple of DVD's that I've been bidding on via E-bay. Well, something's happened that's just made my day/week/month! I did manage to win one last week, and with the seller that I've been bidding with for all the others. Well, turns out she's a big Lep fan ( DUH!). One of the shows is the "Unplugged and Unshaved". I tried to get that one off Winmx, but that P2P went off-line in October, and I haven't found one that I like since. Her offering of that show kept getting pulled from E-bay, why- I don't know. So when I won the other, I e-mailed her asking if I could possible get that from her, outside of E-Bay. She has responded, and a long story short, she has 20 DVD's of various Lep stuff that she's gonna record for me- all for $40!!! She said since I was also a big fan, she'd do this for me- as a "share the love" type thing!! I'm in heaven right now!!! I can't wait to get these DVD's! I'll let you all know when I get them, and if they're worthy of "sharing" with all of you! WOW- I was joking when I told her I would like them all, but she took me at my word. I can't tell you who she is, or anything. I promised her I'd keep that, and her list between us. But I'm just blown away once again by the kindness of Lep Fans. My poor mailman is gonna think I've flipped out, I'll be hounding him at the mailbox!

Well, It's Friday! And although I know a lot of you are off to Vegas ( I WANNA COME TOO!!!*BOOHOO*) I know some of us aren't as lucky. So have a great time all, and if they play Slang- I want a call as well! Can't let Kim have all the fun, can I?? ( J/K Kim!) and without furth ado- your giggle of the day:( thanks to Kat!)
...................................................

SIPPING VODKA

A new priest at his first mass was so nervous he could hardly speak. After mass he asked the monsignor how he had done. The monsignor replied, " When I am worried about getting nervous on the pulpit, I put a glass of vodka next to the water glass. If I start to get nervous, I take a sip." So next Sunday he took the monsignor's advice. At the beginning of the
sermon, he got nervous and took a drink. He proceeded to talk up a storm. Upon his return to his office after the mass, he found the following note on the door:

1) Sip the vodka, don't gulp.
2) There are 10 commandments, not 12.
3) There are 12 disciples, not 10.
4) Jesus was consecrated, not constipated.
5) Jacob wagered his donkey, he did not bet his ass
6) We do not refer to Jesus Christ as the late J.C.
7) The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are not referred to as Daddy, Junior and
the spook.
8) David slew Goliath, he did not kick the $$=+ out of him.
9) When David was hit by a rock and was knocked off his donkey, don't say he
was stoned off his ass.
10)We do not refer to the cross as the "Big T."
11)When Jesus broke the bread at the last supper he said, "take this and eat it
for it is my body." He did not say " Eat me" .
12)The Virgin Mary is not called " Mary with the Cherry,.
13)The recommended grace before a meal is not: Rub-A-Dub-Dub thanks for
the grub, Yeah God.
14)Next Sunday there will be a taffy pulling contest at St.Peter's not a peter
pulling contest at St. Taffy's!

Have a great day everyone!

This was interesting

Stolen from Lady Strange's livejournal:
Your Birthdate: December 4

You have an extraordinary character - moral, responsible, and disciplined.
Your sincerely and honesty shine through in almost every situation.
Driven and focused, you rarely let your emotions get the better of you.
You're level headed and rational. People count on your to look at things objectively.

Your strength: Your unwavering loyalty and ethics

Your weakness: Your rock solid stubbornness

Your power color: Navy blue

Your power symbol: Shield

Your power month: April

Well, unfortunately, the rumor is true. Major Tom is leaving us. ** BOO HOO!**
He's been offered his OWN store ( a "Medicine Shoppe" in town) and he just couldn't resist. I can't blame him, although we will miss him terribly. I have worked for Walgreens for over 20 years, and have never had a boss more kind, fun and considerate as he has been. Now we are all wondering who we'll be stuck with in replacement. Actually, I will be the only one that is truly "stuck". The rest of the girls in the pharmacy have other "jobs" that they can run to, if the new manager turns out to be a pain. I'm just too close to earning my retirement to "jump ship" at this point. The rest of them can transfer, quit, or something. So this holiday season will be interesting to say the least! But I do wish him all the best. He really deserves it.

Other than that, not a lot going on in my world. Work, home, sleep! But I'll have the next few days off, so I'll have more time to "play" here. I've only been surfing a little the last few days, as my energy level isn't as good as I'd hoped. But I notice that "our guys" are giving me a birthday present this year! I'll have to fore-go the dinner out, in order to catch them on T.V.! What is that, 4 times in the last year? It's been entirely too long since we've been able to say that- Huh?! Good times again!

Well, I'd better get myself ready for work. I'll catch you all tomorrow, in the mean time, have a good one!

Peace and Love, KC

Well, I made it

Through the first day anyway. And as I suspected, my legs and feet were killing me! I didn't notice how tired I was until I was home and sat down, then OH BOY! But at least I didn't forget everything at work ( except my locker combo- lol!)

I'm also starting a diet today. I just need to "kick-start" my weight loss. It's one of those diets that they give cardiac patients, who need to drop weight fast. It's a 3 days on, 4 days off thing. That's always my problem with a diet. I'm great for the first few days, and then I tend to cheat. ( yea, I know- no will power whatsoever!) It's also hard to do when you have so much junk food available at work. My co-workers keep a virtual candy shop in the pharmacy. But I can handle it for 3 days! And I just need to lose about 10 lbs to be able to fit into my clothes without pain! It's amazing to me how much weight I put on while on leave. And I know about losing weight fast- that you put it back on just as fast. But I will be active again, so that shouldn't be a problem. But I don't want to have to go out and buy new clothes, while I'm this heavy, so there you go!

I probably won't be back here until Thursday. I work late tonight, and then turn around and work the early shift Wednesday. But I just thought you all would like to know how it went. And I got wind of some bad news at work yesterday- Major Tom may be leaving. I hope I heard wrong- I'd hate to see who we'd get as a replacement! I know we've been spoiled, but I just hate the thought of breaking in a new Pharmacy Manager. Or worse yet, getting "Attila the Hun" after having Tom! But I don't know for sure, so that's for me to find out this week.

Have a great day all, I'll catch you later!
Peace and Love, KC

Just another Sunday

And boy, am I tired for some reason. I guess I had a little "too much" fun at the BIL's yesterday *smirk*. And there was a bunch of stuff I wanted to get done today, since I go back to work tomorrow. That's right- Normal starts at 10am tomorrow. I'm sure I'll be glad to be back for at least a week. Then reality will hit, and I'll probably be bitching about something having to do with work. But at least I won't be bored/frustrated anymore.

And if I'm not here for the next few days, don't panic. It will probably take me a couple of days to get used to being on my feet 8 hours straight. So I may collapse when I get home for awhile. But I will be back, and have something more exciting than my usual gardening/family/boring stuff ( I hope!) Oh, and I got this from a friend. In honor of my "freedom", I thought you all would like to start off the week with a few giggles ( or end your weekend, which ever you prefer!)
...............................................

At a cocktail party, one woman said to another,
"Aren't you wearing your wedding ring on the wrong
finger?"
"Yes, I am. I married the wrong man."

A lady inserted an ad in the classifieds:
"Husband Wanted"
Next day she received a hundred letters.
They all said the same thing:
"You can have mine."

When a woman steals your husband,
there is no better revenge than to let her keep him.

A woman is incomplete until she is married. Then she
is
finished.

A little boy asked his father,
"Daddy, how much does it cost to get married?"
Father replied, "I don't know, son, I'm still paying."

A young son asked,
"Is it true, Dad, that in some parts of Africa
a man doesn't know his wife until he marries her?"
Dad replied, "That happens in every country, son."

Then there was a ! woman who said,
"I never knew what real happiness was until I got
married,
and by then, it was too late."

Marriage is the triumph of imagination over
intelligence.

If you want your spouse to listen and
pay strict attention to every word you say -- talk in
your sleep.

Just think, if it wasn't for marriage, men would go
through life thinking they had no faults at all.

First guy says, "My wife's an angel!"
Second guy remarks, "You're lucky. Mine's still
alive."

A Woman's Prayer
Dear Lord, I pray for Wisdom, to understand a man, to
love and to forgive him, and for Patience, for his
moods. Because, Lord,
if I pray for Strength, I'll just beat him to death.

AND NOW FOR THE FAVORITE!!!

Husband and wife are waiting at the bus stop with
their nine children. A blind man joins them after a few
minutes. When the bus
arrives, they find it overloaded and only the wife and
the nine kids are
able to fit onto the bus.

So the husband and the blind man decide to walk. After
a
while, the husband gets irritated by the ticking of
the stick of the
blind man as he taps it on the sidewalk, and says to
him, "Why don't you
put a piece of rubber at the end of your stick? That
ticking sound is
driving me crazy."

The blind man replies, "If you would've put a rubber
at
the end of YOUR stick, we'd be riding the bus ... so
shut the hell up."
........................

Have a great week all, and I'll let you know how it's going ( And I've changed the video to some very fitting "back to work" music...... ;-))
Peace and Love, KC

** Edit- 8:30 pm**
AND THE WINNER IS:

Gotta love my Guys!! And I've gotten to see them 3 weeks in a row- a small miracle for me down here!
Going to dream of the play-offs tonight. Maybe another nail-bitter come January for me :-p.
Peace, KC

Last day of "vacation"

Sort of. I go today to Dr. B- and hopefully he will release me to go back to work next week. I'll be glad to get back to normal, even if it means going back to the "retail grind" right as Christmas season kicks in. I am SO OVER being on disability. I want my life back, DAMN IT!

A couple of things today. First, something to start the weekend off right:

Acheron Parthenopaeus, Master of the Dark Hunters. (AKA- Travis Fimmel, model, actor, and all around hunk). A little young, but hey, I'm not dead yet! Brad, eat your heart out!

My "River BIL" is having yet ANOTHER party tomorrow. Jeez, did someone drop a pin? He just loves to entertain, and no one seems to complain about it. So I'm sure I'll have more silly pictures to share this weekend. And the car's fixed, the flowers planted, the house clean. So I'm planning on spending this weekend just relaxing, and spending time with my loved ones. Which means I will be back here! In the mean time, my usual Friday offerings.
Oh, and don't forget- I've changed the lyrics and video. No one's guessed it yet, so the points are still up for grabs!( **EDIT** DeflepKim managed to guess it while I was typing this- SORRY!) I think I've got a good "prize" for the winner at the end of the year ( and no, it's not me showing up at your door- though I'd love to see you all!) So without any further ado.... YOUR FUNNIES!!!!!!!---------->
.................................................

Do you know that many non-living things have a gender?

1) Ziploc Bags are Male, because they hold everything in and you can see right through them.

2) Copiers are Female, because once turned off, it takes a while to warm them up again. They're an effective reproductive device if the right buttons are pushed, but can wreak havoc if the wrong buttons are pushed.

3) A Tire is Male, because it goes bald and it's often over-inflated.

4) A Hot Air Balloon is Male, because, to get it to go anywhere, you have to light a fire under it, and of course, there's the hot air part.

5) Sponges are Female, because they're soft, squeezable and retain water.

6) A Web Page is Female, because it's always getting hit on.

7) A Subway is Male, because it uses the same old lines to pick people up.

8) An Hourglass is Female, because over time the weight shifts to the bottom.

9) A Hammer is Male, because it hasn't changed much over the last 5,000 years, but it's handy to have around.

10) A Remote Control is Female.

Ha! You thought it'd be male, didn't you? But consider this - it gives a man pleasure, he'd be lost without it, and while he doesn't always know the right buttons to push, he keeps trying.

( with thanks, once again to my "roomie" Janine!)

And my Cousin Patti contributes once again!
( sorry to my Republican friends- but this IS funny!)

.......
A man died and went to heaven. As he stood in front of St. Peter at the
Pearly Gates, he saw a huge wall of clocks behind him. He asked, "What
are all those clocks?"

St. Peter answered, "Those are Lie-Clocks. Everyone on earth has a
Lie-Clock. Every time you lie, the hands on your clock will move."

"Oh," said the man, "whose clock is that?"

"That's Mother Teresa's. The hands have never moved, indicating that
she
never told a lie."

"Incredible," said the man. "And whose clock is that one?" St. Peter
responded, "That's Abraham Lincoln's clock. The hands have moved twice,
telling us that Abe told only two lies in his entire life."

"Where's President Bush's clock?" asked the man.

"Bush's clock is in Jesus' office. He's using it as a ceiling fan."

Just a short one today

As I have a flat tire on my car, and I have to take it down to get fixed. I don't understand how it happened. But it's one of the new tires I just bought before we went on vacation, so I'll be darned if I'm gonna pay for a new one! They'll just have to fix it.

I've changed the scrolling lyrics once again. An oldie but goodie this time! And I'm burning a DVD to send to a certain friend of ours- so I can mail it on the way home.
Have fun- and have a good day!

Tech help please!!

Well, as I've stated, I'm trying to get a bunch of odds & ends done this week before I go back to work ( and therefore have no time!) One of the things I'm doing is burning a bunch of stuff on CD, and organizing my stereo's CD player. I have one of those 300 ct. Sony players, and I'm trying to load in all my new CD's, and reprogram them all into it. Get organized there, if you will.

Anywho, I thought I'd put a "bootleg" section in, to keep all the concerts I've gotten over the past few years. My problem is with the ones called "Album wraps". Now, I don't really have a problem with trackless recordings. Heck, if I'm going to listen to a concert, I usually listen to the whole thing. But I have 3 that are just too long to fit on a single disc. I have Roxio 6 on here, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to split the recordings into 2 discs, or how to make tracks appear where there aren't any! I used to be able to do it with my old Nero program, but of course, I've lost that one! So any help would be greatly appreciated. I might just go ahead and buy new burning software, since my Roxio is about 3 years old anyway. So if you have a realy good one, let me know that too! Otherwise- HELP??????

Oh, and my veggie/herb garden is done. Now I just have to find some tomato cages, before they get too big:

Tomatos, Peppers, Collards, Cabbage and Califlower

Lettuce, Eggplant, Broccoli, and assorted herbs!

If all of these come out, I'm gonna have enough to tide me over until spring! And what's nice about this is it's right off our back porch, which is right off the kitchen. 5 steps out the door, and fresh everything! Jon just loves it.

Well, I've got more stuff to burn. So I'll get back to it. And if any of you can help me, I'd really appreciate it! Have a great "Hump Day"!
Peace and Love, KC

A special birthday, and some Halloween pics!

First off, Happy Birthday to the most talented, sweet, courageous drummer in Rock!

Happy Day to you, Rick Allen!

Well, Halloween was pretty good. Andy had originally wanted to go out with his friends, but that would have left Kimmie to go alone. So we convinced his friend to go with us ( and his parents, more importantly!) So here they are:
Kimmie and Andy:

Kim, Andy and Eric:

Snow White, the "black Mage" and a Zombie. Now, sing with me " One of these things is not like the other, One of these things just doesn't belong......." ;-)

I had hoped to get a few things done here yesterday- WRONG! Mom called, saying she needed me to help her run some errands. Seems her "puppy from hell" has been destroying her playpen ( where she stays while Mom is out) and Mom wanted to get her a proper "cage". She will need one when Mom goes back to work. Well, we ended up spending the time at Petsmart arguing. Mom wants something that just doesn't exist! She wants a cage, with a waterproof pad, that opens on the top ( they all open on the side!) etc......! Every time I came up with options, she told me I just didn't understand what she needed- I didn't live with this puppy- how could I know what she needed??? Like I have NEVER had a dog, for the love of...... UGH! And she doesn't want to spend a lot of money on all this. But just the cage alone( the size she needs/wants is over $100! I just gave up. I had told her she shouldn't get a puppy, that it would be too much work for her at her age, but does she listen to me? NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

It seems like yesterday was "let's not get along day". No matter what I said, she disagreed. No matter what subject we talked about- I didn't know squat! Everything I mentioned ( like who named our family boat back in the day) I got wrong?! She said I was delusional??? Jeez, I had a major headache, just trying to avoid topics that would stir the pot! And then she started on politics! I just kept saying "I'm not discussing this with you" but she just kept on. I had to come home and lay down, she took so much out of me. And I had such a mood-on, that it was difficult not to snap at the kids. I know, it wasn't their fault, but I was soooo stressed out. I didn't loose it, but it took some MAJOR control. Ever have one of those days where you just want to get in your car and DRIVE AWAY? Yesterday was that for me.

So today I'm going to do something very peaceful. Plant some flowers/veggies/herbs. Drink some tea. Listen to some music. And NOT ANSWER THE DAMN PHONE!! ( well, not the land-line, I'll answer my cell- she doesn't know THAT #) Everyone help me here- I love my mother, I love my mother, I love my mother..........

Have a good day all! I'll be out in the garden!

Peace and Love, KC
