13 Days

And my kids will be back in school. Which means I've been spending a crap load of my downtime shopping. Which I don't really enjoy on a normal basis ( especially if it involves something for me!) And even less when you've got a cranky, uninterested 12 year old boy with you. I knew I was in trouble the minute I heard " Oh, God- shopping with 4 women! Just my idea of a good time!" coming out of his mouth. ( Mom was with us- she who has the discount at the dept. store) Becky will not wear anything but jeans. Andy will wear anything BUT jeans! Kimmie has to have all sorts of sparklies, designs, logos on her clothes. Becky is too short for most clothes- Kimmie too tall. And Andy will not try anything on! " looks good- I'll take it!" is his motto. Which is a hard thing to do when he's in that "growing 2 inches a month" stage of his life! Can you see why, along with work and household chores, I just haven't had the will/energy/strength to blog????

E-bay offering- buy 2 kids get the third free!

Anywho, that has been my life the last week or so. And I had to go to a meeting Saturday morning that saw me up and out of the house at 6am. Why do they have these things so far away and so early??? Got back around 12:30, went to the grocery store, and crashed! Then worked through to yesterday, when the afore mentioned shopping spree took place. But at least ( with the exception of the oddball stuff- see post below) I'm done with school prep. Just have to get Becky registered next Thursday. Which better go smoother than last year- or I just might loose it! They had signed her up for Spanish 2- and she had FAILED Spanish 1??!! Took 4 hours waiting around to get that fixed. Not the idea of a good time.

Work is going better. "D" has finally figured out that if she just bends alittle, and gets the darn Rx's done first, we'll be happier and do all her crappy paperwork and what I call "chickenshit" work. At least we've not had a customer complaint in almost 2 weeks. And that my friends, is good! She's also started rotating the duty stations again- which means I'm not stuck on register all day/everyday. I hear Mr. P. talked to her while I was on vacation that week, and this is the result. Don't really care- just glad it's back to what it's supposed to be. And so is everyone else! So for now- peace is back in "hell-central". I'll see how long it lasts.

Other than those things, just the same old, same old here. I'm taking a long weekend for Labor day weekend ( Sept. 1-4) since my anniversary is the 1st. I was hoping to be able to get away for a few days, but I don't think it's gonna happen. The problem with this family is that it's 5 people. You just can't book any old hotel with that many. 4 yes- but not 5. Not even if one of them ( Andy) is fine sleeping on a cot, or even a sleeping bag ( that boy can sleep anywhere!) So I'm limited to suites or booking 2 rooms. Which I don't like to do- I don't feel right having my kids in a separate room. Too much worry on Jon and my part. I was looking at Key West or St. Augustine, but with both the price of a suite is just too high for me to justify. So I guess we'll just hang close to home, and goof around here. Becky wants to paint her room, but the problem is she wants to paint it Black with purple trim! And since Kimmie shares the room......

*Sigh* Children, gotta love them.
(Remind me to ask my doctor about that Prozac prescription next time I go! lol!)

Until tomorrow- that is *IF* I get some jokes in the mail........ ;-)

Peace and Love, KC!

Well, MY BAD

For not getting to this Saturday. But as I've mentioned- I lost all of my
files on this thing, and for some strange reason ( old timer's disease
not doubt!) I could have sworn it was the 25th, not the 15th! Better

late than never though-

Happy Birthday Kim! Hope you had a good one sweetie!

Well, I got everything done that I wanted to. My closet is now a true
"walk-in" closet, with everything organized and neat. It's amazing
to me how much "stuff" I had stored in there- most of which I didn' t
really need. I used to be a world-class packrat, but I've learned over
the years that that's not a good thing. I mean, why would I need a
purse that I haven't liked or used in 3 years? And I'm never going
to wear those shoes again- so why let them take up space. And
despite my deepest wishes/desires- I got rid of all those jeans
whose size I will probably never be again. ( hell, if I ever lose that
much weight- I'll gladly buy new ones anyway!)

I also managed to go through all those pictures that I had stashed.
God- what a few revelations that brought about! I know I've always
had a "picture" in my mind of what I looked like. I've never been
skinny, not even close ( which only proves that while Becky may
have my face- she does NOT get her body from me!) But I looked
at a lot of those old photos and thought- " Holy SHIT- What was I thinking? I was NOT FAT back then!" Actually, I'd probably give my left....er... (nevermind- hehehe) to look that way again! You all
should do that sometime. I guess we never see ourselves in quite
the same light as we should.

So today I have to go back to " hell central". I wonder what lovely
things happened while I was gone? Should be interesting, for at
least a few hours.
And since I was "jolted" awake by a large sonic boom this morning,
should be interesting to see how my nerves play out!
( Shuttle landing- for those who care!)

One other "rant" before I close this post out. For those of you with
school-aged children: Do you have to buy all the "crap" as well? I
mean- between Andy and Kimmie ( Becky will not get her "supply
lists" until she goes to school) I have to buy:
4 boxes Kleenex
8 tennis balls ( used on chair feet to keep the class quiet, I'm told)
6 boxes baby wipes
4 boxes Zip-lock bags
2 headphones (?)
4 spiral art notebooks
4 large bottles hand soap/hand sanitizer
and a partridge in a pear tree ( not really, but you get my drift!)
This ON TOP of the usual 10 pounds of paper, pens, crayons, etc.
I know I'm talking "ancient history" here- but back when, I had to
bring a notebook, some paper and a couple of pens/pencils. Not to mention ( though I am!) that I can't just buy a bunch of folders.
They MUST be certain colors! Jeez- could someone please tell
me just what all those school taxes are paying for? 'Cause I know
it's not the teachers salaries- I have several friends who are teachers-
and believe me, it ain't their pay!
I will probably have to shell out over $150 dollars for supplies,
and that's BEFORE I even see if they fit their school clothes! Scary!

Okay, off that rant for the moment. I'm sure I'll come back to that
in a few weeks, since school down here starts the second week of
August. That's a bad month money-wise for me. Kids in school,
Jon's birthday ( along with his twin sister!) Car tags, registration
fee for the daycare ( which I have to put Kimmie back in, since
Becky gets out of school almost 2 hours after the other 2 do!)
6 good numbers- I just need 6 good numbers!
Have a great week all!
Peace and Love, KC!

Boy!

Anyone who thinks that having a week's vacation is relaxing has not
been living in my house! I swear, I'd've gotten more rest had
I been going to work.
Monday, as you all know, I went to WPB to the show. What a blast!
Both bands put on great performances- Do NOT be worried about
the "replacement" singer. Jeff Scott Soto is amazing! I hate to say
this ( because Journey fans will probably attack me) But I think Jeff
does the songs better that Steve A. did. Sorry- JMVHO here!

Back home on Tuesday, where I spent the day formatting my
pictures, laundry, and other assorted "mommy" details. Weds
I did a MAJOR cleaning. You know, down on the hands-and-knees scrubbing of floors ( instead of the mop!),Clean the carpets
( not just vacuum) etc. Dead flippin' exhausting. But at least
I can walk through my house with a smile ;-)

Yesterday, Becky and I worked on some "tech" stuff. Reloading
our i-Tunes, loading all the CD's I've purchased into my stereo,
and programming those into it. I have one of those Sony 300 CD
players, that have to be loaded, sequenced, and programmed.
I haven't done any of that in the last year. Oh, the CD's were put
in- but not in proper order ( alphabetically, then chronologically) for awhile! So all that had to be done. Since I was taking them
out to upload here, I figured doing both at once was easiest. So
running back and forth, unloading, rearranging and programming.
I was dizzy before all was said and done! But that's one of those
chores that needs the time, and motivation to get done.

Today, I'm heading into the "black hole" of my house- My closet!
I know I cleaned it out before ( actually, while I was home starting
my chemo) but time goes by- and the mess is back! So it's "purge"
time again- and I have 2 bags full of photos that we've amassed over
the years, and a pile of picture frames/albums. So hopefully I'll get
through them as well.

I do have one dilema. A whole shelf in my closet is taken up by the
box with my wedding dress. Now my Mom had it cleaned and packed
away after the wedding, but she said there are some stains on it
that wouldn't come out. And since it's a size 14, and both my
daughters would fit into it together with room to spare ( LOL),
I don't think they would use it. So do I throw it out- or see if anyone
would like it as a donation? I haven't even opened the box- and it's
been there for going on 22 years!? I'm DEFinately getting out of my
closet- but storage is a precious commodity around here. SOOOO-
What do you think? ( Also bear in mind, it's not a really classic
style dress- If I find a reasonable sized pic today- I'll scan and
post it!)

So that's been my week so far. With any luck- we'll get to the
movies this weekend. We're all dying to see "Pirates of the Carribean"
, so that will be my treat for getting all my "chores" done lol! And It
is friday- so a giggle or two for you all. These come from my buddy
from college Marshall:
.......................................

In Pharmacology, all drugs have two names, a trade name and generic
name. For example, the trade name of Tylenol also has a generic name of
Acetaminophen. Aleve is also called Naproxen. Amoxil is also called
Amoxicillin and Advil is also called Ibuprofen.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After
careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently
announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also
considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of
course, Ibepokin.

Pfizer Corp. also announced today that Viagra will soon be available in
liquid form, and will be marketed by Pepsi Cola as a power beverage
suitable for use as a mixer. It will now be possible for a man to literally
pour himself a stiff one. Obviously we can no longer call this a soft
drink, and it gives new meaning to the names of "cocktails", "highballs"
and just a good old-fashioned "stiff drink". Pepsi will market the new
concoction by the name of: MOUNT & DO
..................................
Thought for the day: There is more money being spent on breast
implants and Viagra today than on Alzheimer's research. This means that by
2040, there should be a large elderly population with perky boobs and huge
erections and absolutely no recollection of what to do with them.
..........................

HARHARHAR! Marshall was always the bawdy one of the crowd
- GOD LOVE HIM!
Have a great Friday- I'm sure I'll be back this weeked to see what you
all have to say about the dress ;-)
Peace and Love, KC!
P.S.- why is blogger acting funny? I post, my post runs under my
sidebar- even though it doesn't show up that way in preview. So I
modify my paragraphs to be away from the right side, and now
a couple of sentances still "stick out"???? WTF?
Sorry- I tried to fix it. muddle through everyone!

Do you want to get ROCKED???!!!

Right before Phil's "rap" in MLLAM- and some more random pics:

One of Journey:

The end of PSSOM

I am one tired, happy camper. I know you all can tell by the pics just how far away from the stage we actually were. And of course, the requisite giant was right in front of us. But that did not diminish the thrill. It even seemed that since we were as far back as we were, I could take in the "whole show" instead of focusing on just one member at a time ( as is the case up front).
And before I crash for the evening, a video. yes, I know it skips and such, but if you listen very carefully, you'll hear 2 women gladly "helping" the guys out:( on " let's get the rock out of here"!)

One of these days, I really need to read the instruction book on that camera!

But not tonight- I'm beat!
See you all tomorrow!
Peace and Love, KC!

Today is the day!

I've got a few minutes here before I have to get started packing/organizing/etc. I checked out the venue's website, and it seems that their camera policy has changed, and they are allowing digital cameras! ( WOOHOO!) So now I just have to get my teen-ager out of bed, get Kimmie off to Mom's , and head out.
I can't wait! I'll be back sometime tomorrow morning, and will give a full report once I settle back in.

I'm really getting excited here! And just to hold us all over until I have some new ones:

AHH yes! Good times are ahead!

Hope you all have a good Monday- this will be the first one in MONTHS that's I've enjoyed. Gee- wonder why? lol!

Peace and Love, KC!

Why does time go by so fast? Where does it go to? Look at this face:

Isn't it cute? Look at that big smile! I love that smile!

.................................
Okay, enough of the mushy stuff!
In all the excitment of the birthday, and the start of my vacation- I almost forgot to mention- 2 MORE DAYS!! Myself, Becky and Andy will be off to "Get Rocked"! We're all looking forward to it- and Kimmie gets to spend the whole day alone with Nanny- so she's not putting up any fuss. Good way to start a week off- Huh?!

Well, I owe you all a giggle- so here goes:

Bobbitt Family Update
In a recent Channel 4 news broadcast, it was announced that Lorena Bobbitt's
sister Louella was arrested for an alleged attempt to perform the same act on
her husband as her famous sister had done several years ago. Sources reveal
the sister was not as accurate as Lorena. She allegedly missed the target and
stabbed her husband in the upper thigh causing severe muscle and tendon
damage. The husband is reported to be in serious, but stable condition, and
Louella has been charged with;

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . A Misdewiener!
OH, Don't Groan.

Well, That's it for now. I have to get some laundry done, and find the birthday candles I have stashed somewhere!
You all have a great weekend- and I'll be back before we leave for West Palm Beach!

Peace, Love, and Ice Cream cake to all!

BREAKING NEWS

From: Melodicrock.com -

JOURNEY: STEVE AUGERI RETURNS HOME - JEFF SCOTT SOTO FLIES IN:
Steve Augeri has stepped down as lead vocalist for Journey on their current tourand has returned home. This follows recent reports of vocal problems. His last show for this tour was in Raleigh, NC on Tuesday night.
During recent shows he has struggled with his voice and as I understand, he was aware before the show that this would be his last performance of this tour.
Although plagued with problems from the outset of the show, Steve handled himself with dignity and grace and has to be applauded for his contribution to the band and the manner in which he has handled himself.
Jeff Scott Soto, Neal Schon's bandmate in Soul SirkUS has flown in to meet up with the rest of the band and will make his debut Friday night in Bristow, VA.

A statement has been prepared by Journey management:

JOURNEY FORCED TO MAKE LEAD SINGER CHANGE ON NATIONWIDE TOUR

"Jeff Scott Soto to assume JOURNEY lead singer duties starting on July 7th in Bristow, VA due to Steve Augeri throat infection.
Due to a chronic throat infection, Journey's lead singer, Steve Augeri, has been forced to leave the band's current nationwide tour with Def Leppard. Jeff Scott Soto, who has previously performed with Journey guitarist Neal Schon, will assume the band's lead singer duties starting with the July 7th show in Bristow, VA. Steve Augeri's condition will be closely monitored by his physician to determine when he may be able to rejoin the tour.
According to Journey, "Steve's been suffering with an acute throat condition since before we kicked off the tour with Def Leppard. We were hoping he'd be in well condition to handle the rigors of the road but unfortunately it appears to be a chronic condition requiring total voice rest. We all wish Steve a speedy recovery."
For the latest tour dates, please visit www.journeymusic.com."
...................................................................

Well, isn't this interesting.......
I've been following this whole controversy lately. Got sucked in by the posts on the melodic rock forums, and have been searching around to get all the info on this so I could form my own opinions. Why? Not because I've been a fan of Journey ( which I have) or that I live on controversy ( I don't!). But because I'm a major music fan- period! And the thought that a band with the reputation, and longevity of Journey should even *think* to stoop to these nefarious methods gives me the chills. I didn't want to believe that those talented musicians would ever compromise their collective integrities to bow to the alter of the mighty dollar/pound/whatever. But the more I heard and read, the more I realized that this could have been the case. Upset- perhaps. Disappointed- you betcha! At first, the accusations from a poster called "Deeno" were ludicruis to me. And going to his blog ( http://escape-to-tape.blogspot.com/) was interesting. But my listening to his various downloads didn't quite settle it for me. Perhaps because of the hearing loss I have in my right ear, I couldn't "hear" what others could. But when a professional sound man posted on an entirely unrelated site ( over in Europe, I believe) about the very same situation, I was forced to take notice. Now this.
I don't wish Steve A. any ill will, truly I don't. Even though it's the Journey with Steve Perry I've seen and loved in my younger days. I give the guy major marks ( as I have Vivian) for stepping into someone elses very LARGE shoes, and trying their best. And I hope that he rests his voice, and comes back. But I'm just afraid, very afraid that will not be the case. I think that this is the beginning of the end of Journey. And that makes me sad- only because a band of their caliber should go out on top. With dignity, pride and their collective heads held high. Not like this- NEVER like this.

Now, on to the mundane! Work yesterday was a nightmare, made sane only because some stuff has finally- forcefully- been resolved. One of our other Techs ( "J" for now) has been a thorn in our sides lately. She seems to think that anything going on in her life, or her family's life is reason enough to either call out or leave early. "J" has dr's appointments, and rather than make them on her day's off, or arrange them around her schedule- she just comes in ON THE DAY, and says she has to leave early. Which causes us all to scramble around with the schedule. This last week has been the "icing on the cake" so to speak. Her younger sister had a baby Monday evening. She had gone into labor Monday afternoon, and of course we let her leave to take sis to the hospital. But she never showed up for her shift on the 4th ( leaving pharmacist Julie alone ALL DAY!) and only called after the noon hour. Then she proceded to say she would not be in yesterday as well! Now, I know a new baby in the family is cause for celebration. And I know everyone wants to be with and see the new addition to the family. But 3 days off for this? When there are 4 other kids, and dad and granddad in the picture? ( BTW- I should have noted that both mother and child are fine!) "J" claims that the baby is having a hard time feeding- so her sis needs her there. Well, excuse me for my lack of compassion- but any newborn, learning to breast-feed, has a hard time the first week or so. And how is "J" going to help? Hold the er...um... while the baby feeds? It's not like "J" can step in and take over- you know?! So Mr. P. has finally "seen the light" on that score. And she's gonna be scheduled alot less hours in the future ( at least in the Pharmacy!) We're just sick of having to bend everyone's schedule to her life. And since she's doesn't exactly do her "job" while she's there- It's no great loss to us.

Well, I guess I should end this very long, very catty post. I've just had a bad week, and I guess it shows lol! I hope you all are having a better one. I'll try to get back later today, and beat the kids off this thing! I have to get dressed and go out shopping ( yet again!) Becky's birthday- you know!

Have a good one!
Peace and Love, KC!

Happy 4th of July!!!!

Hope you all are having a great day. I've spent it reading, and will probably be going to the local fireworks display this evening.
After having spent entirely toooooo much money at BJ's today ( a Costco, Sam's like club here in town) that's about all I can handle- money wise. The rest of the money on this pay has to go to Becky's birthday, which is Saturday. GOD- she's turning 16?! Where the hell did the time go? I feel old here- bear with me!

Anywho- I don't have any fireworks pics or such to share today. But I thought I'd share what we like to call the local "Big Bottle Rocket". Video taken from the street out in front of my house. Please excuse that it is in 2 parts. I sort-of hit the stop button in the middle ;-)

Now that is one hell of a firecracker!

Be careful with those grills today- I'll catch you all later!
Peace and Love, KC!
