Just thought I'd share....

A couple of pictures I found:

The kids, circa 2002:

And at my BIL's wedding- (Andy was about 6 weeks old at the time, so I guess Becky is just shy of her 4th b-day in this one!) Me, Becky and Jon:

I've been watching the TV new recently. They've had a lot of info about Hurricane preparedness. One of the things they mention is to scan all your important documents, put them on disc, and into a safe-deposit box. And your important photo's as well. So I'm going to take one day to do that. But as I haven't exactly worked the scanner portion of my new printer, I thought I'd give it a try to see how easy it was. Works pretty good, doesn't it?! I'll have to get all the stuff organized before I start that task though. All of the important papers are in the file cabinet under their various headings. All those folders are right together- easy to snatch in an emergency though!

Work yesterday was pretty good. We were slow as heck, and "D" and I had a talk. I think we "understand" each other a little better now. Not that everything will be sunshine and roses from now on- but at least we both know where we stand. Should help to ease some of the tension though!

Well, I hope you all had a great weekend. We really didn't do a heck of alot. Just the usual cleaning and such. One thing I hate about Memorial day is that all the movies and shows on TV are "war" related. I've been treated to a "Band of Brothers" marathon all weekend long! Not that I think the show isn't good, but I'm not a big "war" movie fan. If I want that kind of reality- I'll watch the evening news, thankyousoverymuch! But the guys in the family loved it, so I just read a book!

We've had some rain lately. But not enough- and with it came lightening and MORE fires! I'm getting so sick of the smell of smoke in the air. And so many of the major highways are being shut down because of it. Hell, if anyone from the Orlando area wanted to come over here to the beach, they'd've had a hard time of it today. Most of the east-west roads from there to here were closed because of the smoke. We need about a week of solid rain before this will end- and they don't see that happening. *SIGH*

Well, I've got to get Kimmie's bath now, and finish folding some clothes. I did get lucky with the schedule this week. I originally was scheduled to work until 9pm Wednesday night ( which would have gotten me home after VH1 Honors started!) But due to a glitch, I now am only working until 2 pm in the afternoon. Plenty of time to get chores done, and settle down to a great night of TV. Becky and Andy and I will be camped out in the livingroom, with the DVR set, waiting to "GET ROCKED"!
If any of you want to share- you know where I'll be ;-)

Peace and Love, KC!

Well, that Sucks!

I got some pretty good video yesterday of us goofing around at Mom's pool. The problem is my phone is not "talking" to my computer again! Sheesh! How many time will I have to re-download the software before the darn stuff works! Next time I'll just take Becky's camera. That at least I have no problems with.

Well, I'm working the night shift today, and also Sunday. Both shifts with "D"- so we'll see how it goes. Her and I alone for 2 whole shifts should really show whether or not she's "changed" her tune. But meanwhile, I get both Sat. and Monday off, so at least I'll get a little time to spend with the family this weekend. So before I go off to "Hell central", I figured I'd better get this posted. This weeks funny comes from our very own Robin!

It's a special day!

Happy Birthday Michael. Sol's very own "Studly Knight"! Resident artist extraordinare!
One of the first on-line friends I had. It has been a pleasure getting to know you Michael. If I ever get up to visit the relatives, seeing you will be top of the list of things to do! May your day be filled with fun, laughter, and smiles!

Well, Schools out here, and the kids are already trying to drive me "Looney Tunes". Andy's been hanging over my shoulder here all morning like a vulture. Kimmie's no doubt making a mess of my livingroom. Becky has just now crawled out of her bed, and is now laying on mine ( well, it's a start!)* warning- proud parent bragging alert!* My kids both passed their FCAT's with 4's in both reading and math!( graded 1-5 with 2.5 being a passing grade) And Andy brought home straight A's this last semester! ( Kimmie is too young for grades and FCAT- but she got all excellents/satisfactories in all her subjects!) I've always thought my kids were smart- this just backs up that theory in truth! ( p.s.- FCAT's are the state wide tests that are part of the "no-child-left-behind" thing. The tests that grade the schools, along with the students in them.) or as we like to call them- PITA tests!

We're off to meet with Mom, and get the kids their bathing suits. They've pretty much out-grown the ones they have and since Mom's got the discount at Bealls ( local clothing chain) That makes it easier on my finances! Which are a little drained due to a sudden increase in my CD collection ;-).

I'll be back later. I'm going to try and get some video for you all. Perhaps some poolside antics or some such.( Mom's townhouse complex has a pool- we don't!) And just for the record- there will be NO pictures of me in a bathing suit. Unless I'm in the water up to my chin! The world is just NOT ready for that!

Have a great day all! I will "see" you all later!
Peace and Love, KC!

You must listen to me!

* uses hypnotic voice*
You must get up, go to your local Best Buy/Target/Wal-mart store, and buy THIS:

You will NOT fight this urge! You will be so motivated, that you will go and buy ALL the versions. You will not pass go, and not collect $200.............

HEHEHE! Sorry, I couldn't resist!
I have a couple of things though. I bought my fanclub membership, and when I logged on- noticed the contest for the tickets for the Vegas show. Well, being the good girl that I am, I read the contest rules ( which I usually don't!) It seems that if you live in NY, FL, RI, PR, and territories- YOU CAN'T enter???? WTF? I've PM'ed Mark ( or whoever the Admin is on the forum) to see if they know anything. Or if they can point me to whoever does. It just seems silly that I've entered contests like this for various other concerts/trips/etc- and now with the one I'd like to win the most, I'm barred from entry. This, IMHO- SUCKS!
Just had to get that off my chest!

Work is going, and it seems that Mr. P. must have had his little talk with "D". Because it's going much smoother. And our local trainer came by, and told me that the "powers that be" know about the situation as well. So I'll see how it all goes. I'm not going to hold my breath, but at least I'm not dreading going to work at the moment. We'll have to see if that changes.

Today is the last day of school for my kids. Which means my house will now probably be in a purpetual state of chaos until August. We've decided to have Becky ( and Andy- to a degree)watch Kimmie over the summer. That will save me $70 a week ( I'm paying her $40 ) and since I have at least 1 day off during the week- It should work out well. I just can't see spending all that money on a daycare, when I have Becky here to watch her. Jon and I will be here alot as well, so It's not like she won't get the chance to "go and do" stuff. I'm also doing this to teach her some lessons in responsibility. She'll have to earn her money for CD's and such now- instead of "good ol' Mom" forking over the money. I worked at a peach farm at 15 to earn my keep. I worked all through HS truth be told. Not that my family couldn't afford stuff, but it was to teach me the value of earning my own way. I think it's a lesson all young people should learn. I can't begion to tell you about all the kids that I've seen ( through work) that have no sense of work=money. They've always been able to get anything they've wanted from their parents- so why bother? This will NOT be my kids- if I can help it!

Now, I really have to get going. I've got to go to Target, then Best buy- before work at 11am. I'm on a mission. I must have these discs.
( is it possible to hypnotize yourself?)

Peace and Love, KC!

Thank goodness this week is over!

Because it hasn't been one of the good ones! I went in Tuesday, with the idea in mind to have a good long talk with Mr. P. But about an hour into my shift, I started feeling lousy. Pain all around my stomach, like someone was putting my intestines through the ringer. After about an hour of that, it became a sharp, stabbing pain on my side. I couldn't barely stand up straight. So once the late shift tech came on, I was sent home from work. Which is where I've been since. Apparently, I'm ( to put it as gently as I can) "stopped up". I called my Dr. yesterday afternoon, and he told me what to do about it. Well, after drinking that bottle of green, foul, awful, vile, ( let's see, any others? Nope!) Crap! I am doing better. But I had to take today off, because I don't think it would do them any good for me to work from the ladie's room ;-).

I have to say ( despite the pain)I have been very happy sitting here. I usually keep VH1Classic on in the background while I read or crochet. I don't think the Leps have been on TV this much since 1988! Commercials, Videos, everything! I counted- just for shits and giggles- and between 9-11am yesterday, the Commercial for "YEAH!" was on 5 TIMES!!!!! And I'm not counting the VH1 Rock honors, the Sirius commercial, and all the other stuff with them in it! ( I just turned the station on as I sit here, and the Yeah one is on AGAIN! OH! And NOW the commercial for the tour!) I swear, after the last couple of days- if anyone could say "Def Leppard? Are they still around?" We'd all have a license to smack them up-side the head! Even Jon noticed ( And believe me- he NEVER does!).
Another little "put a smile on your face" moment. One of Becky's favorite bands is the All American Rejects. Well, she was watching Fuse the other day, and they were interviewing the boys. Steve ( interviewer) asked them about their love of bands like DL and JBJ, and would they ever concider covering one of their songs. The guitar player ( whose name excapes me right now) said " Yes, as a matter of fact, we're doing Photograph. Talk about Sh*tting your pants! I have to play it in front of them! I've been practicing it for a month, and will keep on until it's over!"
Isn't that sweet? He's scared silly about playing it in front of them! As IF the guys from DL would rag on them for it. She DVR'd it, and you should have seen their faces- 1/2 total FEAR, and 1/2 awe! Priceless!
Well, I feel the need to go elsewhere right now, so I'd better wrap this post up! You all know what comes next; This compliments from Janine ( HI Sweetie!)

The value of a good drink:

I feel shame. Then I look into the glass and think
about the workers in the vineyards and all of their hopes

of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say
to myself, "It is better that I drink this wine and let their
dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver."

And saving the best for last, as explained by Cliff Clavin, of Cheers.
One afternoon at Cheers, Cliff Clavin was explaining the Buffalo Theory to his buddy Norm.
Here's how it went:

"Well ya see Norm...A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers."

WARNING: The consumption of alcohol may make you think you are whispering when you are not.

I have to tell you all

about a little conversation I had with one of our assistants last night ( called CH for now)
I had taken a register drawer to the office, and was waiting for her to come complete my check-out so I could go home. It ws another 9 hour shift, and while my new sneakers are helping somewhat my legs were still hurting. She came into the office just as I had decided to sit down in one of the chairs. I don't normally, since once I sit down, it hurts even MORE to stand back up! Anywho, I made a comment along the lines of "I'm wiped out" or some such, and she said " I have to tell you about a conversation I had with Mr. P today" . And then she preceded to tell me how she had told him that the only person that seemed to give a crap about the customers back there ( I.E. Pharmacy dept.) was Karen ( ME!) . And how I was running around "killing myself" to try and keep our customers happy. AND how I was getting NO co-operation from any of my fellow co-workers. Then CH proceeded to tell me how she warned him that I would probably only put up with this abuse for so long before:
A- I transfered to another store that would appreciate my efforts,
B- My health suffered because of the stress/workload/effort I was putting out,
C- I went "postal" on someone,
D- all or any combo of the above.

She also mentioned how she had noticed that I was constantly being pushed down to the registers ( assumingly because of my "customer service" attitude) and that it was not fair to me that I be constantly put in the "line of fire" with no back-up ( well, big fat hairy DUH!) and Mr. P. had better go back there and have a talk with everyone before the store lost a very valuable employee ( Moi!). CH told me he had said "yes, I've seen that lately. I'm going to have a serious talk with everyone back there, and see if things can't get back on an even keel". To which I said ( to CH)- NOT WITH "D" running the show they won't. She has her favorites, and that's it. And I'M NOT one of her favorites. She only uses me when no one else knows how to do something. Then she uses me only to train someone else, and then it's back to the cash register I go!

Now, back when Major Tom was around- everyone took turns at the various stations. First person in at the "in-window", second filled, third manned drive thru. And as the day progressed everyone rotated the stations. That way- no one was "stuck" at any one place all day. Decreased stress, since "in-window" and register/drive-thru are the roughest places to work. Now- I am usually on mid-shifts. And I'm automatically pushed to the register. Christy, who is taking over as senior tech has been marching her happy little butt right down to the typing station- no matter what shift she is working! Passed me right by yesterday! That hurt. I ran register ALL FLIPPIN' DAY!

So, I'm thinking I should have a talk with Mr. P. today. Tell him something along the lines of "if things don't change- I'm requesting a transfer!" The only thing is that he's having family issues right now, and I hate to "burden" him any more ( His Dad is in the hospital with congestive heart failure and not doing too well) He's really been supportive of me through all my problems health-wise. I'd hate to upset him any more than he is already. But I just don't know how much more of this crap I can take. But at least SOMEONE sees my problem. There may be some hope yet. I mean, I've been looking for ways to get out of work, and that's just NOT like me. I've never been that type to call in "fake-sick". but I've been tempted more than once lately. Hell, I thought about it yesterday, when I got the phone call from the school. You know- "Kimmie's too upset and I have to stay home with her......" blah blah blah. But I hate lying worse. So I hauled my sorry butt to work. And even "D" thought I wouldn't be in because of it.

I think I'm a glutton for punishment

Or I love abuse

Or I'm just stupid!
Take your pick ;-)

Have a good day all- I may just scream loud enough for you all to hear me today- Do you think they'd hear me then????????????
Peace and Love, KC.

I just don't believe this!

I just recieved a phone call from the Elementary school that Andy & Kim go to. It seems that some lady HIT THEIR BUS on the way to school this morning! They're ok, no one was hurt ( a couple of banged elbows and such ) but HOW IN THE HECK can you not see a school bus????? Apparently, the lady said she had dew on her side window and could not see it? I'm sorry- but a BIG, orange object would show up through just about anything- don't you think? And since the accident took place about 2 blocks from the school, wouldn't you think someone driving around there would know to be on the look-out for buses that time of the morning? Sheesh!

Well, I'm supposed to be on my way to work, so I'd better get my rear in gear!

Have a great day all!

One big...

Friday funnie:

Gov. Jeb Bush Unveils New Plan to Protect Florida from Hurricanes

State gives go-ahead to Trojan Company

Now ALL the homes in Florida can be called "condom-iniums"

HAHAHAHAHA!

Well, I work the "mid-shift" today, then off all weekend. Which means I've got too much to do. But hey, It's Mother's day this weekend, so at least I'll be able to get some help Sunday with the housework. Bribery is a wonderful thing sometimes!
Oh and a big old front came through yesterday- and we got a whopping 1/4 inch of rain. Which we could have used about 100x more of! But at least the smoke is not as thick in the air now. I was getting pretty tired of smelling that. Not to mention, it starts to give you a dry, scratchy throat that just doesn't go away.

Oh, and I did get some new sneakers yesterday. New Balance are the brand. The nurses at the chemo lab said they swear by them, so we'll see. They'd better work- they cost me ( after a $10 coupon) $60! Any of you remember when a pair of Keds were $5?
Sheesh!

Have a great Friday all!
Peace and Love, KC!

P.S.- Sill looking for any suggestions/additions for my "letter to the editor"! ( see post below!) ;-)

So, tell me what you think???

rough draft of the letter I've been DYING to send to the paper for years:
........................................
An open letter to all who shop:
I have worked in the retail industry for over 20 years. In that time I have encountered many instances where there has miscommunication/misunderstandings between the shopping public and ourselves. I have often felt the need to express these things in the hopes that it will help all of us. So here are just a few tips/reminders that should help all of us have a more relaxing, enjoyable experience:

1- The clerk that is waiting on you does not make store/corporate policy. They do not order the merchandise or make the rules regarding returns, purchases, displays etc. ( unless, of course it is a small, "Mom & Pop" establishment- I am speaking of large, corporate retail outlets here) If there is a problem with any of these things, it is always better to ask for a member of Management. The clerk in question is usually only doing what they are told to do. They are, after all, trying to make a living. And believe me, they would all much rather make it without upsetting/annoying the customer. It does NOT make our day to do so, I can assure you!

2- The time you shop could very well affect the extent of the customer service which you receive.
Yes, I'm sorry to say this is true. You see, if you shop during certain hours ( 8 - 9 am, 11:30am - 1pm, 4:30 - 6 pm) you will most likely get less customer service. That is because they are the rush hours, where everyone wants everything NOW! ( rushing to/from work, school, what-have-you) That is just the nature of things. This is especially true for those in the non-working/retirement section of our population. If you want our undivided attention, or anything fast- do not shop at those times. It's really that simple!

And for those of you who say to this- "why not just put on more staff at those times?" Well the sad truth of the matter is in the retail environment, the #1 way to keep cost down is through payroll. If they don't see lots of profit, they balance the books by decreasing the number of man-hours allowed to staff the store. That is also something that is "corporate policy" and not controlled by the individual establishments. Believe me- we would LOVE more help!

3- Drive thru windows.
Did you know that ( and I have asked around about this) most drive-thru lanes have bells/buzzers that go off as you drive up? That there is no need to push the one at the window. That is there strictly for emergencies, or if someone does not acknowledge your presence within a reasonable length of time. Please, for our sanity ( hearing bells go off all day long is taxing to one's mental health!) give us a chance to get to you! If there is no one at the window when you drive up, they are probably busy working somewhere near! Thank you!

4- Shopping on a holiday.
One of the many "pet-peeves" of those of us in the service industry. Now by working in said industry, we realize we will have to work holidays. That just comes with the jobs. But the stickler here is those of you who shop on those days, and say "Gee, I'm so sorry you have to work on *insert your holiday here*! " The truth of the matter is, if you all did not shop on those days, we would probably not be there. The old "supply & demand" theory again. There are always emergency needs of course, and that is understandable. We would just rather get on with the job at hand, so we too can go home to family and friends. Thank you anyway!

(this is where I'll probably add more as I get ideas from co-corkers)

I am sure there of some of you out there who will be able to add to this list. I am sure it not complete by any stretch of the imagination. These are just some of the things that come up in talking to some of my fellow retail workers. And some of you will call this an exercise in "whine-ology". But the truth of the matter is, I hope by stating this we can all understand a little more. I really do enjoy my job or I would not still be there after all this time. People for the most part, are wonderful. But if these few words make it easier for all of us- why not?

.....................................................

So- am I crazy? Does this make sense to any of you? Do you think I should send it in and see what happens? I've been "jonesing" to do this for years now, and I sat down the other day to see what I could come up with. I will OF COURSE ask that my name not be printed, as I don't want the corporate wonks at my workplace to know it's me. That would probably get me into some serious hot-water! But I'd like to know what you all think of what I wrote- and please be honest!

Now, off to Curves I go!
Peace and Love, KC!

P.S.- If you have anything to add to my "letter"- let-'r-rip! I'd love some additional input!

well, I was just crusing around..... And a few short thoughts:

Well, we got a sprinkle of rain- but not enough to do any good. So there's still a ton of smoke in the air. Crap! Jeb Bush even called in the Guard to help get these things under control. Which means that things are only gonna get worse.

I work the night shift today, which normally is not my *favorite* shift to work. But at least I work with someone other that "D". So it won't be a total loss! But at least I got the chance this morning to get some cleaning done, and go to Curves. I didn't manage to make it all last week, what with my Mom's surgery and everything. So that's a good thing- No?

I also saw that I-Tunes has the single "Rock On" up. WOO HOO! I hope they make a cool video for this one. The concert performance was so cool, I'd hate to see a crappy video. Only 2 weeks and counting......

Well, I'd better get going. I have tomorrow and Thursday off, so I'll be here, if anyone wants to chat. Take care of you and yours!
Peace and Love, KC!

Monday morning blues..

Well, not really. Although I had to work 9 hours yesterday, and 9 & 1/2 today. So I'll probably be worthless come this evening. Even though my Dr. has told me that my legs/feet should start feeling better soon, I haven't seen/felt any sign of it. Hopefully, they'll get better soon. It's hell to have this problem, and have to stand on your feet at work for 8+ hours!

I had mentioned before ( and some of you have probably seen on TV) about the fires down here. They're getting worse, with no rain in sight. And before you ask, they are 30 miles north of me- but still........

I took this yesterday morning. ( Keep your eyes open, and you'll catch a glimpse of Jon!) It does get better later in the day, due to the shore breezes. At night, when the winds are calm, is when it just blankets the coast. The smell outside is the kind I used to remember when we burned the fall leaves at the curb. Except it's MUCH stronger. And everything smells of smoke. Anyone down here with breathing problems is having a really rough time. I know some parents have said they have to keep their kids indoors, or with masks on, due to asthma. I just wish we'd get some rain down here soon. All the drainage ditches ( we don't have sewers per se- we have a series of drainage ditches and canals that funnel rain/water to the St. John's river) are almost dry! They have a scale they're using to measure the drought:

We're in the 550 range in my county. And they said if we don't get rain in the next week or two, we'll go over 600. That's when even the smallest spark could cause a fire. And since we have a *habit* down here of having not just rain, but thunderstorms, it could get tricky. The rain would be welcome, but the lightening could cause MORE problems. Thankfully, I live in an area that is highly unlikely to get a brush fire. The closest "wooded" area to me is about 3 miles away, and would have to plow through several neighborhoods to get to me. Small comfort though, when it's hard to catch a breath outside!

Ok, off that topic! Becky just reminded me this morning that the kids have 2 weeks left until school lets out. Isn't that weird? They start the beginning of August here, and end in May. Don't ask me why- that's just what's evolved the last 10 years or so. They supposedly have a bill to the legislature here to get back to a more "normal" schedule ( start the week before Labor Day) but it hasn't passed yet. So there goes any chance of a clean livingroom for the next few months! BLEH!

Well, I'd better get off this thing, and get ready for work. I'm just not looking forward to putting my shoes back on my feet, they still hurt from yesterday. *SIGH*

Have a good week, and I'll be back tomorrow!
Peace and Love, KC!

Sorry!

I know this weeks posts have been rather thin. I just had too much on my plate.( I hope this is the LAST of it!) Mom's doing really well, and went out tonight with some of her friends for dinner. They've decided to take over where I left off. And I went to work today, and all I got was good vibes! SOOOO Scary! But at least I'm not being hounded for taking so much time off......

Well, I know this is late. I'm scheduled for early shifts for the next few Fridays. So I'll either post them late Thursday, or y'all will just have to wait until Friday night. Sorry- but that's just how things are going in my world right now. But at least I have a couple of concert tickets in my hands, that put a big ol' smile on my silly face!
So, with out any more crap- Your Friday Funnies! First one from Kat:

The value of a good drink:

"Sometimes when I reflect back on all the wine I drink
I feel shame. Then I look into the glass and think
about the workers in the vineyards and all of their hopes
and dreams If I didn't drink this wine, they might be out
of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say
to myself, "It is better that I drink this wine and let their
dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver."

I'll be back tomorrow, with insights into why it's not good for a Mom to be gone too long from her family. Other than that------
Have a great weekend!!!

Hey- GOOD NEWS!

Well, I'm back- and thoroughly exhausted. But Mom's surgery went well, and her "Sentinal node" showed no signs of cancer!! So she's in pain, but should be ok in the end! As usual, your prayers and good wishes worked! THANK YOU!!!!

I had to leave the house this morning at 6am to get over to her house, her to the radiologist to get the guide wire in ( ????) and then surgery at 10 ( which actually didn't start until 11am). Out of surgery at 1:30, and home by 3pm. I'm shot! ( Now I know what Joe meant in that interview about sitting around waiting being so tiring- my mind is just numb!) I'm gonna get a good night's sleep tonight ( I didn't last night- guess is was worry) and then back to Mom's. She's having to take pain meds that have her unsteady on her feet. I don't trust her not to do something stupid, or even fall over or something by herself. But at least everyone at work ( Even "D"- scary!!!!) said my place is with Mom, and don't worry about them. So I'm taking the time. I'll try to get back here tomorrow, and let you know how she's doing. But it may be late again. I WILL be her Thursday though- I have to get some stuff done around here, and I just can't ignore my family all week.

Take care of you!
I'm for the bed! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Peace and Love, KC!

**EDIT, Weds AM***
Well, did I crash last night or what!!!??? First night in a L O N G time I haven't woken up at all. And I talked to Mom a few minutes ago, and she sounds much better. So I'm taking a little "me" time this morning, to catch up with you all before I go over to her place. And I called work this morning, just to make sure they knew I would not be there, and they've already got me covered. So I'm just going to go and enjoy the day ( as best I can) with Mom.

I see we have more tour dates! Well, I sort-of figured that would happen, what with the sales being so good for ones so far. And I see they are "revisiting" some places from earlier in the tour. Maybe this is because those venues sold out quickly? ( with no room in the schedule to add another day right then?) Perhaps. But I hope that they make it to Canada and the UK ( at least, more than the 2 dates the UK has at present!) I'm *kind-of* glad they are not coming back down here. I really need to NOT spend any more money this year, and I would be "required" to go if they came!

But I am glad to see that some of you are getting dates closer to home. I know it's frustrating to some of you- having already bought tickets to shows say, 6 hour away, only to get one NOW that's say- 2 hours away or less. But they obviously were waiting to see the response on this one, before booking a larger tour. I see it this way: Journey and DL both toured LAST summer ( which I don't believe they normally do- tour 2 summer's in a row) and they maybe thought that the demand wouldn't be there? ( Not from us, the core fan base, but the general concert-going-public) Now that they see that it's there, they are going for it! And I've seen some talk about all the dates in California ( despite your frustration, Kim- which I do feel for, believe me! Everyone and their brother only hits West Palm and Tampa on tour around here- they bypass ORLANDO?? which is more central, and has great venues????) NY and NJ. Well, Journey is FROM California, so that makes sense ( as do 3 of the DL guys now!) NY and NJ are big concert markets, any way you look at it. Let's just let things go for now, and see what happens. The only beef I have in all this is that the longer they tour, the longer we have to wait for that new, original DL album. They have often said they just can't write while on tour. As much as I'm looking forward to YEAH!, I want their stuff too. Well, I'll just have to pull out that "patience-gene" and deal!

Now it's time for me to clean up the mess that is my kitchen, and head over to Mom's. It's amazing to me how much of a mess my family can make when I'm not here. And how many dishes they can dirty, even if Dad didn't cook dinner. SHEESH!

Have a great Hump day!
Peace, KC!
