Hey!

Still here, still working too hard, and sleeping when I can! But at least I'm getting some stuff done. All I have left is the X-Mas cards. Oh, and the shopping of course! But I don't mind that so much, and Becky wants to help me this year. At least, with the gifts for her dad and her siblings. She's getting the whole "better to give than receive" thing. She's getting as much a kick out of watching the faces of the others, as she is about opening her own presents. She's the one to yell- "slow down!" more often than not Christmas morning, which is fine by me! Oh- speaking of Christmas;

Our new tree. I just have to find a new skirt that I like. the old one went out with the old tree- the darn thing was WAAAYYY old!( I think my family had that thing when I WAS a kid- talk about ancient history lol!) Notice the requisite "bored teenager" to the right!

Work is work, as usual. I can't quite get "G" yet. He's sometimes easy to get along with, and then some days I just want to rip his head off. Oh well, at least we aren't getting the customer complaints we did when "D" was there!( although, yesterday I swear everyone took their "pissy" pills!) I just hope there are more good days than bad. And the time of year has a lot to do with it as well. We've all been sick, and the increased business ( ah, the Holidays! The very worst time to work in retail!!!!!) is not helping any one's demeanor!

Well, I work the early shift tomorrow, so I will try to get on here early to post our usual Friday fare. If you don't see it by 8:30am est- check back in the evening. I WILL get it up by then ;-).

Until tomorrow!
Peace, KC!

Well, sorry I haven't been here..

But life- Ya know? I just have so many things to get done around here, and such. But I thought I'd leave you all a little video. Shot by Becky on Thanksgiving:

First part is Andy and Kimmie in my BIL's kitchen/family room. Sometime after dinner from what I can see . Then she comes out to the porch with the camera, and while you can't see anything- you can hear some of us. ( I'm the one who tell's people she's recording, and I'll put it up here- yada, yada. And my rather pathetic laugh at the end.)

Enjoy!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm feeling better- which is reason enough to give thanks- believe me! We're sitting around the house right now, watching the parade from NYC. We will be going to "River BIL's" house today for dinner, and knowing him there will be too much of everything. So I'll just leave you all with a few goodies:
A couple of reason to give thanks-

They've won back a old fan in me- sorry!

Oh YEAH- My "first" love, and all the memories I have of this last tour. I only hope that these guys take a break next year. Why? Cause my finances could use the break- if nothing else!

And a little chuckle this morning ( as I'm not sure I'll have the chance tomorrow- everyone is home, and I have to work :( )
..........................................

A young man named John received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a
bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the
bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity

John tried and tried to change the birds' attitude by consistently
saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he
could think of to "clean up" the bird's vocabulary.

Finally, John was fed up and he yelled at the parrot. The parrot
yelled back. John shook the parrott and the parrot got angrier and
even ruder. John, in desperation, threw up his hands, grabbed the
bird and put him in the freezer, for a few minutes the parrot squawked
and kicked and screamed

Then suddenly there was a total quiet, not a peep was heard for over a
minute. Fearing that he'd hurt the parrot, John Quickly opened the
door to the freezer

The parrot calmly stepped out onto John's outstretched arms and said
"I beleive I may have offended you with my rude language and actions.
I'm sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I
fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and
unforgiveable behavior" John was stunned at the change in the bird's
attitude. As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a
dramatic change in his behavior, the bird continued,

"May I ask what the turkey did?"
........................

Many thanks, for all your friendships. The laughs, the tears, and the shared memories that keep at least this one lady's spirit up even during the darkest of days.
May your day bring you good food, great big smiles, laughs and harmony. I will raise a glass to all of you today.

Peace, Love, and a nice big drumstick to all!

Someone please tell me...

Who put the blow-torch down my throat last night? Or who shoved an entire king sized pillow up my nose?

I have some more pictures to share, but until someone warms this place up ( I'm sitting here with jeans, heavy sweatshirt, socks shoes- and shivering!) I'm afraid it's very hard to type and use the mouse.

I thought I'd shook this darn bug- but apparently he snuck up on me last night and dug in! My only consolation- not going to work tonight. Hell, when I called in this morning, even the manager heard my voice and said "stay away Karen"! ( I think my voice is 2 octives lower, and sounds like sandpaper!)

I just hope the rest of the family doesn't get this- 3 days before Thanksgiving!!
Right now- I'm giving thanks to Sudafed and Puffs Plus! ;-)

Until later-

Happy Friday!

And I'm off to work soon. So I thought I'd better get these up here. I also have a "store meeting" tomorrow morning- At 7 AM! On my only day off ( I work Sunday lol!) Which means no rest for the wicked! Well, so much for me- on to the good looking ones:

THP- Drool #1

JTE- Drool #2!

More good looking men for the "drool-factor"!!

And a video- Hell, it didn't turn out as good as I had hoped. I don't understand why the sound is so "shakey". I held that darn camera as still as I possibly could. I hardly took a breath the whole time! But at least you can see the guys in action!

If anyone knows what I'm doing wrong on these videos- please let me know!!!

Well, it's Friday- so I guess you all need a chuckle to start off the weekend properly:

The Curtain Rods
AKA- Don't piss off a woman!

She spent the first day packing her belongings into boxes, crates and suitcases.
On the second day, she had the movers come and collect her things.
On the third day, she sat down for the last time at their beautiful dining room table by candlelight, put on some soft background music, and feasted on a pound of shrimp, a jar of caviar, and a bottle of Chardonnay.

When she had finished, she went into each and every room and deposited a few half-eaten shrimp shells, dipped in caviar, into the hollow of the curtain rods.

She then cleaned up the kitchen and left.

When the husband returned with his new girlfriend, all was bliss for the first few days. Then slowly, the house began to smell. They tried everything; cleaning and mopping and airing the place out.

Vents were checked for dead rodents, and carpets were steam cleaned. Air fresheners were hung everywhere.

Exterminators were brought in to set off gas canisters, during which they had to move out for a few days, and in the end they even paid to replace the expensive wool carpeting.

Nothing worked. People stopped coming over to visit...Repairmen refused to work in the house...The maid quit...

Finally, they could not take the stench any longer and decided to move.

A month later, even though they had cut their price in half, they could not find a buyer for their stinky house. Word got out, and eventually, even the local Realtors refused to return their calls.

Finally, they had to borrow a huge sum of money from the bank to purchase a new place.

The ex-wife called the man, and asked how things were going. He told her the saga of the rotting house.
She listened politely, and said that she missed her old home terribly, and would be willing to reduce her divorce settlement in exchange for getting the house back...

Knowing his ex-wife had no idea how bad the smell was, he agreed on price that was about 1/10th of what the house had been worth...But only if she were to sign the papers that very day. She agreed, and within the hour, his lawyers delivered the paperwork.

A week later, the man and his new girlfriend stood smirking as they watched the moving company pack everything to take to their new home......including the curtain rods.

I LOVE A HAPPY ENDING, DON'T YOU??
.....................................

Hope you all have a great weekend
I'll get back here as soon as I can ;-)

Ok, everyone

Get out your drool bibs, and get your boyfriends/hubbies/sig. others out of the room. Because you're not gonna want to be distracted here....

Phil- do you even own a shirt ;-) J/K folks!

Hey Joe, what DID you step in? ( hehehehe)

Yes, we are screaming as loud as possible Joe!

Just like the color on this one!

Now is the time; Pause here, and just DROOL! ( don't worry, I'll wait here for you)...

Ok, you cleaned up now ;-)
Good!
I was reading Gordons post this morning- that goodness he didn't seem to think we were a bunch of crazy idiots. Although I don't remember any of us "lusting" over the guys. We mostly just talked about music- in general, and Journey and DL specifically. He really is a funny guy though- but not *quite* that funny in person. What I mean by that is that he is not so "bawdy" when he's speaking. I guess that could have been because there were "ladies" present. And I have to take him to task on the men/women ratio as well. Yes, there were more ladies present, but only slightly more. Actually, if I remember correctly- 5 men and 8 women. Which is not THAT much of a difference. He made is sound as if it were virtually ALL women. Which I'm sure he wouldn't have minded, but that was simply not the case!

His take on the concert was right on though. And I have to post on the site, and thank him for the "dressing room" sign that he passed me after the show. He came out while Rick was signing, saying " I don't see anyone I know here- Oh there you are!" and came over to Kat and I. She got a copy of the night's schedule ( I believe) and I got the sign. Which is now up on my closet door. I thought that was a good place for it- until I get my tour book out to put the tickets and stuff in. It will go in there for remembrance sake!

Well, I'm off to "catch up" with everything online. I have been working/sleeping for the last few days. I *think* I've beaten back whatever was trying to infect me, but I've fallen behind on all the stuff around here in the process. So- as the sink is full of dishes ( WHY is it I'm the only one who can put things in the dishwasher?????), and a pile of towels await- I'll be back here tomorrow with a few more pics.

Take care of yourselves!

WEll, you know-

I was going to give each band member their own day- kind of like others have done. But it came to my attention while going through my pictures, that I don't have as many pics of say- Phil and Rick A. as I'd like. And most of those are either in the "group" shots, or the after-the-show-signing at the buses. So instead I'm just going to post them as I see fit.

And sorry about the lack of posts this weekend, I was battling a "bug" for most of it, and couldn't get up the energy to do much more than my usual "Mommy" chores. So having said that...........:

"That guy" lol!

Union Rules
A dedicated Teamsters union worker was attending a convention in Las Vegas and decided to check out the local brothels. When he got to the first one, he asked the Madam, "Is this a union house?" "No," she replied, "I'm sorry it isn't." "Well, if I pay you $100, what cut do the girls get?" "The house gets $80 and the girls get $20," she answered Offended at such unfair dealings, the union man stomped off down the street in search of a more equitable, hopefully unionized shop.

His search continued until finally he reached a brothel where the Madam responded, "Why yes sir, this is a union house. We observe all union rules."

The man asked, "And if I pay you $100, what cut do the girls get?" "The girls get $80 and the house gets $20." "That's more like it!" the union man said. He handed the Madam $100, looked around the room, and pointed to a stunningly attractive blonde.

"I'd like her," he said. "I'm sure you would, sir," said the Madam.

Then she gestured to a 92-year old woman in the corner, "but Ethel here has 67 years seniority and according to union rules, she's next.

Now, where was I

Oh YEAH- The concert! Anywho, when we got to the venue one of the first things we did was "scope out" the bus area. Had to figure out where we needed to be after the show!

Next was finding that favorite DJ of mine ;-). Chris wouldn't miss a show like this- nor would WHTQ! He was there as were a couple of his fellow DJ's. I pity the poor person that had to "hold down the fort" while the rest of them were at the show! It was great to see him again, even if I didn't get the chance to buy him that beer I owe him ( one of these days Chris!)

So let's get right down to what you all want- PICTURES! First, Journey:

Neal Schon- the guitar god of the the band!

Jeff Scott "I'm too hot for words" Soto! aka- THP!

I'm sorry, but I have to admit that I've been an on/off Journey fan for years. On during Steve Perry's reign, off during Steve A's tenure. Why? Well, let's just say that having seen SA once, I was reminded of some of those "lounge" singers that we've all heard/seen/read about. He just didn't do it for me. It really doesn't have anything to do with looks- he's nice enough looking. But his voice didn't have the.. "UMPF"- for lack of a better word- that Perry's did. And so I drifted away from the band. Content with my CD's of past glories, and no hope for the future. Then came "tapegate", and the appearance of one JSS. I had read about him on Melodicrock.com, and had heard that he had/has a great voice. But "front" Journey? Well, if July in West Palm Beach was not enough to peak my interest ( and it was!) the Orlando show has sold me! Jeff is just what the Dr. ordered! Jon Cain came out from behind his keyboards, SMILING!?! Haven't seen that since the "Raised on Radio" tour! Hell, they ALL were smiling- and with good reason. I hope to hell they keep him- he's exactly what makes a good "front" guy- Voice, heart, soul. Even Hubby- ever the jaded soul- said he really enjoyed the Journey part of the show. High praise from him!

next entry- DA LEPS!

( I know, I know! I'm such a tease! ;-) )

It took me most of the morning to crop, edit, credit and upload the lot of them- and I'm still not done! But until I am, and have time to compose what I want to say next- I'll just leave you with a few choice tidbits:

WOW!

That's all I can say about last night's show!( A little background, if you will indulge me...)

Jon and I got to the hotel about 3 pm. It's very nice ( even if it's in a less than stellar neighborhood). Got our room, then decided to take a walk over to the TD Waterhouse. ( He just wanted the walk, I wanted to check for the buses!) I had left my purse with phone up in the room. Saw the buses, but not much else and came back. As we came up to the front doors, I noticed 2 buses parked outside. No, can't be, can it? YUP! Journey had apparently spent the night there, and as we walked into the lobby, who's standing there but Jeff Scott Soto himself!! Of course, with no camera and no purse- the best I could do was say hello and wish him a great show. He also had his family with him, so I decided not to try and bug him too much.

We went back up to the room, where I found no less that 5 missed calls on my phone! Yes, the pre-party had already started, without little 'ol me! SO I conned Hubby into going down early. I walked up to the table, said hello to everyone, and found a place to sit right next to this guy that I'd never met before. I asked him his name- he said "Gordon". Now, slow I may be- but after hearing him talk a bit ( that accent is unmistakeable!) I realized that it was "THE Gordan"! That's right! He of the Tour Diaries, and good friend to the band. When asked why he was there, he said he was tired of talking to them, and wanted to meet some of us!

( I forgot a few names- but 2nd from left- Scar, Sha, Gordon, Me, Kat, her son, Hubby, India- I don't remember the 1st lady's name with the Yeah shirt- Sorry! And I know it's blurry, but the waitress took it! )
We all talked for about an hour, and after he left I found out that he's doing another of his entries for the website. Apparently, the "powers-that-be" that changed everything around last spring have FINALLY figured out that the website/fan-club etc. were much better off before the switch. He answered some questions we had, though of course some of them rather cryptically-
1- Yes, the band know about all the problems with the fan club. They are working on getting that changed. ( he implied that Mark would probably have more of a hand in the site and such, but he wasn't definitive on that)
2- Yes, they do know about all the stuff/problems at the shows. Not minor ones mind- but if say security behaves badly at a certain venue, they will try very hard to either not play there again, or make sure that security is "taken well in hand" the next time they're there.

It was after he left that I found out about the diary he was working on. And according to the others that got there before me- we're lible to be mentioned in it- ACK! God- I hope I didn't say anything stupid!

Off to the show. I'll go into details tomorrow ( as I have to get ready to work here in a minute!) But both Journey and DL rocked the 'house! I got a reprieve after the Journey set- Hubby actually offered to be my "photographer" for the evening. That way- I could just enjoy the show, and he took the pictures! And afterwards, we went back to the bus area- where after an hour- Phil and Rick A. came out to sign stuff. I didn't get a "proper" picture with either of them ( it was just too crowded where we were) but Hubby got some shots of them signing my "Slang" cd booklet. And Gordon came out there and gave me the "Def Leppard Dressing room" sign from the venue! ( Thank you Gordon!)

Well, I have to get ready for work ( and I am sooooo tired!) But I will be back here tomorrow with more pictures ( some of them came out really good- maybe I should have Hubby take all my concert shots! ) I have to say, that Hubby really redeemed himself this time. He was the sole of patience, through both the pre-show gathering and after the show as we sat around in the cold ( Hey- 60 degrees down here IS cold- expecially in shorts and a t-shirt!) waiting for the band. But he did get into the photography end- see this:

The thudergod, signing my booklet. that's me with the silly smile in my Slang shirt.
Part 2 tomorrow. I also have to get something ready for Darren's site as well. So I'm going to be a busy bee the next few days!

Until then-

TODAY!!!!!

I've cleaned the house ( Mom's coming over- must make good impressions!) Hubby even helped this time! I'm almost packed, and I'm just waiting for some hot water to take a shower. ( Why is it, when I want to take a shower- everyone in the house has to beat me to it- thereby draining the hot-water heater??????)

We're leaving in about an hour;

Time to "Journey" forth, and "Rock On"!!!!!!!

Getting there....

Cleaned up 1/2 of the house. Going to get started on laundry here, and then when the kids are home I'll get them to finish the livingroom. I'm not picking up the mess that they leave there- they need to learn to either do that for themselves, or not make the darn mess in the first place.

Other than that, not much else going on. I'm getting my stuff done so that when Sunday gets here- we can just GOOOOOO!!!

So in the meantime, a chuckle to start your weekends!:
..............................................................
Marriage (Part I )
Typical macho man married typical good-looking lady and after the wedding, he laid down the following rules:
"I'll be home when I want, if I want and at what time I want-and I don't expect any hassle from you.
I expect a great dinner to be on the table unless I tell you that I won't be home for dinner. I'll go hunting, fishing, boozing and card-playing when I want with my old buddies and don't you give me a hard time about it. Those are my rules. Any comments?"

His new bride said, "No, that's fine with me. Just understand that there will be sex here at seven o'clock every night...
whether you're here or not."

(DARN SHE'S GOOD!)
************************************************
Marriage (Part II)
Husband and wife had a bitter quarrel on the day of their 40th wedding anniversary!
The husband yells, "When you die, I'm getting you a headstone that reads, "Here Lies My Wife - Cold As Ever.'

"Yeah?" she replies. "When you die, I'm getting you a headstone that reads, "Here Lies My Husband--Stiff At Last.'"

(HE ASKED FOR IT!)
*****************************************
Marriage (Part III)
Husband (a doctor) and his wife are having a fight at the breakfast table Husband gets up in a rage and says, "And you are no good in bed either," and storms out of the house.
After some time he realizes he was nasty and decides to make amends and rings her up. She comes to the phone after many rings, and the irritated husband says, "What took you so long to answer the phone?"

She says, "I was in bed."

"In bed this early, doing what?"

"Getting a second opinion!"

(YEP, HE HAD THAT COMING, TOO!)
****************************** ***********
Marriage (Part IV)
A man has six children and is very proud of his achievement.
He is so proud of himself, that he starts calling his wife," Mother of Six" in spite of her objections.
One night, they go to a party. The man decides that it IS time to go home and wants to find out if his wife is ready to leave as well.
He shouts at the top of his voice, "Shall we go home Mother of Six?"

His wife, irritated by her husband's lack of discretion shouts right back,

"Any time you're ready, Father of Four."

(RIGHT ON, LADY!)
*****************************************

THE SILENT TREATMENT

A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving each other the silent treatment.
Suddenly the man realized that the next day he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight

Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper,"Please wake me at 5:00 AM."

He left it where he knew she would find it.

The next morning the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM and he had missed his flight

Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn't wakened him when he noticed a piece of paper by the bed.

The paper said, "It is 5:00 AM. Wake up."

(Men are not equipped for these kinds of contests.)

Let the Countdown begin!!

Sunday can't come soon enough for me! I've got off from work the rest of the week, so I'm spending it pretty much trying to get ahead of the housework. That way Jon and I can leave at a reasonable time to head over to Orlando. He's taken Monday off, so we are DEFinately staying overnight. ( He had originally said no to that, but I changed his mind lol!) Mom will be over after work on Sunday, so we don't have to worry about the kids killing each other ( or making a mess of my house lol!).

I just have to decide what I'm going to wear for the event. I'm probably just going to wear my "Slang" T-shirt. I'm not one to "dress up" for a concert. I'm there to listen and dance to the music. Not to impress anyone with my terrific body ( Cough, choke,GAG!).

I often wondered about those people- You know, the ones in the spiked heels, with their clothes literally "sprayed" on. (Like 10 pounds of sh*t in a 5 pound bag!) 15 lbs. of jewelry, and enough make-up to make Tammy Fae blush! I can't see that being comfortable, let alone reasonable. Like they really think the band is going to look down and say;" Gee, there's a pretty woman, let me dump my present wife/girlfriend/significant other and take up with her"!!! YEAH RIIIIIIGGGHHHTTT! Buy a clue people! They won't see you- and if they do- they won't care! Gone are the "under-the-stage-antics" days. Hell, I wouldn't get that offer anymore anyway ( and I did during the Hysteria tour- and TURNED IT DOWN!) I don't have the "equipment" for it nowadays!

So me and my jeans shorts and Slang shirt will be there, with little/no make-up. And if I happen to run into a member of either band, well- hope they see my smile- and not my 40+ year old body! But I doubt that Jon will want to stand around for the hour or so it takes to have them come out. Unless I can get someone to go with him over to the bar at the hotel to wait for me- Hey Kat, you thing we could get our hubbies to go together???

One other question for you all. I have a 1 gig card for my camera. So how much video can I get on one of those? I know I can get a ton of pics, but I don't know about the video! Kim, Rhonda- any ideas?

I'll be back tomorrow for our usual- until then...

Peace and Love, KC!
