A story for you all

Flashback-1980

I was taking a year off from college. It seemed that all my well-layed plans were going to hell in "that-darned-basket"!!!!! The field of study I had gone into at school proved not to be for me. The guy whose hands I had laid my heart in had proven to be a selfish bastard ( you know the type- you can get a degree, but your gonna be bare-foot and pregnant after that, so why work?- Sorry, M**Fu**'N ASS!) So I spent this year living with the parents, and working as a waiter/bartender at a local restaurant. I was trying to get a grip on my life. Stop the cyclone that had hit onto my well-laid plans, and find my "course" again. One of my co-workers had been up in my face about a friend of his. Seems he thought that he'd be "perfect for me". HARRUMPH! I'd had it with men at this point in my life. I just wanted to get "me" sorted out- didn't need some testosterone messing with my life!

Flash to a Sunday afternoon ( this was back when the restaurant was closed on Sundays). "Bob" had said- "Let's make a day of fun". So over to his appt. I went- and who was there? This guy he'd been telling me about. After talking to Bob ( re: chewing him a new one!) we all went out to bowl, eat, and party. By the end of the night I was intrigued. This guy was soft-spoken, nice, polite, and actually had no problems with the fact that he was "blue-collar" and I was to be a college graduate. He was from a big family, I was an only child. We had a lot against us from the get-go. But some things are meant to be:

On the day of my graduation. No one was prouder of me than Jon. He's like that. He once joked and said he'd like me to keep him in the "style he'd like to become accustomed to" But always with a smile. He didn't mean it- we're a team, he and I. Strong, Quiet, but funny in a sarcastic way. He's my true rock. I've not always been a good wife, but he's always been a good husband. Never wavering, he's been my best friend and my staunchest ally in everything life has thrown at me ( and that's been considerable the last few years!!) I don't think I could have survived the last few years without him. If you think I'm strong- you all should know him!

We've had some good times. And some bad. We've argued, loved and are currently raising 3 wonderful children. ( My mother hasn't always liked him- said he wasn't worthy- but what mother thinks any guy IS??) She's coming over tomorrow evening to stay with the kids. Because Jon and I are spending the day together. We're going over to Orlando- Islands of Adventure at Universal Studios to be exact! We've been married 22 years tomorrow, and we're going on a DATE! We'll ride some rides, and I'm hoping to get us into Emeril's at City-walk. ( Jon's favorite chef!) Since we didn't get our "weekend away", I thought this would be a good alternative.

Since I will be out "partying with the man" tomorrow, I'm posting this tonight. I WILL be taking a camera, and there WILL be pictures here Saturday ( or Sunday- if I'm really wiped out! ;-) )

So here's one to give you a giggle:

Vodka and it's many uses
1. To remove a bandage painlessly, saturate the bandage with vodka.
The solvent dissolves adhesive.

2. To clean the caulking around bathtubs and showers, fill a
trigger-spray bottle with vodka, spray the caulking, let set five
minutes and wash clean. The alcohol in the vodka kills mold and mildew

3. To clean your eyeglasses, simply wipe the lenses with a soft, clean cloth dampened with vodka. The alcohol in the vodka cleans the glass and kills germs.

4. Prolong the life of razors by filling a cup with vodka and letting your safety razor blade soak in the alcohol after shaving. The vodka disinfects the blade and prevents rusting.

5. Spray vodka on vomit stains, scrub with a brush, and then blot dry.

6. Using a cotton ball, apply vodka to your face as an astringent to cleanse the skin and tighten pores.

7 Add a jigger of vodka to a 12-ounce bottle of shampoo. The alcohol cleanses the scalp, removes toxins from hair, and stimulates the growth of healthy hair.

8. Fill a sixteen-ounce trigger-spray bottle and spray bees or wasps to kill them.

9. Pour one-half cup vodka and one-half cup water in a Ziploc freeze bag and freeze for a slushy, refreshable ice pack for aches, pain and black eyes.

10. Fill a clean, used mayonnaise jar with freshly picked lavender
flowers, fill the jar with vodka, seal the lid tightly and set in the sun for three days. Strain liquid through a coffee filter, then apply the tincture to aches and pains.

11. To relieve a fever, use a washcloth to rub vodka on your chest and back as a liniment.

12. To cure foot odor, wash your feet with vodka.

13 Vodka will disinfect and alleviate a jellyfish sting.

14. Pour vodka over an area affected with poison ivy to remove the
urushiol oil from your skin.

15. Swish a shot of vodka over an aching tooth. Allow your gums to absorb some of the alcohol to numb the pain.

And silly me. I've only been drinking the stuff!!!

Have a great Friday Y'all! I'll be back with pictures to share this weekend!

The good news is......

Ernesto is a WIMP!

The bad news is: I have to go to work :(

Oh well, last day before vacation.

See you all tomorrow :-)

Tuesday, August 29, 2006

Well, here I sit...

Waiting for whatever! I don't think "Ernesto" is going to be anything major, but just in case- we spent a good hour bringing in all our "loose stuff" from outside. My fairies and figurines that dot my gardens, bird feeders and baths, and all the other stuff that *may* turn into projectiles should the winds pick up. I don't think that it will get THAT bad, and we're not boarding up the windows. The big question is whether or not I'm going to work tomorrow. I'm due in at 11am, which is right about the time that the winds are supposed to hit. If they do- Jon doesn't want me driving in them, let alone trying to get home in that mess. But the store will be open, and I'm expected to be there......

This all comes from another "tropical storm" that went through here some years ago. It wasn't bad wind-wise. But because of the amount of rain, I was stranded at the store for 12 HOURS! Couldn't get home because all the roads were flooded. Jon doesn't want that to happen again, so there in lies the problem. So I told them at work that it would have to be a "wait-and-see" sort of situation. Not to mention, the schools are all closed tomorrow ( understandably!) and I don't want to leave the kids alone with all this weather coming through. ( Jon is supposed to go into work, but he may come home early).

Anyway- just thought you all would want to know what's up! Now I wished I'd started my vacation a day earlier. At least then, I wouldn't be sitting here wondering if I should or shouldn't...
PFFFFFT!

Peace and Love, KC!

P.S.- Those with my cell- If I loose power, you'll get a message from me!

Here we go again!!!! :(

Just when you thought you were safe- AKA- How the winds doth shift!!

Apparently, we're looking to get Ernesto by the end of the week. They are already telling people to leave the Keys, they've closed the Everglades Nat'l park, and talking about rolling back the shuttle to the VAB.
Shit- and guess when my vacation starts- YUP! Thursday! Well, as it stands now, it will pass far enough north of me that I don't think we'll have to "board-up". But it's already shifted from going straight up the gulf to a big turn to the east. So Mother Nature only knows where this darn thing will actually land/turn. And to think I was saying to Jon only a day or so ago that I hoped it didn't hit NOLA, that's they'd seen enough for a few years!

Be careful what you wish for- right?
Only good thing is- at least I didn't book that mini-trip to St. Augustine this coming weekend! Or Tampa Bay! So my "6th sense" must have been working.
I'd better get back to my laundry. I may not have any power by the end of the week to do it then. *SIGH*!

Peace, Love and clear skies to all!
KC

Update, Monday evening
Well, the darn thing is not going away. As a matter of fact, it seems to want to come straight for us! At least by the time it gets through south Fla to where I am, it should be just a tropical storm. It all depends on how long it hangs out in the waters between Cuba and Miami.
Jon has already said that he will NOT let me go to work in a Tropical storm, but I don't know how well they'll take that at work. Here's hoping it's either strong enough to warrent me calling in- or mild enough not to care!
Either way, I'll be here tomorrow night. Keep your fingers crossed for all of us down here. Couldn't hurt- you know ;-)

Peace, KC!

Nice end to a Boring Week!

First, a very special birthday:

Happy Birthday, Vivian Campbell. A great guitarist, with a wonderful smile, and a great last name ( just had to say that!)
Have a great time rockin' tonight- I'm sure the guys will make it special for you ;-)

I've been on here alot this week, just trying to unwind from the stress ( see next paragraph!) But I've been spending a bit of time reading the forums over at Melodicrock.com. The Journey forum there has some really interesting charactors! I've also been on the DL forum, although not as busy as Journey's. ( Rhonda & I have beeen defending our guys there!) Check them out- some of those people are WAAAYY to involved- but it's a cheap thrill!

Aside from the normal stuff, this week has been basically crap. "D" and I were both together alone Tues. night and Weds. Tuesday wasn't bad ( we're not really busy after about 7pm.) But Weds. was a total clusterf*ck! We both opened ( after closing the night before- RE: tired as all crap!) only to find out that the other tech due in that morning had called out sick . Which is fine- I mean, she was really sick! But that meant that "D" and I had to work alone- just the 2 of us- until 2 PM!!!!!! No break, no help- NADA! And with her penchant for staying in her little "space", I had to type, handle the registers, fill, deal with the problems- ALL BY MYSELF! I mean, god forbid she should help out typing or ringing up the customers!! She's "above that" you know. HRUMPF! I was so tired and pissed by the time I left weds., I came home and literally fell asleep withing 10 minutes of sitting down! One more day like that and I think there's going to be a "come-to-god" talk with my superiors! I got the heck out of management so I didn't have to "kill myself" at work. Wednesday was proof that something is really, really wrong there!!!!!

Ok, off my rant now- I just had to let that out! Well, it's Friday now ( thank goodness!) and I have my normal giggle to impart to you all: This one is from our "own" Hippy Chick!

Subject: the wedding night...

Mike was going to be married to Karen, so his father sat him down for a little chat. He said, "Mike, let me tell you something.
On my wedding night in our honeymoon suite I took off my pants, handed them to your mother and said, 'Here try these on
She did and said, 'These are too big! I can't wear them.'
I replied, 'Exactly. I wear the pants in this family and I always
will! Ever since that night we have never had any problems.
"Hmmm," said Mike. He thought that might be a good thing to try.

On his honeymoon, Mike took off his pants and said to Karen, "Here try these on. "She tried them on and said, "These are too large. They don't fit me." Mike said, "Exactly. I wear the pants in this family and I always will. I don't want you to ever forget that."

Then, Karen took off her pants and handed them to Mike.
She said, "Here you try on mine." He did and said, "I can't get into your pants." Karen said, "Exactly. And if you don't change your smart ass attitude, you never will."

Me here- Gotta love that Woman!!
......................................

One more- From a friend at work!

Cough Syrup

The owner of this drug store walks in to find a guy leaning heavily against a wall. The owner asks the clerk "What's with that guy over there
by the wall?" and the clerk says "Well, he came in here this morning to get something for his cough. I couldn't find the cough syrup, so I
gave him an entire bottle of laxative." The owner says "You idiot! You can't treat a cough with a bottle of laxatives!" The clerk says "Of course you can!
Look at him; he's afraid to cough!"
.........................................

Have a great weekend. I'll be here! Hopefully I'll get a chance to post sometime this weekend!

Peace and Love, KC!

Just some pictures

The Birthday Boy ( and girl!)

That's his sister Janet right behind/beside him

This house was just made for a big party!

Just some sunset ( this is taken facing the intercoastal waterway, which we call the river- facing east mind!)

Can you imagine looking at that every evening?? WOW!
We had a good time, and caught up with some old friends. I have to say though that a one point, I really felt like there were TOO many people there. It just seemed crowded, and less like a "family/friends type gathering. Could be because I didn't know about half the people there. Alot were friends of the BIL's due to his business. But we had a good time anyway!

Other than that, and the usual weekend cleaning crap, not much to say here. And I'd better get off this thing, and get my arse ready for work. Though we don't have to "dress" for work, I do believe PJ's are inappropriate in the dress codes ;-)!

Have a great monday all!

Just a quick post

Since we've got a thunderstorm going right now that has taken out my cable/power twice in about 10 minutes. But I can't let the day go by without wishing my Hubby:

Happy Birthday Jon, I love you!!!!!!!

I'll try and get back here and add some pictures from the party yesterday. But right now- I think I'd better get off of this thing. Not good to be playing here when Mother Nature is having one of her temper-tantrums!

Early Work Day

and so- I'll just give you this, and wish you all a Happy Friday!
I'll be around all weekend, and try to get some posting done tonight/tomorrow. Big birthday bash tomorrow ( Jon and his twin sister, the one on the river btw!) So I should have some funny stories to report!
Picked this one because of a picture on Rhonda's blog:
.........................................

A monkey is sitting in a tree smoking a joint, when a lizard walks past,
looks up, and says to the monkey "Hey, what're you doing?"

The monkey replies, "Smokin' a joint, come up and have some."

So the lizard climbs up the tree, sits next to the monkey, and they
smoke a few joints.

After a while the lizard says his mouth is 'dry' and he's going to
the river to get a drink.
The lizard climbs down the tree and staggers over to the river to get a
drink of water, but he is so stoned, he leans over too far and falls
into the river.

A crocodile sees this, swims over to the lizard and helps him to the
side. Then he asks the lizard, "What's the matter with you?"

The lizard explains to the crocodile that he was sitting up in a tree
with a monkey smoking pot, got too stoned and then fell into the river
while taking a drink.

The crocodile says he has to check this out, and wanders off into the
jungle. He finds the tree where the monkey is sitting finishing up a
joint.

The crocodile yells up to the monkey and says "Hey!"

The monkey looks down and says,

"Fuuuuuuuuuuuck........Dude! How much water did you drink?!"
......................................

Should we try it Rhonda? lol!

Have a great day all!
Peace and Love, KC!

Busy little bee!

I've done a little work here and there since yesterday. Managed to fix most of my side-bar links, and added/deleted a few things. I keep playing with it until I get it all sorted out.

I've also been working on this house. You know, those chores that are always on the list- that never seem to get done? Case in point: about a year ago, we went out and bought a new couch. Which is great, but the old couch ( which is a big sleeper-sofa) only managed to make it as far as the back porch. It's been sitting out there since then, and it's just too darn heavy for us to move. So today I have someone coming over to take it ( along with some other stuff) away. They're called 1-800-Got-Junk, and they'll come by your house and take anything away. It's gonna cost me some money ( around $100) but darn it- that stupid couch is taking up 3/4 of my back porch. And it's just an eye-sore anymore anyway! And since I've tried 3 ways from Sunday to get Jon involved in moving the darn thing ( which he's avoided like the plague!) I just decided to take the matter into my own hands. Waste Management might have taken it- but we would have had to get the darn thing down to the curb first- which is the main problem! I'll be glad to get my porch back though!

I also found out that my cable company can Wi-Fi my house for me, and for considerably LESS than the "Geeks" can! WOO HOO! Since I have to get them here to hook up Andy's TV to cable anyway- I'll just do the whole mess at once. Jon was complaining about the monthly fee ( Said we wouldn't have to pay that if the geeks came, or we did it ourselves). But I explained to him that if Brighthouse did it they would have to fix any problems FOR FREE! That changed his mind around ;-). And any of the equipment they use to Wi-Fi the computers is ours to keep. So they will make this computer wireless for us in the process. I'm totally on board with that!

On another front- Kimmie has had her first taste of "real school"! She's in first grade now, and as such has homework almost every night. This is not setting well with our little "princess". Nope, she is not happy about this at all! So we're having the nightly "homework blues" around here! The two oldest have no problems with doing their's, but Kimmie is just hell-bent on finding any excuse not to comply. Any suggestions ( aside from bribery-which believe me- I thought of!) would be appreciated.

Well, I've got to go out and make sure there's a clear path to the couch. And check in with you all. And perhaps get some more crap out of the way here. Hope your week is going smoothly!

Catch you all later!
Peace and Love, KC!

Better days

At least, I'm gonna make it to work ;-)
Jeez, I don't know what hit me, but I'm glad it's over! I feel like someone beat me with a baseball bat. The muscles in my back, ribs and legs are sore as hell, but I'll live.

I'm sure I'll get some crap from "D" about calling out yesterday, but I could not have made it in. Heck, Becky was the one to call me in sick, since I could not lift myself off the bathroom floor/camode to get the phone! Let her stew on that if she wants!

I've been spending some time surfing the web looking for computers. And while I'd really like a Mac or a Sony ( former- well, mostly lap-tops looked good, the latter- WAAAY TO PRICY!!!) - it looks like we'll probably be getting another HP. The local Best Buy has a good one on sale. And that with my Reward's card, and their in-store service ( which we all know has saved my arse this past year!) makes it a good deal all around. We'll then have to have the debate as to which computer goes in the living room for the kids, and which is the "main" computer in the bedroom. I'm gonna vote that the new one gets put in here. Even though this one is not "Wi-Fi" equiped, I think the kids ( especially Kimmie!) Should get the older pc. I mean, I don't want the "good" computer to be abused right off the bat!

Another thing I've got to research is this whole "Wi-Fi" thingy for my house. I know I said before that I would get the "Geeks" to come hook us up, but Jon is not so keen on spending the monies. So I'm gonna do some reading up and see if I can do it myself. Don't worry- I won't let try to do it on his own lol! If anyone knows how this is done, please e-mail me with instructions. Or at least lead me to a site that explains it. I don't know too many "tech-savy" people that I could ask to give a hand around here. Lately, I'm the one that gets asked all the "techy" questions! ( Scary- I know!!!) But any help you all could give would be greatly appreciated! ( I've also got to check with my cable service- perhaps they'd help out??)

Well, I've got to get myself cleaned up and out the door. I'm off the next 2 days since Jon has to go out of town for some seminars. I'll try to work on this blog while I'm home. I've really neglected my sidebar horribly these last months. Which is understandable, since I did most of that stuff while I was home on disability, and had all the time in the world! Yup, I think this thing is DEFinately in need of some "cleaning up!" I'll be around, if you want to chat! Until then....

Peace and Love, KC!

Lousy Monday

So, I worked yesterday and when I got home I felt fine. Well, my stomach wasn't perfect, but I thought it was just that I was hungry. Went and got a drink and sit down to relax. About 3 sips later, my stomach went nuts! Spent the rest of last night running at both ends ( I'm still running, just not as bad!) And finally went to sleep around 4am. Needless to say, I'm not going into work this morning. Hell, Jon TOLD me not to. Which he never does. And Becky has stayed home, to help me clean up the messes caused ( my laundry, and the kitchen that I could not clean up last night. Heck just because I couldn't eat- didn't mean my family didn't!)

I'm gonna spend most of today trying to rest. Jon seems to think that the lunch meat I made my sandwich with yesterday was the cause, but I'm not so sure. My throat is really sore, and it feels like my tonsils ( yes, I still have the darn things) are a bit swollen. Would be my luck to get that sick, just when things were going along nicely. But I just wanted to let you all know I hadn't forgotten about you. Oh, and Kim? I saw that date in Fresno- It was the first smile I had on my face since yesterday! I expect a call G/F!! ;-) Maybe I can dream of them coming back down here. But I figure Canada needs them more. And the UK.

So I'm off to hopefully sleep away this... whatever.
Hope y'all's week is starting off better.... :-)
Peace and Love, KC!

Listen.......

Hear that? That's the sound of silence. School has started, and here I sit in a clean, quiet house- YEE HAW!!!!
( Sorry- had to get that out of my system!)

Well as you know, I had to send this computer to the Geek Squad for "repairs" again. I/they thought that the hard drive had gone bad. Well, I got a call yesterday morning telling me it was ready for pick-up?! Wow I thought, that was a quick fix! Little did I know that there was NOTHING wrong with this thing. Apparently, Jon had put a floppy disk in, which caused the system to stop working? I had no idea about this ( Hell, I didn't even know we HAD any floppy's around anymore- we use CD's to back everything up!) And that even had the Geek's stumped. When I went there last night, they all gathered around to tell me ( while chuckling profusely!)how it took them 3 hours, and tearing this thing apart, before they figured out it was the darn floppy! I told them I felt like a fool, and the one guy said "Well, think how WE feel?! We're the ones that are supposed to know all about this stuff! You are now a member of the 'stump the geeks' club!" But at least they said, I now know that everything on this computer is running perfectly. They even ran full diagnostics on every part, and scanned thoroughly for any virus/adware/spyware/trojans that may have been on here. And was complemented for the fact that my system was "well taken care of". They were very nice about it actually. But we're still going to get another computer. I'm sick to death of worrying about this thing going down. Now we just have to figure out how to "wi-fi" two computers. We may just have the "geek's" come over to do that for us. It's a little pricey ($159) but at least we'll know it's done right, and securely.

Other than that, life goes on here. "D" is on vacation, which would normally afford us a little relaxation. But the "subs" that have been in are causing some problems. And yesterday, one of the other techs called out. Which meant is was just me and the Pharmacist alone until 1 pm! So my feet were screaming by the time I got home. Normally, I'd just sit and rest, but with school starting today- I had so much to get done last night. Sorting all the supplies to the appropriate back-pack ( which I left because I know Kimmie would not have been able to leave it alone if I'd done it earlier!). So this morning, I'm just going to surf and relax. I work the closing shift tonight ( with our regular Pharmacist Julie!!) and then "off" tomorrow. I put that in quotes because I have to take my car down to the dealership. Seems one of my "new" tires has a slow leak in it *sigh*. Then I have a lunch "date" with Devon. She's in town for the week, and we've yet to catch up since the DL concert. Should be a good time!

So I'm off to catch up! One thing from you all- Since we ARE going to get a new computer, I'm leaning towards an HP. It's what this one is, and it's what I know. But if any of you have any suggestions to the contrary, let me know ;-). I asked the "Geeks" which ones they thought were the best, and they said all of them were pretty equal in reliability these days. Only in "lap-tops" did they see any difference. And there they'd all go with Sonys. So any advice.............

Have a great "hump day" all!
Peace and Love, KC!

P.S.- OOOOHHHH I almost forgot- if you use "google" as your seach engine/opening page, go here: http://awesomestart.com/defleppard/
I had people on the forum voting, and we got it! And fast according to Becky. She said it usually takes MONTHS for them to get a new one up! Looks pretty cool too!
Peace- OUT! KC

Oh CRAP!

Once again, I'm typing to you from the POS computer tower. Seems my other regular one is on the fritz again. The Geek Squad says it's the flippin' hard drive this time!!!???
Which means I'm sort-of stuck again. And will probably loose all my stuff yet again!

But we've made a decision. Come next week, when Jon gets his paycheck- we're buying a new one. Originally, we were going to buy a cheapy one for the kids to use in the livingroom, and the regular in the bedroom ( and wi-fi them together) But now, with the "good one" falling apart, We're going to plan B. Which is to buy a really good one for here, and use the fixed one in the livingroom. I'm just sick and tired of having to replace all my "major" stuff. And the one in the shop is almost 3 years old, so it's probably time for a replacement one anyway. Especially as hard as we've used it in recent years. Hell, I don't think the darn thing has had a day's break in 3 years!
So if I'm not around as much, you all know why. At least this time- I'm caught up/ahead on all my bills. One worry I don't have to deal with!

Small comfort- but I'll take it!

Take care of yourselves while I'm working this mess out!
Peace and Love, KC!

Lets see if we can get back on track here!

Since it has been a few Fridays since I've posted funnies. I just haven't had any energy/time/funnies! But Jude, and various friends have sent a few, so I can resume this again! But that doesn't let any of you off the hook. I said I have A FEW- but only a few. Before the computer crashed- I had about 30 stock-piled!! So if you get any good ones, pass them on. I'm also missing a few e-mail addy's, but I think I have them "hard-copied" somewhere. I just have to find out where!!

Becky's registration went much easier this year. They gave her all the classes she'd requested. I guess that since she's a Junior this year, she's got a better chance. Seniors first, Juniors second, that sort of deal. But I look at her schedule and cringe. Chemistry, Algebra II, Economics- Jeez, did I do those too? And all in the same year? OUCH! At least Jon can help with the Math/Science stuff- I'm worthless with that! Economics I can handle, along with her Language arts class. She's going to have to do a lot of creative writing this year, which is something I've never had a problem with. I just hope she applies herself this year, but I think she's realized that she has to if she wants to get anywhere in this life.

This weekend is shaping up to be a big dud, since my B & SIL will be out of town. So I'm going to get some more projects done around here. That is, if I can motivate myself. This heat is just too much, and my garden is beginning to look like a weed-fest. I tried one day to go out realllllly early ( like around 7am) and I still started sweating buckets within 5 minutes. Jon really doesn't want me out there anyway- he's afraid I'd get heat-stroke, since I'm not really used to the heat as he is. And even he's been coming home absolutely wiped-out most days. "D" has commented on how slow we are in the afternoons, and I told her most of the customers we usually get that time of day are the retirees, and they just don't want to go out in this heat!
So anyway, I'll be around this weekend. Give me a shout if you want. Meantime, on to that time honored tradition...........

Manna from, well, somewhere?

We're getting ready to head down to Becky's HS to get her registered. Then we're gonna do a "girls shopping" thing after. Since the younger 2 are already with Mom, it's just us today. Which is nice. Anywho- I asked Becky if she's checked the mail yesterday- Nope! So I went to the mailbox and behold! 2 packages in there! Now, it's not my birthday, anniversary, mom's day or anything. But after looking at the return addy on one, I figured out that the "prodical" T-shirt had finally arrived:

Only took them what?- 2 & 1/2 months? Oh well, at least they're getting it together.
But the other package? From my roomie Janine had me stumped. Like I said, no special occasion to pin this on. So I opened it:

Another shirt- and appropriate as all heck! I even had planned on getting this saying on a plaque, and giving it to HER for X-Mas.
Now that's scary! She and I used to be able to finish each other's thoughts back in the day. Hell, the night I called her to tell her that I was getting married, I picked up the phone to dial- and she was ALREADY ON THE LINE!! Calling me- you guessed it!- to tell me SHE was getting married! Little things like that always happen with us. We are so different in so may ways, but so in tune with each other it defies logic! I've always called her my better half, and I still believe that to be true. I'd like to think I "loosened" her up a bit. God knows, she kept me from doing some really stupid things! She was/is one of the few people I'd throw myself in front of a train for. Just that simple.

OMG!

Julie had it right. The end of the world is close at hand. I could swear I saw 4 horses grazing in the backyard last night ;-). You see, I was talking last night to my hubby- saying how Andy had broken his cell phone. And I was going down on my day off this week to replace it ( it's insured, so no biggie!). Now, Y'All know my hubby- Mr. I-can't-run-the-VCR, Don't know about anything tech, "System Recovery"-is-my-friend hubby? He wants a CELL PHONE??!! "And I want a flip-phone please"??? Scary folks! Truly scary. So I'll get him one. I just hope I don't have to spend hours teaching him how to use it *sigh*.

Other than that, and the fact that I'm due into work in an hour, I just have one other thing to say today:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the best lead singer in Rock!

May you have a very relaxing day at home today. And may you have at least 50 more days like today. ROCK ON, JOE!

Now I have to put this body together, and get my arse to work. I heard yesterday that "D" has next week off. Now I have 2 things to celebrate next week. Her gone, and the Kiddies back at school. How will I stand it? :-P

Peace and Love, KC!
