COLONOSCOPIES
A physician claimed that the following are actual comments made by his patients (predominately male) while he was performing their colonoscopies:
1. .'Take it easy, Doc. You're boldly going where no man has gone before!
2. 'Find Amelia Earhart yet?'
3. 'Can you hear me NOW?'
4. 'Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?'
5. 'You know, in Arkansas, we're now legally married.'
6. 'Any sign of the trapped miners, Chief?'
7. 'You put your left hand in, you take your left hand out...'
8. 'Hey! Now I know how a Muppet feels!'
9. 'If your hand doesn't fit, you must quit!
10. 'Hey Doc, let me know if you find my dignity.'
11. 'You used to be an executive at Enron, didn't you?'
12. 'God, now I know why I am not gay.'
And the best one of all..
13. 'Could you write a note for my wife saying that my head is not up there?'

OK, one of the things I haven't mentioned ( truly, I thought is was not much) was that one of the computers I bought last year had already broken down. It was the Compaq one I bought for Andy & Kimmie to use out in the living room. Since I had gotten a 3 year service agreement ( kids + computers = CYA in my opinion!) I took it down to the "geeks" for fixing. Which they did- it needed a new power plug and motherboard. But somehow, when they replaced the MB, they screwed up the software! Now normally, they do not cover software problems. But since THEY CAUSED this problem, they have to fix it. So I had to order the "recovery discs" from HP this morning, to take to said "geeks" and have them *fix* the thing. But when I talked to the guy at HP ( who was probably in Delhi- jeez, to they have anyone working at these places from the USA????) he said that they wouldn't be able to fix it. Seems you "can't replace the motherboard with anything other than an HP approved MB. None of the others will work in our machines". I told him that it's OK, 'cause if they can't fix it- they'll have to give me a brand new machine.
Win=win in my books!
Oh, and as to my comment ( in the comments for the last post). Pharmacist "J" is seriously thinking of reporting to loss prevention about *certain peoples* inability to get to work on time. Since our manager, whom is aware of the situation has done nothing about it. She doesn't even have to name "names". They can just come in and compare records. I told her to "go for it", since yesterday we had one person come in an HOUR late, and the other almost 20 minutes late ( without even a call to say- sorry, I'm running behind). It's really getting ridiculous, that no one seems to think that being scheduled to come in at *X* time means you must BE THERE at *X* time! Used to be you got the "3rd strike - your out!" treatment for this.
Can't wait to see what happens there!
Other than that- just normal stuff happening.
I think I'll go get a book, and crank "Sparkle Lounge". Might at least wake the eldest!

Yes, I'm still alive!

Just so busy that I had to "let it go" for awhile. Not that I didn't care, but I had to deal with some stuff IRL and time just got away from me.
Let's see, where did I leave off? Oh, ok! Let's see if I can recap without writing "War & Peace"- the "Fine" years lol!
Mom- she's done with Chemo, and started her Radiation treatments. She's also started back to work, though on a limited basis ( 20 hours a week to start). She's got her energy back pretty well, and things are getting back to normal in her world. Which is great since things in MY world have been a little crazy.
Me, weeeelllll, let's just say there have been some bumps. At work. Having to do with the fact that there are a few of my co-workers that apparently don't like me. I was told by my boss that this is a fact. So I just go in- do my work, and leave. The "Youngsters" have taken over, and I guess they don't like working w/ the "old lady". Tough! I'm not leaving, and they ( at least 2 of them) will be in the next year or so ( due to college, career changes, etc.) So I'll just wait them out. Besides, they may not like working with me- but when the shit hits the fan- who do they call???? Yup, yours truly. So I can't be that big a PITA for them right? I've been around enough to know that they will go- and I'll still be there. Sucks for them as far as I'm concerned.
The one thing that has been upseting this spring has been Becky. We found out that she was having MAJOR difficulties in a couple of her courses this semester. Failing as a matter of fact. So after several phone conversations, and a meeting with her guidance counsolor, we decided to pull her out of school. Which means no graduation this June. Make no mistake- SHE WILL GRADUATE! But she is taking 2 classes online at "virtual school" this summer, and then will go back to HS in the fall to complete her electives. Which means she will graduate in the fall. I look back and see that I had wondered why she was taking some pretty tough classes, but I didn't say anything. Now I wish I had- we may have been able to avoid this. But she's doing pretty good with her online stuff, so perhaps this is for the best. Her grades would have sucked big time if she'd stayed in school. This way her last semester is virtually *erased* and she's starting from scratch. Should help her get into college at any rate.
So that's the short version of my spring. Not the best one I've had, but there certainly been worse! And I plan on getting back into this blog again.
I've missed you all! And I'm sorry if I worried you. I promise (cue the music!) that I won't do that again.

P.S.S.- If any of you are hearing about the fires that are raging in my town- they are south and east of me. So we are safe. But my Pharmacist "J"'s house is right in the middle of them. So send prayers that she and her family are safe- PLEASE!!!
